A theory of one of the posters, who goes by Mirish2U14, on SciFi Channel's BSG message board: My premise is this - not that we will end up with a dream episode in the end, but in fact the entire program has been a telling of the last time this happened into the memory of one of the main characters - perhaps Adama got implanted with a chip when he was on a Basestar at the end of the first Cylon war? That the whole program has been a warning of the weakness of the human race and the errors they made the last time, giving humans a chance to change the outcome of a different ending this time around in a Cylon war just about to commence. Perhaps knowing that human and Cylon did result in Hera, a cherished dream of the Cylons who really want to be humans or else they would not have created like images, that this time the humans will have a proposal for cooperation with the Cylons that will avert the catastrophe that happened the last time with the destruction of the 12 colonies and her people. Remember the last time the Cylons completely ignored the surrender by Pres Adair. How this telling of the "last time cycle" is made could be through computer chip or kidnapping of prime people and in the reality ability of the Cylons to create their "own world" the story is re-told. Instead of being history to the person/people being told, this will be fresh in their minds with the horrific happpenings (I bet almost all the characters die by the end of Daybreak 2) which will cause them to seek a new way to change this current cyle starting up anew.Hm, interesting. But if the Cylons implanted a chip in Adama's (or anyone else's) head, it presumes they are leaving the power of keeping the peace up to one single human....who will likely be labeled insane by his fellow humans if he breathes a word of what he's "seen" in the story. "No wait, let's make an alliance with the Cylons!" got Adama SUCH good results recently. The pre-series humans had as much Cylon-hate as the BSG ones. If the Cylons have idea of stopping the cycle, why not just, you know, stop the initial Cylon attack? Why go through some imaginary rigmarole? I believe someone has been arranging it so that enough real entities (human/cylon/cybrid/whatever the frak Kara is) are living together, struggling together to survive against each other/themselves and also ask: "Who are we? Who are you?" and that part of the arranging is that some of them actually have enough pieces of information to actually answer those questions. Hopefully before they all kill each other again.

I didn't want Gaeta to die. They let Baltar live after being instrumental in the deaths of billions and the debacle on New Caprica, why not Gaeta? I know, I know. Mutiny. Example. Punishable by death, blah blah blah.

Good points and probably more probable than the writer's theory. What if the "story-teller" or entity engineering this whole thing is Kara as one of the Lords of Kobol or the God? I sure have no idea how this will end, but the ride is great. ;D

Hmm...so I've been thinking about who would be the most logical one to have been 'chipped', and I keep coming back to Baltar because wasn't he instrumental in the Cylon's successful nuking of his home? Plus, he keeps saying that he runs away all the time, so maybe now is the time when he'll stop running and lead. He is very charismatic and people follow his lead. Still an interesting theory. I wonder if Leobon's reaction to Kara's discovery of her burned corpse will come into play soon. That might be a key to it all. She hasn't told Lee anything about that yet, has she?

Punishable by death, blah blah blah. It obviously had to be done. Gaeta, even though at the end he ordered the stand down, still believed that the Cylons and everyone around them had to be contained. He would be a constant thorn in Adama's side. But why then did Adama let the other crew member go? (The cute lieutenant - don't know his name.) Was it enough to just round up the leaders and get rid of them or was it because he (the lieutenant) showed some remorse for the way he felt about the Cylons - and therefore, showed hope that he would eventually be able to accept them - as Adama himself has? Dang, this show is so awesome. I hate losing shows just when they are getting really good.

Good episode, but I'm still wanting some indication that Adama and Roslin are aware of the mistakes they made that precipitated this crisis. This situation is still not so black and white. Hopefully there'll be some in the next episode.
