Springalicious!
As if this past week wasn't complicated enough, you just had to ask for that Whedon boy's plans for the future. Do you have any idea how hard it is tracking him down these days, much less have time to sneak some elves in to go through his stuff? That man has better security than the Vatican: you would not believe the number of gifts I had to promise this one guy just to get five minutes with the man's computer—they included a Ferrari, ten million bucks, and an hour alone with Mo'Nique.
But they don't call me a saint for nothing. Here now, for the first time, a look at Joss Whedon's plans should that Dollhouse thing fall through:
1. Chain Me Up, Chain Me Down: centers around a woman named Summer, who by day seems like just another mild-mannered college employee—sweet, kind, demure. But of course, she has a dark secret: she keeps our old friend Spike chained in her basement. Romance and wackiness ensue as they attempt to solve various mysteries — it's Remington Steele meets Pedro Almodovar meets Fellini. We need to establish early on that despite the circumstances, Spike is drawn to his captor and doesn't really try very hard to escape when given opportunities. Note: probably best as a cable show.
2. Saturday Afternoon Delights: A new coach (is Kyle Chandler available?) arrives at Ohio State to try and lead the football team to greatness. At night, he's a crime-fighting ninja sworn to help the helpless. Things get complicated when he falls in love with an Italian-American coworker who wants to know why they can never go on a real date. Romance and wackiness ensue. Note: investigate whether ninjas ever use rocket launchers.
3. The Naked Chef: an Italian-American chef known the world over for her Italian Wedding Soup hires a new sous chef, played by James Marsters. They try to keep their relationship professional despite their volcanic chemistry and her tendency to take off her shirt when things get hot in the kitchen. Which of course means she's showing off the girls every five minutes. Oh, and she secretly fights the forces of darkness in her spare time, using nothing but her wits, intelligence, and a Microplane grater. Romance and wackiness ensue. Note: definitely for cable.
Before I go, how about a few pictures for the road? I'd hate to have gone through all the work of finding them and then not even use them...
It's been a pleasure finding gifts for you, my dear Spring. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas filled with all of the love and joy you unquestionably deserve.
Best,
Santa
OMG!!! Squee, Squee, and DOUBLE SQUEE!!!
These Whedon-plans for new shows exceed even my wildest dreams!!! They sound wonderful!!!
Thanks for getting the low down for me Santa, baby!!! I cannot wait for the new season!!
I adore you, Santa!! Please enjoy some soup:

HO, HO, HO! Happy Holidays, Sara! Your Secret Santa has been diligently working on making your wish for guitar lessons come true. The guitar is one of yours truly's favorite instruments. I remember the time Mrs. Claus and I were stranded on a little island off the coast of Figi with nothing more than a guitar and a few books to keep us entertained. But I digress.
Since you didn't specify what kind of guitar lessons, I dug around the world for various guitars you might be interested in.

Ho, ho, holiday happy wishes for you Fotada!
Fotada, my dear! You asked for music, which is one of Santa’s very favorite things. Of course, Santa tends to listen to a lot of Christmas music, so that’s what he’s going to give you first. Touring the land of YouTube, Christmas music style!
Nat King Cole – The Christmas Song
Brian Setzer mixes Stray Cat Strut with the Grinch
Classic – Elvis doing Blue Christmas
Luther Vandross and Chaka Khan doing “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”
The original Band Aid performance of “Do They Know It’s Christmas”
Franz Gruber playing “Silent Night” on the guitar
U2 doing “It’s Christmas, baby please come home”
Spirit of Orthodoxy Choir singing Carol of the Bells
Now, in case you’d like to branch out to other kinds of music, a list of places to go to listen to music online! (Like you didn’t already know about these . . . ):

Awesome recommendations for little Lucas. He's getting quite a nice collection of books, and I think a bookshelf might be in order soon. Thank you so much! My Secret Santa is the best! For you:

Wow! So many goodies, so little time! I have to admit, I think I slipped into some sort of lust-induced stupor for at least half an hour after I saw yesterday's gift. And now all those wonderful links about guitar playing to explore during my time off—it's going to be so much fun checking them out. Thank you so much!! And as I hear this is one of your favorite treats:

Merry Christmas, Erin!!! It's finally here! It's finally time for Christmas and the last big gift bag. Santa doesn't mind telling you that Santa is one tired puppy. I love Elvis singing Blue Christmas--it might be my most favorite Christmas song! And the awesome duet between Chaka and Luther?? Amazing. And believe it or not, I did not know about all of those music sites. So thank you very, very much! And finally, I really enjoyed the Mary J Blige song. Well, Sue, Santa has thought long and hard about how to bring about some of your more challenging requests to life...world peace, Sci-fi buying up Whedon-y shows for reruns, finding Jim's paperwork, adaptations of the Miles books with a 7-season guarantee and a great showrunner, and has decided that the only way to bring it about is...MAGIC. Luckily, Santa keeps a coterie of wizards on staff for this very purpose. These gentlemen will be working night and day to see that your wishes come to fruition. It might take a little time, but Santa truly believes that with time and a lot of effort, your dreams will come true, as schmoopy as that sounds. In the meantime, something fun to tide you over... MERRY CHRISTMAS, SUE!

Dear Santa, I couldn't even wait long enough to pretty up my response to tell you that that was just.........................indescribable! World Peace pales in the face of ASH doing the role from Rocky Horror. (Do you know I've never even seen the movie? Well, except for bits and pieces. I really must watch it sometime.) Thank you, so much. I think I'll have to post the link on the main board so everyone can enjoy it. And I'll be back with more thanks later. Sue

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, SARA! I've done my best to try and make all your wishes come true so that you can have the merriest of Christmas's indeed.
Your wishes for a third season of Friday Night Lights (and more of Taylor Kitsch - shirtless, of course) and another season of all the shows the S'cubies love are in the hands of a power higher than me, but he and I are on good terms so I'm sure something will be worked out to your satisfaction.
I know you are an avid reader and movie watcher, but to try and give you some new ideas of what is out there, my elves, Google and company, came up with a site that has a list of out of the ordinary book recommendations where I hope you find one or two to that tickle your fancy.Kevin Forsyth This next site has a list of movies touting existential therapy. We all could use a bit of that this time of year. Existential & Psychological Movie Recommendations Santa loves a big finish, so I present the many faces of Taylor Kitsch to do with as you wish.
Merry Christmas, Sara! It's been my pleasure to be your Secret Santa, and you have my best wishes for a peaceful, prosperous and joyful New Year! Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
