Ah, so we start with where we left off last time, the gang-of-not-so-bright-three nabbing HRG. Oh noes! They removed his glasses! The horror - the horror!! The paper company shut down and he got his retirement watch. MommaP was the one who shut it all down and . . . her desire to "cobble the family back together" set Nathan on his path? Or did she shut things down and pretend to be doing all this when really it was Nathan and the government who started it? Man. This guy really hates Nathan, doesn't he? And are you really surpised that hes spying on you? Hmmm. Is Matt doing this for the good or for revenge. I'm guessin' a bit of both. He's going nuts just hanging around the house, isn't he? "Everything's going to change and I just want you to know Claire's going to be safe." "Certain exceptions will be made." Oh, Nathan. This was Nathan's version of "making things right"?! WTF, Nathan!? Oh, and HRG got to be all mentor guy at first? When did it turn to him from this to being the guy under Nathan and the government's thumb? Heh! Mohinder thinks he deserves this 'cuz of his coccooning and so on? And Peter flied off to raid the stash of guns and tech and what not. Which, duh, didn't they figure there would be security?

Heh! "Phasers on stun." ;D Huh. They call the building "Two-six", not twenty six. I'm not sure why that interests me, but it does. Hmmmm. It's about "trust" and about "us and them". Huh. HRG tried to recruit Mohinder. Heh! "Why didn't you tell him?" HRG is doing a nice job of getting them fighting each other. Aaaaaaand it worked nicely for his escape plans. Oh, the trio of dumbness comes thru again! Heeeee! Caught by flying man! Ooooooooh! Did HRG and annoying government guy have a side deal? Over-simplify, over-complicate. That . . . kind of sums each of them up nicely. Um. Noah? Terrorists are people too. I mean, except for the raccoon and squirrel terror brigade. But you get my gist here - that saying "they're not terrorists, they're people" is, well, dumb? Yes? They might not be nice people, but they are homo sapiens, as opposed to, say, plants or rocks or water. ;D OMG, these 3 guys are soooooooo dumb!! Do not go after annoying government guy, you idiots! Ah. Well, regardless, the government goons have come for them. They really should have run.

I gotta say, I'm wondering why annoying government guy isn't leading the raid himself. Although I'm not surprised that his own place is all spy camera-d up. Why did they think that just bustin' in and going after this guy would be a good idea? Heh!! "How the hell did you get here so fast?" ;D Nathan, you're playing a dangerous game, dude. Heh! They don't know what room. And Matt decides to take the time to squish around in HRG's brain to see if Daphne is alive. And Mohinder goes out to play King Kong to distract them and give him time to do the dumb thing. Oh! Peter!! Heeeeeee!! Ooooh, now Mohinder is the one tied up. And Nathan reminds him of the juxtaposition. "Your actions supported the hard-liners who believe you should all be executed. Me? I still believe containment can work." Yeah. Doesn't he even listen to himself? Ah, dude. Is Nathan actually gonna try to have Mohinder help him, with Science, again? Hmmmm. Is annoying government guy gonna fall for HRG's new scheme? Aha! And who is really running things? MommaP, of course!! Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! "You know me. I've always been comfortable with morally gray." ;D And more apocalyptic boom boom visions.

Personally I'd love to see the AGG (annoying government guy) and Sylar mutually destroy each other.
Always nice to see Momma P. calling the shots.

Need to devise a new strategy for rounding up Heroes. Well I say they've found one.

Part I Nathan and The Hunter. Back with the Daddy Bennett mind probe. Mohinder objects. I'd hardly say you have the moral high ground at this point, dude. Mohinder has clearly read the army manual on interrogation techniques. Flashback. Mama and Daddy Bennett. Nathan shows up. Nathan does the idealism replaced by corruption, double standard hypocrisy politician thing. Woe! Daddy Bennett has a storage locker of ammo and money. I wonder if he hangs out with Jack Bristow. The Three Musketeers. I wish they would stop arguing and make out already. Daddy Bennett starts waking up. Great job, fellas. Peter at the storage locker. And he triggers an alarm.

Part II
The Hunter briefs Nathan.
Back with Daddy Bennett and the Two Musketeers.
Yeah, Matt's getting a little too abusive of his power here.
Starting up the operation. Daddy Bennett meets The Hunter. And yeah... Daddy Bennett's no longer running the show. He got hoodwinked.
Daddy Bennett rides in Mohinder's cab. Daddy Bennett tries to recruit Mohinder. But he's the boy crying wolf.
Mohinder vs Matthew.
You let Daddy Bennett escape, boys. Great job.

Part III
OK they recaptured Daddy Bennett. Squabble squabble squabble.
Daddy Bennett and The Hunter.
Company Man. Family Man. I'm not one for dancing. And that makes you a scary mo fo.
They're not terrorists, they're people. They're targets.
This job is about understanding their humanity. Not their ability. But you have to be human to do that.

Coda
Ah, Building 16.
Mohinder and Nathan.
What is Nathan trying to accomplish?
Wow, this really is a not so sutble indictment of Bush policy towards terrorists, isn't it?
Daddy Bennett pledges his life to the cause. Except he's not.
Touching base with Mama Petrelli. Naturally.
You know me, I've always been comfortable with morally grey. Yes, we know.
Matt vision painting again.
DC on fire. Like Johnny's vsion on The Dead Zone.

i really, really disliked this episode. i'm not entirely sure why, though i think part of it is that i was getting tired of watching people on this show make bad decisions. but if it were the first episode of heroes i'd ever seen, i don't think i would have ever watched it again.
it seems so blatant that they're setting up Government Guy (what's his name, anyway? i always forget) to have had some sort of Big Trauma in his past involving someone with abilities. for how bitter he is, perhaps it was a relative or other loved one, and/or involved someone with abilities killing a loved one. why this is supposed to be reason enough to round up and kill every person with abilities, i don't know, but then i suppose people with bigotries often don't make logical sense.

Huh. They call the building "Two-six", not twenty six. I'm not sure why that interests me, but it does. isn't that sort of phrasing pretty typical of the american military? perhaps it is intended to show that the unit is ultimately under military control and military rules. indeed. i know, that part really annoyed me. every episode i watch in this storyline makes me wonder how we as viewers would have reacted to this plot a year or two ago vs. now. but it's such a brilliant plan, what possibly could have gone wrong!

I gotta say, I'm wondering why annoying government guy isn't leading the raid himself. Although I'm not surprised that his own place is all spy camera-d up. it's like that saying re: privacy invasion, "if you don't have anything to hide, then there's nothing to be worried about." i could not figure that out! it's almost like he's asking to get caught! he really doesn't seem to have any conception at all about what a slippery slope he's been on this entire plotline. because it's worked so well in the past! ;D it was nice to see her again. i like the actor's understated, wry delivery of lines like that one.

Mohinder objects. I'd hardly say you have the moral high ground at this point, dude. no kidding!! i know! i kept thinking, "this never would have happened if mohinder and matt had stayed together..." (what happened to their adopted daughter anyhow? we haven't seen her since matt's months-ago african visions of her in the future...)
