Here we go! Kara and the hybrid - this is gonna be interesting. (Scary to see a Centurian standing there . . . ) So, is this how Roslin is going to get an understanding of why some people are listening to Baltar. Back on the Garbage Scow, they wait. (I still don't see why they can't go back to the fleet and then come back here.) I bet the Centurian thought that unplugging the hybrid was like lobotomizing the Raiders. And he was not happy. And now we get the "harbringer of death, lead them all to their end" thing. Eeeep! Dueling mythologies. Metaphor or answers or whatver. Damn! When she does that breaking voice and tears, she just tears me up. Such acting! Just so stunning! Oh. Taking the hybrid off line. This has got to be interesting.

But this time when I saw it in context, I heard "lead them all to their end" in a different, non-doomy way. I heard it as "lead them all to their GOAL" instead. With "end" being "goal" you know. However, I haven't quite jived that with the "harbinger of death" thing.

And as for the death thing, well I keep thinking of how Buffy kept misinterpreting the bit about death being her gift.

Oh. Taking the hybrid off line. This has got to be interesting. I must have run off for a break, I didn't get why they did that. Either because: 1. She was telling Kara all those creepy things and they just wanted to cut her off or 2. The humans were planning on piloting the mothership with their instruments and need her offline and not interferring, or 3. Somebody who watches more closely knows the real explantation (but those are my 2 best guesses). ================ With the show being filled with huge dramatics and theatrics and angst and fights and shouting and do-or-die death stuff there is sometimes little opportunity for sublety. (And often I can't really figure out what is going on when they go to "subtle"---as it just seems like "obscure" to me. But I'd like to nominate Mary McDonnell for an Emmy based on her scenes with Lori Petty (or whoever that was with the cancer)---especially as she talked about her mother.

Anders is just getting pulled one way and then the other about what it means to be a Cylon on this trip. Three and the five. D'Anna. Yay! Unbox her, unbox her!! (Also, came from Earth? Well, that's a fine kettle of fish!) Roslin came with her to see her family and so on?! Or . . . ? That little head shake, "I'm not ready." And Gaius chatting about the river. Preparing to jump, so of course Kara and crew will show up just in time, yes? Or will they miss the boat? Nope. They got the base ship all ready to go. (Now, how are they gonna get it back to the Galactica without them blowing them up before hearing who they are?) Is mommaRoslin converted now? And daddyAdama is having a big ol' crisis of "what's gonna happen now". I don't think, personally, that's what the hybrid means...necessarily. Could be. Could just be she means "they're with the humans". Not that they came from Earth. But that'd be cool.

However, I haven't quite jived that with the "harbinger of death" thing. Well, in prophecy, "death" can mean "big change". As in, death of a species by merging with another, for example? Or something to that effect. Like when you get the Death card in Tarot. Pretty much never means "death".

I'm pretty sure that was Nana Visitor (Kira Nerys from ST:DS9).

Teaser
Picking up from the mutiny.
Doubts about what the next step should be.
Chaos ensues.
Athena steps up. Good.

Part I
Tory actually working for once.
Roslin assessing Tory's performance. If she weren't so distracted by her illness, I wonder if Roslin would have picked up on the Final Four by now.
Demetrius: Day 58
Athena and Kara and Leoben. This should be interesting.
New chick. Who is this?
14 hours for the mini-mission.
Some one should gag Leoben.
Ah, Anders too.
Basestar Graveyard.
This is a good scene between Helo and Gaeta.
This is the place. Kara can hear the music again. In the Basestar Graveyard? Huh?
Can some one please shut Leoben up?
WHOA!! Jupiter? Huh?
It's the painting she drew.

Part II
Landed on the basestar?
Athena meets up with the rest of her line. Paralleling the scene where Boomer meets up with her line.
Is this Boomer who's talking? ETA: Oh, right. Boomer is with Cavill.
Mutiny against the 6s.
Athena talks about loyalty.
Is that Baltar talking?
"the undiscovered country."
Who is this other patient, Roslin's talking to?
Oh, Baltar is talking on the radio.
Baltar is sounding like the hybrid.
Natalie shows up.
Is Anders wondering what would happen if he stuck his hands in the goo?
Six attacks NoNameChick? Huh? Am I missing something here?
Jean? Berily? She's dead!
So this 6 has ptsd.
I'm beginning to think that kissing has a different meaning to the Cylons.
Nice scene with Roslin talking to this other patient.
It's going to get a lot worse soon, be prepared for that.

Part III
Kara meeting the hybrid.
A centurion survived.
Patient listens to Baltar because of "an experience."
crossing the river. The river Styx?
Emily.
She had a mystical, revelatory experience.
So the hybrid repeats what she's saying in a loop.
the children of the one reborn shall find their own country.
OK, I think unplugging the hybrid was the wrong thing to do.
Love the blood splatter though.
Thus will it come to pass. The dying leader will know the truth of the opera house. The missing three will give you the five. [something] come from the home of the 13th. You are the harbinger of death, kara; you will lead them all to their end. End of line.
Roslin discussing Baltar's god.
Either he's the god of all of us, or he isn't much of a god.
About the colonists' gods.
About faith and fantasy.
Need answers, not metaphors.
Roslin's mother was also a teacher. And had some sort of terminal illness.
Mary McDonnell is killing me here.
Roslin's experience of pain and suffering was her own, not her mother's. Interesting.

Part IV
Oh, the five have come from the home of the 13th. But...the Final Four are among the colonists. Huh?
Oh, the missing three, is model 3, D'Anna. So they're going to unbox her now.
Crossing the river. Awww... That's really beautiful.
Roslin sees her own mother.
Roslin's not ready. But someday she will be.
Baltar's talking about the river.
Is Roslin going to become a believer now? I wonder what her next step is going to be.
Demetrius preparing to jump.
Are the party going to show up at the last minute.
Basestar appears Holy Crap! Oh, yeah, it's Kara and co.
That baseship should ease up the crowding issue, right? Provided anyone would actually be ok with living there.
Roslin and Adama talk about Baltar's movement.
Doubts and loss and reunions.
About the meaning of the quest for earth. Fantasy and faith yet again.
That was an incredibly sweet scene. and I love the way EJO smiles.

<snip> The photo has nothing to do with the episode blurb I'm not going to bother to post. I just thought it would make a nice placeholder until time to discuss the episode. It is a very nice...placeholder.
