Hey—it's Jack's first mate from the PotC movies. Mr. Gibbs.

Hey—it's Jack's first mate from the PotC movies. Mr. Gibbs. Huh. Wonder if all of Kevin McNally's roles require him to be an alcoholic who carries a flask...

Hey—it's Jack's first mate from the PotC movies. Mr. Gibbs. Oh yeah, it sure is. Looks real different though. I'm liking this plotline of Sam mentoring his own mentor. Good confrontation scene at the end.

Really love this show. I am fascinated by the interplay between Sam and DCI Hunt. Hunt abuses Sam physically, but they're almost friends when at the pub talking about Sam's reading of Hunt. It's an amazing thing to watch. Their relationship is my favorite part of the show.

Wow. Just watched this episode on BBCAmerica, and HOLY CRAP did they cut a lot out. I should have guessed, because on DVD the episodes run between 56 and 59 minutes (sans commercials, even during broadcast), so to fit it into the 45 minutes allotted, a huge amount was sacrificed. If you can find a way to watch the full versions, do it!
Also? Hilarious that "shit" was not bleeped, but "tits" was. Logic train? Totally left the station.

It says a lot for the show that it's still good with a huge chunk cut out of it. I'm feeling bereft.
