Right there, RIGHT there, with you, sister. I'm just... whuh? huh? Who? WHY!?!?? Yeah, I mean future!Peter told him that Sylar was the person who was the key, but I don't think he said "go acquire his powers and that will fix things". Unless I'm missing something. Technically Peter already had Sylar's power, and has since the first season when they fought at Claire's school—what he learned from Sylar was how to access it. That still doesn't mean learning to use Sylar's ability was what future!Peter wanted present!Peter to do, although if he did I gotta also figure that either future!Peter didn't realize the "must examine brains" psychosis was an intrinsic part of Sylar's gift or, being Peter, naively thought he'd be able to overcome that compulsion fairly easily.

I like the title of this episode. Let's see how it holds up.
Teaser
Mohinder none too happy.
Nice touch to have Mohinder's lab notes be his voice overs.
Triplets: Tracy, Nikki, and Barbara. No Jessica?
So German Doctor is what Mohinder is going to be in 30 years.
German Doctor worked for the Paper Company. Mmm-hmm. He did it for Linderman, right?
Tracy parallels Maya. Anger triggering lack of control over powers and consequently hurting people.
Take some drugs, listen to a little music.
So what kind of drug can simulate superpowers?
Four years in the future. Nothing's different. Except everyone has powers.
How does stepping on the proverbial butterfly in the future.
Ahhh... some of the Heroes were born Heroes and others were made that way.
EvilClaire shows up.

Part I
Claire is working with Daphne and... a Black Dude.
Orders. Who is giving the orders.
Molly!
Hiro and Ando are on level 2. In case that has any significance.
God dammit Hiro, quit picking at a scab or Ando really will turn against you.
Wait, Nathan has been installed as Senator already?
Nathan banters with the Linderman Figment.
Dream of Presidency again.
Oh, joy. Maya's back.
Maya/Mohinder is quickly turning into an abusive relationship.
Back in the Future. Isaac's old paintings.
FutureMohinder. Who's turned into the boogieman.
DomesticSylar? Who's spawned? Now that is REALLY disturbing.

Part II
Sylar's hunger is a hunger to learn? I don't really like the implications of that, but it does connect him to Mohinder's conundrum.
Ohhh, Daphne and Matt are together. So Daphne is the blond chick in the painting. And at least Matt didn't forget about Molly.
Ugh, I'm not liking Matt's attitudes about women in the domestic sphere.
Peter accesses Sylar's power. Cool and disturbing.
Also... I think that PresentPeter becomes FuturePeter. Thus closing the loop.
Sylar named his kid after Daddy Bennett?
Or...the kid is actually Claire's?
Fight, fight, fight.
Explosion! Whee!

Part III
The Haitian's back.
That was really a really good scene with Tracy on the phone. Kudos, Ali Larter.
And Mohinder can't undo the effects of the serum. Maybe you should have thought about that before you injected yourself. DUMBASS.
Nathan religiousing again.
Damn, girl! You didn't have to jump!
And Nathan saves her. Aw, and boo on the gender dynamic implications.

Part IV
Tracy and Nathan. Sharing a moment. Sharing their powers.
Did Nathan not know before that Nikki had powers? I guess he didn't.
FutureNathan married to Tracy of the Really Funky Glasses.
Ooh, shirtless Peter.
OK, this is a pretty creepy torture scene, considering that they are niece and uncle. And now Nathan shows up. Cause there's hasn't been enough incestuous overtones.
FutureNathan is still religiousing.
So the hunger caught up with Peter, I guess.
And yeah, PresentPeter became FuturePeter in the future. Or something.

Coda
Yep, Matt's a sucky parent as well. Probably a good thing that Janice ended up divorcing him.
So Matt was dreaming the future. And that's what the drug does?
Totems. The turtle, I guess.
You don't read much, do you? HA!!!
Ando and Hiro meet with Mama Petrelli.
So the formula is the drug that turns Normals into Heroes. I'm guessing that the formula allows people to do what Mohinder did without the unpleasant side effects.
Ando defends Hiro. Aw...
Adam Monroe!

So, Daphne, whatsishead and Claire. So what keeps Hiro from being able to use his powers in here? Damn skippy, Ando! Give him hell for his weird prejudice. Hah! "starting to understand why I might" Heh. Linderman, the crazy voice in Nathan's head. and he doesn't trust him fully. As well he might not. Another side effect: asshollery. Huh. Nice time-transition. So why is mo-mo's lab undisturved for four years? maybe he molted and flew down south to Mexico to lay his eggs. Nope, there he is. So four-year-future Sylar is ... lobotomized? Oh god, did he mate with their niece? their nieces' mom? WHAT THE HELL!?!?!?

Is the dead girl in the rock-paintings Daphne or Kristin Bell from the future?
I just hope they don't turn Mo-Mo into the Human Fly - waste of hunky manflesh.
G. Seriously! Couldn't they give him a side effect that was icky yet nice looking? ;D Eetah.

Why do the future paintings always seem to accumulate at the warehouse/lab place? OMG!! Daddy Sylar! How very wonderfully warped!! And the kid's name is Noah. Well, that's kinda adorable and incestuous and all. So, who is Noah's mommy? Hmmm. Sylar is right that the world does seem to keep needing to be saved and you do need to watch how you do it. But Peter is also right about needing to try to save it. Interesting future. And, it seems like the future they thought was no longer happening. Everything is all flip flopped. Good people are bad people and vice versa. Fix the watch and learn Sylar's secrets. How very apt. Claire leanred how to take care of herself. And they really should not pis off Sylar, I'm thinking . . . Oh, crap. Kill his son? Well, that's just gonna set him loose. OMG!! Sylar blows up himself and thus the world! Whoa! Sylar himself could be, if he's studied any hermphroditic reptiles for too long...

So. You can fly? Claire's become quite the sadist. And, um, you guys kinda are responsible for the explosion too, so . . . Well, at least we're getting shirtless Peter to compensate for icky-Mohinder. And, damn! Peter really did go all Sylar on us. Something about this ep is making me want to post this: <snip> I wonder why?

this episode isn't working very well for me because i still don't really understand why present!peter felt like he HAD to get sylar's powers to be able to ... i don't even know what. what did he feel like he would be able to accomplish with them that he wouldn't without? i just don't get it. Right there, RIGHT there, with you, sister. I'm just... whuh? huh? Who? WHY!?!?? I'm starting to think that this show is nothing more than a big pile of pretty. I mean, I appreciate the pretty, but I think it might be best to turn most of my brain off when I watch.

So per request - here is my LJ post about Heroes today: I loved the ending. David Anders "Hiro, you son of a bitch" was great. Though stop stealing Dean's line Sark. Where did Sylar's kid come from? I am so confused about this future storyline. So confused. So there's an airvent in the ultra secured level that you can escape from? Seriously?I love the idea of Peter and Sylar being buddies in fighting the future. At least evil Claire is more fun to watch than angsty, woe is me Claire. Did I mention I am very confused about what is going on? I still find frozen Tracey boring although I love Nathan. Why does he have to be hooked up with her? And of course he was going to swoop in and catch her. Best foreplay moment ever. So Parkman's spirit guide is a turtle? Hee! I kind of enjoyed this far more than last week's episode. Though I'm so confused. There's always an airvent. It's like a rule or something. ;D Totally with you on the confusion thing. And I'm thinking that Nathan's kind of blended Nikki and Tracy together. I mean, he had already been intimate with her once, which admittedly is creepy, and then they connected over having powers. Also, all the characters seem contractually obligated to hook up with each other, I think.

Peter clearly thought Sylar was just a nutjob who liked taking brains out and poking about in them...so he thought the danger was minimal or tolerable...oopsie. I gotta say, I'm intrigued with the way they're trying to rehabilitate Sylar. I did, briefly, feel I understood why Peter needs Sylar's ability - I thought it was so that he could figure out how the past leads to the future he's seen, how the "parts" work together, and so he could see which one or ones are the best to try and change for the greater good.
