An Ood episode! OK, that's obvious.

cool - that they revisited the Ood situation, thought about it, and called the Doctor on not having thought it through before. somewhat odd - I can't think of anywhere in the story that the Doctor actually made a difference, at all. Things would have played out that way if he was there or not. beccaelizabeth.livejournal.com/1418111.html

And the Doctor doesn't always make history, sometimes he's just there when it happens. Like how he described Pompeii was supposed to be. But it wasn't, actually, because he was there and make it be what human history said, otherwise there would BE no human history. Okay, bad example but not as far as his OWN explanations go regarding some things that just always happen.

Mystery Tour. I'll be it's Earth of the present.
Pretty snow!
Freezing to death Ood.

Ooh, Metropolis reference? [the Ood lined up in rows in the underground place.]
Something about music.
Sorry... this episode is really losing me...
Donna finds out that traveling with the Doctor isn't all it's cracked up to be.
Photo-activists.
Giant living brain. Sci-fi staple.
Ew, and than he lands on the brain. And falls into it!
The guy turned into an Ood? I didn't know it could work that way.
Donna can't tell what's right and what's wrong anymore Doctor: It's better that way.
The Doctor's got a song of his own. But it's going to end soon. Well...define "soon."

Woot! The Ood! And they're apparently a bit cranky. Heeeee! She's so excited! And then he's so excited! Ah, and they know about the "red eye". So, a cover up, then? Shot! Circle? Eeep!

Heh! Smooth, you guys, smooth. We're not married, never ever! Nice inter-editing of the happy chat marketing woman and the soldiers hunting the "rabid" Ood. If your is happy, then you'll be happy too. Ood, you've dropped something. Ood running wild like wildebeast . . . . I'm trying to imagine that . . . . Circle again. So, maybe they've not always been like this, then?

The Ood is foaming at the tentacles! Hmmmm. The "happy" Ood did not like the idea of killing the other Ood, I think. Or at least was surprised by it. Interesting, the Doctor saying that last time he didn't even think about if the Ood should be serving, if they were actually slaves. Daddy? And, oopsie, their cover is blown. Don't think it liked having "hair tonic" poured on it. And I want to see "daddy"!!! Big blue boxes of Ood. Donna's asking good questions. They're not born with the talking glow balls. Well, as far as we know they're not. Oooooh, now they all glow and do the "circle must be broken" think. Heeee! OK, scary, but also funny. It's like he's trying to grab a toy with a crane from one of those glass box things. Heee! Eeep! And of course she's stuck in a box o' red-eyed Ood.

Run! Run from the Oooooooooood!! Marketing woman thinks "not asking" is the same as being complicet. But she also wants to say she's not part of the problem because she just makes the pretty sales words, doesn't help make the Ood slaves. Hmmmmmm. Does he ever think that maybe the hair stuff he keeps drinking is making the hair fall out? Natural Ood? Singing! And they kind of sit in a circle when they sing. Is this the circle? And are the "domesticated" Ood trained to not want to circle? Doctor helps Donna hear them. Obviously a sad song.

Urk. They cut off their brains? Oh, Donna! You are clever, aren't you? Love the way she figures out they are normally peaceful. Oh! They've spread the red eye stuff through the song! So, they're fighting back, basically. Ah, marketing woman. Done in by your own desire to hide from the nasty truth. It's an Ood and human massacre! He's oddly . . . attached to his personal Ood guy. Did he do something special to make him more dependent/dependable? Or . . . This head guy is very very cynical, isn't he? Doctor Donna friend and they're saved. "This thing dies, so do the Ood." Ok, he's cynical and a bit wacko, yes?

A big brain!!! Of course!! And that's the circle. It's been hindering the telepathy, the song. Ah! The doctor guy is an Ood sympathizer. Hmmmm. I think the Ood that says his place is by his side? Is staying by his side because he's been killing him. Maybe with the hair stuff? Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! They've been making him able to hear the Ood song! And it's going to wipe his little mind, isn't it? OMG! He's made into an Ood!!! Hot damn! "He has become Ood-kind. And we will take care of him." Ulp. So, them standing in a circle wasn't the circle to be broken, and it's not really a circle. It's a brain shape. "I think your song must end soon. Every song must end." Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Heh. I like them singing of "the DoctorDonna". ;D

That he would not have been Ood-ized fast enough and would have blown up the big brain . . . But, yeah. Mostly this was an Ood and friends-of-Ood deal.

That organization, the Friends of Ood? They were battling on behalf of the Ood. Making them... Wait for it... The FoO fighters.

That's a very silly adaptation, evolution-wise. A brain you have to haul around in your hands? What, do they hold their half-brain in one hand while scrabbling for food with the other?
That said, I enjoyed the episode very much.
