Oh boy. This is so not good. Of course, we know they can't fail, since we're only on episode 2 of the season.

So, why do you suppose she was the only one able to resist the alien within? Not that I'm complaining, but. . .. So, these beings are going to be recurrent visitors this season?

Sleeper agent. So, she's asleep.
Heh heh heh!!! "Nodody knows more than I do!"
Damn. This is a good scene, with them telling her and her questioning. Is feeling human enough? No.
Are you going to kill me? Gwen so quick with the no, but Jack, not so much.
I'm not that person. And Jack is all, I'm sorry but you are.
Tosh's idea is good. Freeze her until they can change/fix her. But what about the other sleeper agent people who want to take over the world?
Eeep! Bad memories. And she doesn't want to wake up again if she can't be made human, can't be made to not hurt others.
Hmmmmm. Is this gonna work . . . or?

She committed suicide by murder. Interesting. She actually was human enough. She knew that the ET within could not be stopped or controlled and in order to save mankind from, her at least, she made them kill her. Sad.

Interesting how having her look totally human makes it much more ooksome to have them questioning her harshly, being mean, hurting her. But if she looked like blowfish guy, it wouldn't have as much ookiness . . . Which is probably something not very nice, isn't it? And quite possibly a part of what they were trying to say, eh? Ooopsie. They're all waking up now. And killing. That can't be good. Because she's been found out, perhaps? See! I was right to worry about the other sleepers! Gosh, those body storage bins get a lot of use. And, oopsie. There she goes. Are you gonna be able to keep your promise? "What is it about her and lights?" ;D Hmmmmm. So, she didn't do anything but escape? Ah. There's her "other agenda". Seeing hubby and telling him that she has to go away. But, she's "off the grid", so can she actually stay in control, stay herself? Can she help fight the other ones? Ulp. Um, I guess not so much. Ouch!! That's gotta really hurt! What, they're just killing random folks? Well, I assume this guy is somehow important to their "take over the world" plan or something.

"I know everything. And it says so at the bottom of the screen." Taking out the people and things that would activate in an emergency. Well. The bit with the phones? Ianto is killing me!!! (And Tosh's little smirk is wonderful too. ) "Mobiles. Landlines. Tin cans with bits of string. Everything. Absolutely everything. No phones, phones all broken. Hello, anyone there? No. Because the phones aren't working." And then cut right to Jack, "CB radio." ;D Ah. Stored nuclear weapons. Which is why her vision flash thing had a mushroom cloud. Heh! Dashing hero on the case, how can we fail? Gwen's look?! And then Ianto's "he is dashing, you have to give him that"? Heeeeee! Owen!!! Heeeee! Let's all have sex. Ianto!!! Heeeee! And I though the end of the world couldn't get worse. You know, for an ep with torture, murder, nuclear threat, emotional turmoil, and lots of stabbing, this has a hell of a lot of funny. Ouch! Well, it at least stabbed Jack, most stabable guy around. And that's a novel way of keeping him captive, holding his stabby arm inside you. (Which, by the way, yes, effective weapon in short range, but somehow I expect aliens to have cool zappy ray guns or something, not just extrudable arms.) Hmmmm. So they know all about Jack Harkness and Torchwood, do they? Well, if they're still calling him Jack H, they don't know everything, do they? But, what is his/their weakness? Ok, crazed, dying, wild-eyed murdering aliens about to blow themselves up after saying that all the others are "already here"? Not a good sign!! So, is she free now? Or will she still have a chance of going all wacko killer?

Lovely little looks between Jack and Ianto. "We will figure something out." "No we won't. I'm too dangerous." I tend to think she's right. Because she knows she won't care, won't be able to stop herself if she changes. Ah. I'm thinking she's wanting to be dead. Trying to get them to kill her. Yep. "Not human enough." She wouldn't or couldn't kill herself, then? Had to make them do it? Maybe Jack is right. Wanted to "make it easier" on them? Well. Now will we learn more about all the other sleeper agents during the rest of the season? I really like Gwen here. We know plenty! Indeed they do. I like how caring she was all along. I like how she can take charge but also be connected (although, I think she'll let Jack be the "bad guy", now that he's back). I like her pragmatic yet optimistic vibe. What fun! Ghosts and time traveling next week. Woot!

Yes! Funny! Some excellent "laugh in the face of disaster" stuf (which I always loved on Buffy), but also brought back those issues of just how far will Torchwood go, what lines will they cross and so on. Plus, another suicidal thing. **nods nods nods** It's wrong and it's right but it's still wrong, etc. And yes, having it be a mind probe-y thing complicates it even more. Not to mention the whole "look like human so we feel more bad, whoops, that's not very nice either" thing. I think it shows reasonable growth on her part, from being more of a leader while Jack was gone, but still staying true to who she is as a person. And the phone speech! Gotta love the phone speech. ;D Yes! Excellent arc possibilities!

Ah, there's the opening narration. So something is making spouses turn on each other. And now it's spreading? Arms that turn into weapons. Like inspector gadget. Heeeee! Psyco inspector gadget. Group stuff was very fun, wasn't it? But I am a big sucker for fun quippy group interaction while they work to prevent an appocalypse alien nuclear world-ending.

This.. was a really rough episode to watch. Jack acting all paternalistic and being a complete bastard, and on top of that, being right about it (after a fashion), and none of his people standing up to him when they clearly thought he was taking things too far. Reminded me a lot of the Milgram experiments. Yet we have the means getting justified by the ends he gets: I'm well aware of Torchwood as a dodgy, dark agency, but this whole situation had me edgy and nervous throughout the episode, which I've never felt before. Kudos to the jumpy camerawork that excarbated it. **nods** The complications abound! It's not the right thing. Or is it? And they needed to. Or did they? But if they didn't, the world would end. Etc, etc, etc. Complexy! Oooooh, Witchblade! I liked that show, what I saw of it.

Obviously things were a lot darker on Torchwood this week. Two babies killed. Let's hear that again - two babies killed (at least, that was the implication in both cases). And the issue of identity loss was nicely grim. **nods** The scene where they showed her the tape of herself was heart-breaking, really. Good question! Unnoticed, or purposeful? I like that phrase. Entertaining bleakness. Perfect! Helps find the painful truth, eh?

Okay. That was gross. Not at all feeling very warm and fuzzy about that creepy thing coming out of her arm. The whole arm thing was very creepy! And when it became a big stabby thing? EEeep!

So, why do you suppose she was the only one able to resist the alien within? Not that I'm complaining, but. . .. So, these beings are going to be recurrent visitors this season? I'm thinking she was only able to resist because of the way they deactivated her connection (at least partially) to the group. Plus, she knew about herself before being truly triggered. But, I also think she was also feeling like she was just barely hanging onto control. When she was in the car, tracking the other guy? It's like I could see how she was trying to hold back from changing. They did a very nice job making me feel how scary and awful it would be to not be able to control yourself. When she had the memory flashes? And when the arm stabbed her husband against her will? How awful!!
