Shut up, dude. You're clever. Deal with it. Nuh-uh, YOU shut up! Nuh-unh YOU BOTH shut up. Uh, except if you're giving us travel info or something. Or have something useful to say. Or something funny. Or... Oh, never mind. And Shan-- You ARE clever. So deal or cope or do whatever, but live with it. So there. Diane *checking to see what in her closet could pass for cruise wear*

Hey, maybe if we go out of Canaveral we could find a day for Disneyworld?

Hey, maybe if we go out of Canaveral we could find a day for Disneyworld? Diane *who has wanted to go since Disneyland opened in 1955*I'd love to go, too, but I'd want to be there for several days. And take my kids, before they're too old to enjoy it out loud. A fly-by wouldn't do it justice, I don't think.

Hey, maybe if we go out of Canaveral we could find a day for Disneyworld? Diane *who has wanted to go since Disneyland opened in 1955*While I am sure not everyone could find the time, perhaps some folks could arrange for time before or after the cruise to get together to do so. Disneyworld is truly a wonderful place. And the possibility to do so is something that didn't even cross my mind as a "feature" for that particular cruise. Thanks Diane. Vlad

Vlad I consider myself an avid Disney fan. Since I have been 8 times in 10 years. One day would not do it justice. Even 2 or 3 would be hard pressed. However, if you just want to do a specific park, I.E. Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom or MGM, then one day would suffice for one of the parks. Going with kids is much fun, but going as an adult....just as much fun. You have pleasure Island you can go to. plus all the shopping. Even in the park, you can take your time and enjoy the park. Michelle and I would love to go back to Disney without the kids. the last time we went alone was 7 years ago. We had a blast. I think it would be a very cool thing to do, if enough people were interested in doing it.

I think it would be a very cool thing to do, if enough people were interested in doing it. I too love Disney World! I have been there over 20 times in my life, much of that to do with the fact that I spent every Christmas in Florida visiting relatives as a child. And then, as an adult, I lived in Tampa for a year, racking up a total of 3 visits in that time alone, as I had friends and relatives come to visit me. And also, following S'cubiefest I in Nashville, I drove Patti down through the Smokies (which she had never seen) to see Rob and former technopagan Rae who both live in Orlando. Patti had never been to Disney either and we ended up the 4 of us taking a day and doing that. Patti had a wonderful time and, tho' we didn't know it then, I am really glad she got that experience in her life before she passed on. It is a magical place for both children and adults and I wish every child at least once the opportunity to see it as a child, to have it be a part of their memories of being a kid. Vlad

I've been to Disney Land, way way back in my kiddie days. But never Disney World. And Disney World with a pack of s'cubies? Might be very entertaining.

TRANSPORTATION UPDATE: For anybody considering the cruise from Orlando (Ft. Canaveral): I called Carnival and found out that they have shuttle service available, leaving every 10 minutes from Orlando airport for the approximately 1hr ride to Ft. Canaveral. The shuttle service is part of the ticket price but please make sure, when booking (if we all do it separately instead of as a group) to make sure that your transportation voucher is included. Its for the above reason (highlighted in RED) and the fact that the ship debarks at 4pm, that anyone checking flights should probably look for something that arrives in Orlando no later than approximately 1pm. And, as far as return flights, probably nothing that leaves prior to Noon. Vlad

Okay, we don't appear to have enough interested parties to qualify for a group rate, so we're going to have do do this individually, it seems.
Next step after I close this is that we pick which of the cruises on the list from Orlando will work. I'll put up a poll as soon as I can.
Even if you didn't vote before, please feel free to vote on a date if you've changed your mind and want to go! We might end up with enough festgoers to get a group rate after all, which would be nice.
Please be aware that the prices have gone up a little bit since the original post and it would be best to get this buttoned up before they go any higher.
