Okay, just finished watching the first ep of the new season, and I must say I loved it. I was a little afraid they'd make us wait about addressing Barney's feelings for Robin, but they did not disappoint. And NPH--how is it possible that he's gotten even cuter?! He was so killing me with the funny and the being pitiful and the being still such a pig about sleeping with women . . . just fantastic. I hope they draw this out and make him suffer and be confused and vulnerable and fighting his feelings for quite a while because he's just so damn good at it. And the whole Stella Star Wars thing was cracking me up, as well. ;D

Okay, "The Best Burger in New York" episode sooo reminds me of all the food discussions we had during the Vermont/Montreal trip. ;D "This burger is so good, I'm afraid I'm gonna get it pregnant." "Then I've got dibs on your burger babies."

Heh! Loved Robin and her happy dance, missing the "just to be clear, this is just an audition" stuff. ;D And the fist bump bit was great, but especially when Robin shows up and Marshall already told her not to. ;D ;D
Finally? Ted, you and Stella really need to talk about what is important to each of you!! And it's not just NJ versus NY.

Whoa! Robin moving to Japan??! I wonder if Barney will follow her? I mean, he does have connections . . .

I loved Robin's happy dance too. That might have been my favorite part of the episode because I have never been a Ted fan. And I'm just not a fan of Stella as the Mother either. So . . . . since the show was 70 % of Ted/Stella, it was only okay for me.
At least I got a longing Barney look at the end.
Marshall's rant about New York was hilarious.

The way he finally just snapped and it all poured out? Excellent! And then I loved how Lilly and Ted were just kind of huddled together, looking sort of sheepishly at Marshall and Stella.

"I know I can land that lesbian plane!" "No snakes on that plane." How the heck do they get away with some of this stuff?! ;D

But, like you, I'm not one of Ted's biggest fans, so the ep wasn't one of my favorites. But still, so very good. ;D

My post from LJ:
Fun episode. I enjoyed all the Intervention flashback stuff. But I want more Barney and Robin damn it! Did they look a little couply at the end though? It seemed like she was leaning into him or it could be me wanting that. And there was no Stella in the year later scene.
Highlights: Canadian Robin! Hee! The pretentious way Ted was talking about encyclopedias and then Robin's letter to him about it. Marshall's Dr. Suess hat! Hee! The robot cookie jar. Lily's awful British accent! The flail!
So lots of fun in a very Mother, interwoven way.

And Lilly's accent was soooo bad. ;D And I happen to think Barney and Robin looked very couply at the flash-forward--she not only leaned into him, but linked her arm in his in a very loving and we-are-so-doing-it way, IMO. ;D *la la la, all's well in Erinland today . . . . *

So funny, especially how long-suffering Marshall looks as he's going on and on. ;D **nods** Also the classic "we're all thinking this way, then woops no a completely different way, then whoops back again, only acknowledging that everything is more complex than their original black and white ideas" thing. (We're all moving on, everything is great; whoops no, I don't want to marry or move; whoops maybe we all have to be grown-ups and figure out what we're doing without losing our way and the things that are important to us.) That's a very classic HIMYM kind of storyline to me.
