This one should have been fun. But I couldn't get in the right mood to play along. I'm actually in a mood for one of those everybody goes boom plots, so this running around making literary in jokes plot sort of missed me.
Pretty clothes and sets and cars and all that though.
And hearing DT say murder in his natural accent is of win.

Hmm... Is the Unicorn and the Wasp like The Frog and the Scorpion? 1920s. All is well...except MURDER! It was the alien in the library with some kind of blade thingy. ;D The unicorn's on the lose. Ah, a jewel thief. Agatha Christie! Hee. 6 books published so far. Agatha Christie disappeared? Oh, temporary disappearance. Charlemagne lived centuries ago. I've got a good memory. Hee! This episode is too much fun. And there's the wasp. The events are exactly like one of Christie's plots. That's what I've been saying! Hee! Sparkling cyanide? Ginger beer and walnuts and salts are the antidote? Charades!! #rofl1# This should be the Doctor and Donna show...oh wait.  And Donna kisses the Doctor this time. Every murder is essentially the same. Somebody wants something. The minister is actually a giant bug. Ahh, this is pretty clever. So this is why Agatha Christie disappears for a while. The Doctor's chest o treasures. Best selling novelist of all time. Aww... Nobody knows how their going to be remembered, they just have to hope for the best. Mmm-hmm. |

Woo hoo! The '20's! What fun! Heh! "Colonel Wasp, in the Library, with the Lead Pipe." Lovely - it's a classic English manor murder mystery. Hee hee! "Funny place to wear pearls." And Donna putting on the wacky accent is too funny! A thief on the loose and all the classic characters on the scene. And Agatha Christie on hand to be a part of the mystery too, what with the disappearing and all, eh? |

Ooooh, Christie is sneaking something, what is it? Something burned in the fire, a snippet left, perhaps? That would be something right out of one of her books. Ooooh! And Donna made the same joke as me, sort of!! Heeee! ;D Heee! Copywrite, Donna Noble. Yeah, I don't think she'll go for that.  C'mon. You're ever so plucky! OMG, let's hit every wonderful cliche. Camera dissolves, and all the characters. The oh so pious clergy, a gay couple straight out of "Maurice", a gun-toting red-lipsticked femme fatale, the lecherous ex-soldier, secret drinker hostess. I love it!!!! ;D The Doctor and Agatha Christie are a very amusing team. |

Oh, sweet! A mysterious locked room. This just gets better and better. (Heh! "You just, buttle off."  My, that's one hell of a big wasp! And good on Donna - that magnifying glass turned out to be rather useful, didn't it? Something tells me that Agatha Christie's amnesia might be either caused by this case or perhaps "created" by the Doctor, eh? Check off another successful cliche - the clue from the dying next victim's lips. Ah, now I get Donna's point. That it's got to be more than coincidence that all this stuff is happening like in her books. |

So - who's our guess for the Unicorn? Heeee! Donna is giving her all her ideas! ;D Anti-poison charades?!?! Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!  Is the wasp the lady of the house's secret love child that she gave birth to in the room that was locke up all those many years ago, when she pretended to be sick? Nah! That's too far-fetched. And ooopsie, another one dead. My! They're dropping like, well, flies rather than wasps. "I've been so caught up in giant wasps, I forgot!" ;D Nice. And yeah, he's right about why her mysteries are good - understanding why people do the horrible and wonderful things they do. |

Huh. Agatha Christie wrote a short story called Wasp's Nest, featuring Hercule Poirot, some time after this episode takes place. |

Lovely. The final classic cliche - gathering all the suspects together for the reveal. "Or should I say . . . . (duh duh duh) the Unicorn!!" And she acutally says "it's a fair cop". ;D Donna looks like she's watching a movie or something. "How did you know?" "I didn't. I was just going to say you were completely innocent." "Shall I sit down again?" "I think you'd better had." Holy hell! She did had a love child?! Damn! I was making a wacky guess. Well, it better not be the wasp, eh? Or I'll be totally freaked. I think I've read too many Agatha Christie books. Oh holy hell. It is the Wasp?! Damn! I'm, like, psychic or something!! And Donna was right about them being like the books. Did she give the Wasp-baby the ideas? Did the stories somehow come to life? And it's the vicar!! Of course!!! He's the wasp-y love child!! And he used the book ideas that he absorbed from the book thru the stone!! Now, the final element. The spontaneous confession by the murder. Agatha's plan to stop him is what's gonna cause her amnesia, isn't it? |

How do you kill a wasp. Drown it. Of course. The Doctor didn't want it dead, but was there another choice by then?  Ah, and the gem thing caused her amnesia. Coolio. I was right all 'round about everything. Even the insane-o love-wasp thing I pulled out of my ass just as a laugh. No one knows how they'll be remembered, all you can do is your best. How very true, Doctor! I liked it. It was a fun, standalone ep.  |

I enjoyed the heck out of this episode. me too! and sara got me to look the actress who played agatha christie up in IMDB, which got me to discover that her first role was in a tv episode of agatha christie: poirot in britain. that's the icing on the cake of this episode, to me. ;D |
