The only thing keeping this doctor from lawsuits is good ratings. Well, that and the fact that he's always right and saves lives and stuff. And that he's brilliant. His staff of able minions doesn't hurt, either. And he has friends who will defend him and lie for him, even though they can't figure out why, given that he constantly berates, harasses, and insults them. But, that whole bad-boy-with-a-bum-leg tragic story thing is kinda sexy, even if he is a jerk who loves to call people out on their deepest insecurities. What was I saying? Oh yes, how the hell is this doctor still practicing medicine?
This thread is for discussion of any, all, and only those episodes and previews of House which have already aired. No spoilers allowed! If you post a spoiler, House and his doctors will have to treat you with heavy doses of penicillin (we're talking thick needles, people!), a round of rabies and tetanus shots, and whatever else they use to treat for exposure to multiple cans of whup-ass.
Scalpels, ready?

Okay, I am a complete wreck after Wilson and Amber. You and me both, sister. I hate it now, but it will seem beautiful in time. But I really really hate it right now. Wilson bled pretty, but wow. This is.. god. a life-destroyer for the character of Wilson.

This is.. god. a life-destroyer for the character of Wilson. I know. It was just so horrible. Unspeakably so. And yeah, beautifully portrayed. Great scene, all around--writing, acting, lighting, direction--all of it. Damn.

Wilson needs to be nominated for an Emmy.
Amber on the bus at the end was breath-takingly luminous.
That complexion, that glow. Wow.
And the Huntingdon's diagnosis. Ouch.
Will Wilson hate House or recall that House was willing to risk his life to try to help Amber. Her being on the bus was definitely his fault, but her taking the flu med was not. [I'm not sure I ever totally understood exactly what happened there. The flu medication caused a back reaction --- would that have happened without the accident?]

Oh damn. Oh Wilson! Oh Amber! Oh House! Killin' me ~ this is just . . . oh! OMG, and she figured out the diagnosis immediately. She was the one who should be working with House.

I don't want to be in pain. I don't want to be miserable. I don't want him to hate me.
Well. You can't always get what you want.
Amber's dead and she shouldn't be and Wilson is broken. House lived and she died and 13 takes the test and it's bad news and everyone just . . . goes on.
Damn. That's the show in a nutshell, isn't it?
OMG, Robert Sean Leonard is killing me!!

Wilson needs to be nominated for an Emmy. Yes. My take on it was that the active ingrediants in the flu medicine weren't able to slowly move thru her system and then be safely filtered out because her liver was damaged. So instead, she overdosed to a toxic level and it damaged most of her other organs. And once that happened, there was no going back. I think.

As it was, she lost total kidney function, and it continued in her system, and slowly poisoned all of her organ systems. And agreed: Robert Sean Leonard deserves an emmy for that last fifteen minutes. She glowed: and I didn't much like her at first: I gradually grew to like her as the distaff version of House, and the way she didn't let Wilson fall into his usual traps. But she had a magnificent sendoff. This episode? Depressed me, but I liked it. It was meet and proper and true to the characters. I have dissimilar things to say about Bones.

Yeah, boy howdy: he looked convincingly wrecked, physically- which is tough for a pretty boy actor to do- and emotionally. And he does, clearly, hate House when he goes in to the room and sees Cuddy asleep in the chair (and dayum, just her posture in that shot is a novel) and hating him is just adding to Wilson's burden of pain at that moment. I think the writers made some hinky choices in this story, but the actors, in general, did as best they could (still, as I said elsewhere, it doesn't look good next to Slings and Arrows, especially when it comes to writing, directing, and the general look of the show). Julia, watching the "Lear" season

Julia, watchiong the "Lear" season Cuddy was holding House's hand while she slept. Must've been more fuel on the fire for poor Wilson, and then he went home and found Amber's note. I think the arc of these last two episodes may be the best House ever, and Robert Sean Leonard was brilliant. Now that I've had time to think a little, there were some jarring elements (House seizing, for one, which looked silly, and the rushed-ness for another), but on the whole, it was pretty damn good. I haven't seen Slings and Arrows, but if it has Paul Gross, there's pretty much nothing that can compare anyway.
