Part IV The actor who play Nicolas looks familiar. Margaret talking to brother. About haunted houses. Topher and Sierra... playing Laser tag? Ah, the dolls are actually kept in their pods asleep because their not needed. But wouldn't their muscle atrophy and so forth? Keeping them in good shape seemed to be very important. Ballard and November. I will give you what you need. It doesn't have to mean anything. And he goes all in. Oh, boy. Heh. nice segue to MargaretEcho riding her horse. Shadowy figure alert! Ah, it's Nicolas. Who recognized MargaretEcho when no one else did. Nice turn of phrase.

I have a memory that we have seen the flashing lights in Topher's room before.
But I felt sure that the flashing lights and then Topher running around pushing buttons, and flipping switches was intended to be pure "Frankenstein homage."

I remember it from when they were "formatting" for lack of a better word, Sierra and Dominic, with the acupuncture probes. I don't remember so much from when they were imprinting the actives. Perhaps we just haven't seen it before. Or, perhaps like you said, it's to up his "mad scientist" quotient.

Part I Boyd and Topher. Business has been slow since "The Incident." So we can give you life after death. Only if we really like you. Sounds like Rachael was right. Is there a risk? Not if I know what I'm doing. So there's a risk then. Life after death. Where does that end? Same place it begins. Death. Huh? Maybe referencing that this is temporary? Because she comes back to have them take her back out of this body? That was my take on it, at least. Ohh, OK.

Part III Boyd's skeptical about the immortality dealio. And he's really philosophical about it. You realize that's the beginning of the end. Life everlasting, it's the ultimate quest. It's Christianity, most religions. Morality doesn't exist without the fear of death [I'm not sure that's true, actually]. I'm not interested in presiding over the downfall of Western civilization. Or are you? Supposed to be a one time thing. Question of whether Margaret will voluntarily go in peace. Boyd's investigation into Margaret's murder. Victor as a horse breeder. Emo. Elmo. Heh. Talking with Margaret's daughter. Ballard asking FBI lady for another favor. Dolls are Missing People, they jut don't know it. November's real name is Polly Keller. And just like that, the files are gone. Is Ballard really surprised that the FBI is tapped? On the plus side, FBI lady is now intrigued. Also, does that mean that the other Dolls are leaving their fingerprints all over the place and they could be implicated in whatever crimes they are involved in? Topher and Sierra still hanging out. Sleepies. Actives when they're not active? Margaret talking with her husband. Trying to see if daughter was right about him being a playa. FBI woman is now intrigued, which is good. But I worry she may also now be in danger. That's what I was thinking too. I was like yay!!!...oh no!!!

The reason the guy playing Margaret's brother looked so familiar is that he was Mitchum Huntsberger on Gilmore Girls; he's also a Joss repeat: he played the Sherrif on The TrainJob in Firefly.
The guy who played Nicholas was on Dawson's Creek a lot, and three episodes of Bionic Woman.
Julia, finally getting around to watching it.

Also: Topher had imaginary friends as a kid; Sierra's programming has the perfection that comes with practice.

Oh, yeah. Those shoes were hideous (IMO). The ones she wore with the sleek black dress to her own funeral.

Okay, so this week's ep totally backs up Dave's "immortality" theory. I wonder how many others are doing regular "backups" at Dollhouses around the world?
And has Joss read "Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom", one of many novels that uses this particular sf trope...back yourself up, so if something happens to you (or you get older than you'd like), you can have your consciousness transplanted into a clone.
I wonder if the Dollhouse is also working on making clones, since there's (slightly) less moral problems in transmitting one's consciousness to a clone of oneself than into someone else's body.

So Sonny Boy was the creepy stalker. "After I tried to kiss you" I think it would have been funnier if he knew before. Dollhouse in Manhattan. Huh. Gambling is all about ups and downs. I figured he was a gambler, what with the percentages talk. This is what Margaret wanted. Adoration and affection and weeping into her bosom. And Victor has found something nasty. So maybe this is why Sonny boy didn't want him sold. 4 Million dollar pet. Oh, god! got him in the gut with a bale hook!!!! And Boyd is on top of things both outside the house and inside. "So Topher can make friends" if he puts them together with his own two hands. DeWitt is aware, and indulgent. "Only happens once a year" and "Lonliness leads to nothing good" and "those who most need to reach out are sometimes the least capable" Wow. Need to rewatch that bit. Letter convicting Hubby in her own handwriting! Brilliant! But Hubby was dumb as a stick regarding horses...Sonny boy. Knew it. He was the one using the masking agent. and she's gonna git it again!!!!!! Unless what? Did anyone besides me see Topher's implant into Sierra as an echo of Warren's Build-a-Girl project?

I saw it a Build-a-Twin project (even if this year's version was a girl twin). It felt like when SMG played Faith in Buffy - Not just the common interests, the mannerisms, everything about NerdSierra was Topher. Who else would understand him? Who else would play with him? leftylady
