Quoting Lola:
Indeed to the hypocrisy. Here we see the classic double standard. Flutie is worried that Buffy will interpret "wrong touching" in the male-female sense. But the idea that it's also wrong in the female-male sense is never addressed.

Nice comments! I got a giggle over "being sexually active can save your life", because, you're right, really. I've always liked stories that look at gender roles, turn and twist them, try them out in different ways. So I'm fonder of Teacher's Pet than I might be just on the strength of the episode alone. Well, and we get some seriously cute Xander, so maybe that's why . . . Lots of nodding with all your objections to the actual monsters. Both Bug Lady and Fork Guy are just . . . well, rather awful as monsters. Not a lot of logic to the actual actions of Bug Lady and Fork Guy, well, he's just . . . I mean, beccaelizabeth put it best when she wondered if Fork Guy's cut up his standardized villian wear of leather pants trying to put them on. **smirks** 'Cuz, I imagine that big ol' fork hand is not so helpful when you need fine motor skills. Really, it't the non-plot bits that are the best. Sweet Willow and Xander moments, Buffy and a really rather sex-ay Angel flirting up a storm, lots of subtexty Angel/Buffy comparisons to Xander and Bug Lady. And you have Flutie with his "wrong touching" and "heal!" speeches. I mean, can you get better Flutie dialog than that? Total agreement on Buffy's fight with the big mantis. The tape playing the wrong thing, trying to find the bat sonar, totally funny. The bug spray! Man, I fall on the floor laughing when they get to that point! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Lola

Loved the shrug of the shoulders by Buffy and Willow when Xander could not remember where the science class was.
To me this episode again shows the Female power over the man and how the female is stronger, just in a bad way instead of a Buffy way.
Xanders teenage Horniness really comes through again this episode, I think the last 2 episodes they play on the hormones of a highschool boy aplenty. The Cheerleaders Xander was watching stretch. The Slowmotion entrance of miss french. Xander walking in mrs French's house while staring at her breasts. I have to admit Joss really nailed the thoughts of every highschool teenage boy in the world. LOL
Got to love Cordelia looking on the bright side of death, after all she lost 7 1/2 oz, and used Mercedeze still have leather seats. ROFL
Probably one of my top 10 least favorite episodes. But I muddled through it.
