Seriously cool space battle, show makers. Truly. Whoa. Baltar begging and Roslin ignoring and praying and vision!conscious saying things like "the harder it is to recognize someone's right to draw a breath, the more crucial it is" and that humanity can survive "on a case by case basis" while Roslin watches herself vision!dream!die. A bad man feels his death just as keenly as a good man. Just love someone. Adama putting a ring on her dead finger. Damn! This ep is killing me!! And she goes back to desparately try to save him. "Double dealing. It's very human. You never got that, eight." Aaaaaand of course it was a fake out, the whole "and you didn't know you were one of them". Ah, D'Anna has become so cynical while she was boxed. Wouldn't have told Roslin even if she hadn't betrayed the Cylons, not 'til she's safe, 'cuz she doesn't trust anyone. Awwwww! And Adama gets to see his wish come true. The ship appears and he was right! She wasn't dead. And there she is, with her visions showing her some things she hadn't expected. "Missed you." "Love you." "About time." **gets all sniffly** Awwww! Mom and dad are all lovey dovey!

The attack on the hub? Seriousy cool visuals!! Go go D'Anna!!! Kick some Cavil ass!! "Permanent death. Well that makes this all the more meaningful." Yeah, you tell 'em! Heeee! Baltar is still trying to convert the Centurian. ;D And here's where Pike got it. Oh! And he "jumped back home", which is how they found his viper. I can't help it, I'm absolutely loving the little Baltar Centurian tete a tete. Ooopsie. But now it goes boom. That does not look good, Baltar. "I think you're gonna live. As usual." **snicker** I was harboring guilt. What was your guilt? Ooooooh, snap! And he tells her about accidentally giving the cylons access to start all this! Whoa! Whoa. Baltar rambline and Roslin falling apart and what what what will happen?! Whoa. Holy crap. So, he's bleeding out, but she's gonna help it along . . . punishment? Or mercy? Or revenge? Or shock? Or . . . ? Or hitting rock bottom as the person she's been becoming for years now. I haven't liked Roslin in ages; she's not a good person, IMO. Too focused on the mission, and never noticing that she's lost sight of the reason FOR the mission. Hence the "you don't love people anymore" speech.

it seems like deciding who gets to live and die is just one small step down the slippery slope roslin had laid making so many unilateral and secret decisions as president. it's interesting that she changed her mind, and that she seemed to think doing so would give her the reward of the way to earth - not so different from baltar's espoused belief that god had rewarded him. sometimes it seems like adama is nearly literally roslin's conscience. cavill is so very creepy. i loved d'anna's line to him just before she killed him and how boomer then just turned and ran away. and helo's pause to watch the resurrection ship being destroyed? very interesting... who said last week that right after that line "you didn't know you were one of them" there would be a "psych!"? because you were right.

So, interesting thing: if you go back and look at the starscape Bill Adama sees when the base star jumps into view, you'll notice not one but two items of interest. There's the base star up on the left, of course. But on the right side of the Adama's view there's something else that's quite familiar to most of us: the constellation Orion. I tried to find a screencap of it, to no avail. But if you have the episode recorded, go back and take a look: it's so obvious you won't believe you missed it the first time around. And while I wish I could take credit for noticing Orion, I actually just read about it on someone's LJ and then went back and took a look at my recording. So I'm facepalming about not noticing it right along with everyone else.

It's like the board of number of survivors became just the total to her, not the people that each number represents. Also, some tunnel vision because of her own mortality coming up fast.

I think they were deliberately doing compare and contrast with Roslin and Baltar. And there were far more similarities than she probably wanted to admit. When they were dueling over the attention of the hybrid? I was laughing so hard while also thinking "it's funny 'cuz it's true"! So loved how his "pet" Boomer just turned on her heel and scooted. Perhaps not such a docile pet after all? I wonder if he was suddenly struck by the full impact of what "no more resurrection for Cylons" meant to his family. Sara for sure and I know that most of us were at least sceptical. 'Cuz even tho' their "next week on" promos are often too spoilery for me I was pretty damn sure they weren't going to be that spoilery.

Now, do we have another gap coming up before the final episodes? Like one more ep now and then a gap? Because they could have the reveal of who are the final four (or maybe even the final one, too) next week and still have the arrival at Earth to save as a cliffhanger for the very last batch. Hell, I never notice anything. I lazily count on the rest of the internet to discover all the cool things and point them out to me.

Well, what's the point of fighting them?

That's exactly what we're looking at: one more episode this week, and then we wait for the final episodes to air. Unfortunately, SciFi has not yet announced when exactly that'll happen: there's rumblings they may hold the remaining eps until—brace yourselves—2009.

Heh! Baltar tries to sweet-talk the hybrid. "Hey. Stop jumping the ship." Hybrid is smart to wire herself into the life support. Oh, interesting vision. "Don't you just hate these people?" and "you don't love people". The hub is jumping and the hybrid is jumping after it. Hyperdrive tag! Plotting a plot to get D'Anna. And making a move on him 'cuz she has Athena's memories . . . whoa. Roslin being all fierce and ruthless. Blow up the hub. Bring D'Anna to me and cut out the cylons. Only someone else is waking up D'anna first. My pet 8. Well that's just disturbing. "Until she sees something shiny." Cavil is just so so so very icksome!!! Since this ep was penned by Jane Espenson, I wonder if that was a Joss shout out? A good solid ep; this was less actiony and more introspectivey. Roslin wrestling with her conscience, and Helo's moral dilemna. Show of hands: who expected the toaster to whack Baltar a good one when he started preaching?

Excellent point about the Jane Espenson/shiny things line; I wouldn't be at all surprised if that were indeed the case.

That would be me. Yeah, Lucy Lawless SOLD that psych scene. Hee! Helo paused to watch the resurrection ship being destroyed is very interesting. Hmm... Agree with everyone that Roslin had become more like the enemy all the time. Starting with the 'out the airlock' reaction. It's not that easy a solution as it looks.
