Oh holy crap! They're "milking" Weevils? And all sorts of other aliens? It is like the whale-esque thing. What a sweet little scene with Gwen. They're harming the aliens and humans. And yeah, Jack and his group does "alien research", but really they are different. They warn aliens off, they ship them back across the rift, they kill them when they have to because the alien's are going to kill first. But they don't do this. Oh! It's like the difference between Buffy and the Initiative! One is . . . part of the natural system, so to speak, and one is working against it! Closing this place down. They're "official". Ah, but that is Torchwood's advantage. They don't have to be official, they're "above the law, outside the government". ;D Cyber terrorism. Oh yes. All that and more. Woo and hoo! It actually worked! Heh. A boyfriend - but has he saved your life like I just did? - yes, actually. Holy crap!!! Owen?! HOOOOOOWWWWWWLLLLLLL! And that's when the DVR cuts off??? Nooooooo! **growls*** Must. Always. Set. Extra. Minutes. On. All. Torchwood. Eps. **growls again**

Another weevil hunt. Ianto is wearing another pink shirt. I sense a theme. ;D Well, red is his color . . . So squee-worthy! Makes me wonder how Unit and Torchwood are inter-related. Or not.

OMG, thy killed Owen! You bastards! Despite that, because I've only just watched it and not seen subsequent eps, the scene where Martha gets Ianto to describe Jack's proclivities as "innovative bordering on the avante guard" just makes pretty much the whole ep too cute for words. <edit> Doy, I don't mean the whole ep, I meant that scene. Oh, I don't know. I think it makes the whole ep cute too. ;D

This was the second episode this season that was about a company taking advantage of aliens in order to make a profit. Is this going to be a running theme? Always has been on Doctor Who plus it's the basic function of Torchwood, even if TW3 haven't been very good at it yet[/quote Good point.

I dunno. I just have the feeling that Owen's only mostly dead, not go-through-his-pockets-and-look-for-loose-change dead. And I haven't read any spoilers or anything like that—it's just a gut reaction. Damn, I hope you're right. Heeee! It's evil, but true. That was sort of the kiss of death, wasn't it?

BBC America is evil. Don't end a show AFTER the DVR runs out!
And it's amazing that I care. Given that last season, I would have paid good money to have Owen killed off. But then they had to make him all semi-likeable and stuff, and also with the heroic death.
Meh. I'm guessing Sara's right. Mostly dead. Not all dead.
Other stuff: "I'm not sure what I can do." Err. How about "cut her open and take it out", Owen? I mean, does it have acid for blood or something, like other torso-incubating aliens of our aquaintance?
The "Doctor = God" stuff continues apace - this time with the pointing at the sky to show who recommended Martha to UNIT.

So, I'm hoping y'all might be able to help me out with this one. EW reviews Torchwood this week (giving it a B, if anyone cares ), and in the first paragraph the author (Ken Tucker) writes: "...the celestially promiscuous Harkness, who has bedded at least one female member of his Torchwood crew, one male member [the joke practically writes itself...], variously comely outer-space creatures, and a smoochy "Time Agent" played by guest star James Marsters..." What I'm wondering is this: when did he sleep with a female Torchwooder? 'Cause I've seen every episode, and I sure as hell don't remember hearing about Jack having sex with either Toshiko or Suzie. And even if I hadn't already been certain of it, "Reset" confirmed he and Gwen haven't been together. Am I just completely missing and/or forgetting something, or was Tucker hallucinating when he wrote the review?

Unfortunately I've already deleted it from my DVR, or I might go back and see if Comcast did the same thing to me.

Pretty sure he's hallucinating, unless it's something about Suzie that was mentioned in passing. He certainly hasn't slept with Gwen, and I'm pretty sure I'd remember Tosh, too.

Flirted with all, yes. And we could certainly still learn that he'd had a sexual connection with either Suzie or Tosh in the past that simply hasn't been mentioned before, but I don't think I've seen anything yet that could be read as having sex with Gwen or Tosh or Suzie in the time that the show has covered so far. I could have missed something that was in the original shows aired in England, of course, and I haven't watched all the DVDs of those eps yet, so . . .

Couldn't they do some kind of . . . emergency surgical thing? They can see the larva in the ultrasound, they could make a quick incision, let the thing come out, then do any organ repair and sew her back up, etc. Oooh, I didn't spot that.
