Episode starts with a whole series of those lines where it sounds like they're in the same conversation but then it turns out they're completely on different tracks. Those always make me kind of squirmy. Partly sympathetic embarassment, partly the unsettling realisation that one could have many such interactions in a day and never even notice.
Cordy and her visionity problem seems like Angel and his soul problem but Cordy can just take a potion and get over it. Must make even more ouch for Angel.
Everybody being all awkward and interrupted.
Wes moving over so Gunn isn't in the picture, classic creepy stalker Wes.
... I
like him, but he's not ... well of all the ways he's grown that 'emotional maturity of a blueberry scone' thing isn't one of them.
Sending Gunn and Fred following. That's Wes deciding with his smart brains, clearly.
There's a conversation with Angel and Wes in a bookshop about everyone else's romance and years of slash reading is making it real hard not to see a whole other conversation than the one about girls. I mean, he's comparing Angel to books! That's geek love!
... "Unique" + "I got three of them" = win. Angel needs hugs.
Groo needs hugs. Is sad.
"You are afraid that with me you will be less than what you were"
Interesting problem to explore really.
Fred and Gunn being all distracted. Sweet yet problem.
Wes and Angel reacting to Groo in Angel's clothes ;D
"I need you to help me have sex. With Groo." They're really going for maximum awkward this time.
... although happy threesome visions be interesting...
... actually there's so many things in this ep that would work better if everyone was dating everyone...
Demon brothel with disturbing extra smile.
And weirdly cute pillow fight room.
"Your coat is singing"
the tree root thing is disturbing.
Groo getting impaled, really non fun.
"That's my shirt" ;D
Groo fights enthusiasticly but Angel fights smart. Nice.
"Magnificently stupid"
"No one's using my heart at the moment anyway"
And the being dead for the win. Yeah, that makes a guy feel special.
Wes and Fred and Gunn. Giving the two of them a 'good work' but only Gunn the telling off? Treating Fred different? Or treating his friend different? "I'm not so sure that's any of your business"
Not friends?
"What are you her brother" "apparently" ouch.
Angel and Groo being way similar. "How many guys would just give away the credit like that" Er, yeah, Cordy? Eyes open ears working?
Angel trying to be sweet with the money and the sending Cordy away on holiday.
And it is really sweet.
But, well, if her priority is the visions and the saving the world, that's... not wildly helpful.
And Angel is being the boss a bit as well.
Lorne and the baby soooo cute!
... green dude with horns being baby cute...
Angel smiling at the baby soooo sooo cute!
... and this is the one where Wes does the translation? Oooh dear.
All this division and
"I thought I was alone" "Yeah so did I" sounds a bit like one of those cute happy endings where two people are not-alone together, but Angel is being not-alone with cute baby, and now Wes is very alone with this translation.
"The Father will Kill the Son"
And after this it's all dominos. Crunch.
