I didn't realize this, but according to Ron Moore on the podcast, Boomer's supposed change of heart in helping Ellen escape in No Exit was supposed to be part of a ruse help Boomer get back to Galactica for the express purpose of kidnapping Hera.
I'm going to have to go back and take a lot at Boomers entire arc, because I never thought of her being so entirely cold before. I'm not sure I understand her character.

Bear McCreary wrote a lot about developing this episode in his blog. Part 1Part 2Part 3Apparently he auditioned for the part of Kara's dad, which is interesting even though it would never have worked, so I'm glad he didn't.

Just really hurt and watching her man have sex with another version of her. Um. Feelin' guilty over enjoying the hot pilot sex now. Ha! I was right about Hera's "stars" being important! Ha!! Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! Now Boomer is gonna take Hera?! Noooooooooooooo!! The music!! The magic Earth-finding music!! And it was her daddy! Ha! Oh, Athena!! Stop Boomer!! Stop her! Nooooooooooo! And now Roslin is getting the Hera vibe too. Holy crap!! Holy crappity crap crap crap!! Oh, Chief. Yeah, Boomer took Hera. Are you happy with what you did, you great giant love-sick git!!!? Play the music for Anders, Kara. Maybe he'll wake up. Good idea.

I don't know the guy who played Kara's father, but I thought he did a great job. Liked this episode, made me all teary-eyed. Kara's dad connecting with her, and Boomer as femme fatale. Woah. Grace Park had many parts to play this episode, and she really nailed them. What are she and Cavil going to do with Hera? Argh. It amuses me that there is only one slightly used tube of toothpaste left on the ship, but an apparently unending supply of booze. At least the alcohol kills germs.

I don't know the guy who played Kara's father, but I thought he did a great job. agreed! the episode also left me wondering about the idea some suggested after a recent episode (i think it was the one two weeks ago) as to kara's father being daniel, the artistic and now deceased Seven. it would explain why one day he up and disappeared and just never came back. (though certainly, plain old abandonment would explain that as well) she was great! ;D i wonder if the fact that alcohol can be made from so many different things has helped in this regard? maybe they've found new things to make alcohol from on the ships.... algae alcohol maybe??

She's always been really fulked up, IMO. It really didn't surprise me at all to watch her beat on her counterpart, seduce the husband, and kidnap Hera. I just sat there thinking how very dumb the Chief continues to be whenever women are involved.

I'm sure they've got lots of moonshine toothpaste around. ;D And alcohol - well, no matter what, humans start by making a still....
