All this push for his "real name" again. Does the thing in Sky want to know his name? Is she controlling them or influencing them somehow? And now she's latched on to the Doctor only. Which really isn't going to help convince them he's not a part of it. Oh look at that, I'm ahead of you. Ooooooooooooooooh, that is extremely freaky, dude. Is this a trick? And now they'll try to toss him out. Whic is what the alien wanted. The one still in her. Ha! Listen to the nerdy assistant woman!! Next to the Doctor, she's the only one who is half-way sensible! Yay! They're figuring it out!! And I think this alien is making them fight. Which is what the alien in Sky is saying to them, so I'm right! Ha! And the alien wants them to toss the Doctor because he is the only threat to it. Whoa! The attendant sacrificed herself too! Damn. "I said it was her." Oh, you soooooo don't want to say something like that to the Doctor. The look he gave her? Not a happy look.

They don't know the hostess' name, just like they don't know the Doctor's. Parallel, anyone?
Nice ending, with her repeating him and it freaking him out.

I also found it interesting how Sky was lit differently than the others when it appeared she'd gone back to normal—she was just a tad brighter than everyone else.

Then again, since that's pretty much how I was feeling I could be projecting a bit...

i really liked this episode, until i didn't. i really liked the first half or so - the different characters and their stories, then the creepiness of the new life form and the characters' reactions. then it seemed to morph into some sort of meditation on the relationship between ethics and crowd mentality, and that just ... wasn't nearly as interesting to me. i just ended up wishing the alien would kill the characters that were being stupid. ah, well. and the promo sure did seem to throw a lot of spoilers at us. i wonder if it was as spoilery as i'm imagining....

Maybe the title is the clue. Midnight (the witching hour) is that balanced moment between one day and the next, belonging to neither. That might be why, in a place named after the only moment on the clock that belongs to no day at all, we see the passengers swinging back and forth in their response, between doing the right thing and allowing fear to lead them into the darkness. It was a nice ironic touch that a planet named Midnight had a sun that killed. and on the map the professor was showing, the route was talking them through something called The Witching ___Something___ (i forget what), wasn't it? for some reason, when the train stopped i imagined that's where they were. i don't know why. and this time i actually saw it! ;D

They don't know the hostess' name, just like they don't know the Doctor's. Parallel, anyone? indeed. i'm even more curious now about the circumstances under which he would tell someone his name (as hinted around in the prior episode). yeah, that was good. it was a good scene all-around. i liked how she could tell something was wrong just by looking at his expression when he walked in.

I also found it interesting how Sky was lit differently than the others when it appeared she'd gone back to normal—she was just a tad brighter than everyone else. to me it seemed much, much brighter. i guess that was part of why i was annoyed at the characters who believed she was fine - it seemed like the show was highlighting the differences and the characters were simply refusing to believe it - that somehow they wanted to believe it was the doctor and were letting themselves be led that way by not-sky(e). there were several other things that really seemed to be off to me after she supposedly went back to "normal", like her affect. i was surprised that anyone would believe her; it's not like people in whatever century they were in have never seen aliens. i'm crossing my fingers for next week's episode.

She also had that different way of holding herself. Which should have helped them figure things out.

I'm kind of comparing it to "Are You Now, Or Have You Ever Been" in that I think the alien was making them be that obnoxious - influencing them. I tried to avert my eyes, but I was too late. Looked pretty damn spoilery to me!

I think it seemed more like a what normal people will do in an unusual situation scenario. The alien just put them there and let things play out.
