Topher all beat up? When is this from? And then, Sierra one year ago . . . In Australia. And that is the awful guy who put her in the Dollhouse, isn’t it?
He’s a collector. Now in hindsight this is disturbing.
Echo is there as an active, isn’t she?
Rossum is “thanking” Nolan by helping him get her. But do they know yet how much help they’re gonna provide?
Can’t be bought, but can she be lured? My bet is no, or he wouldn’t have ended up doing what he did.
“Why don’t you let us build you a woman?” Because that wouldn’t satisfy his need to make her bend to him. Money versus power. Medical genius is power. Art is power. And we have the repeating theme from the last ep of women having some kind of “waiting game” power, indirect power. Because, of course, having the real thing would be too pushy.
Victor there too, helping set the stage. And even then, he and Sierra are making a connection.
“You don’t need my help. You’re like the bull, strong, yet with the horns. . . fierce.” HA!! Oh, that is priceless. Always being cheated on, is he?
Nothing in this world could ever make her love him. Well, except for putting someone more compliant in her head.
And of course he’s keeping little mementos, little proofs that he had her.
Sierra looks sadder than Victor, and yet Echo looks sadder than Sierra. Who is remembering what? Echo remembers the most.
Topher over the edge!
Sierra hates the bad man. He makes her sad over and over. “You’re not looking hard enough.”
Ah. Topher doesn’t know what’s going on. Hmmm. So, as far as he knew, she was paranoid schizophrenic. Did Nolan drug her or induce that somehow to slip her through the security and get her in the Dollhouse? Or was she just telling the truth and it sounded like paranoia?
“I’m not the bad man.” No, in this instance, you’re
not the bad man, Topher! Keep investigating!
Oh, Boyd. Now you are security man . . .
Ha! Normal boring brain, like yours. And yes, Nolan did drug Priya.
Oh wow! They didn’t know that Sierra went to Nolan when they let them all escape before? How many folks at Rossum are helping to hide this? Who knows and who doesn’t?
“No doubt that’s why you asked me here, to caution me yet again about your policy on repeat engagements, right?”
“In a way.”
“You know I’m not interested in any of your other actives.”
“Oh, that’s a non-issue. I would no sooner allow you near one of our other actives than I would a mad dog near a child.”
Adelle. How I adore you sometimes. And I can do this even while knowing you’re also part of the icky.
Hmmm. Will Adelle really be able to stop it? How high up does the cover-up go in Rossum, hmmmmm? He wants Sierra forever. And seems to think he’s got the juice to get that done.
“If we do this, what does it make us?”
“What are we already?”
Good point. Also? I bet this guy was in on it. Aaaaaand of course he knows about and taunts her with Miss Lonelyhearts and Victor. “Everyone likes to take a little something home from the office once and a while.” Oooooh! What other dirt does he have on her?
Now the strong-arm. You’ll run it the way we tell you to.
Awwwww. I’m such a sucker for childlike Victor. “Now you don’t have to use this color anymore.” Sweet. Sad.
Oh, I love when Adelle and Topher go at it like this. “You, Topher, were chosen because you have no morals. You have always thought of people as playthings. This is not a judgment.” **shivers**
OMG, they are killing me with all the layers! Boyd is figuring out what’s up with Echo. Adelle is ordering Topher to do something that even he sees is bad and ordering Boyd to make sure he does it. And Echo is scratching potentially "take down the Dollhouse planning" or maybe potentially serial killer messages on the inside of her
prison cell bed-pod! **flails**
So, they really do just keep recycling the names as they replace the bodies. Just one more tiny disturbing detail in a pool of creepy, eh?
Ha! And Joss is recycling lines – the whole hell, no it’s L.A. thing.
This is really rather horrible, listening to what Priya is saying and knowing it was all true.
And Adelle just keeps on drinking.
Somehow, I’m hoping Topher put a little something extra into Sierra . . .
Oh. OMG, did he put the original Priya in her? For a moment, I wondered if he would put the original Priya in another body and let her go free in a way that would hide her from Nolan.
When did you learn how to lie, Echo? Ah, the fall, the fall. And Boyd just wants to warn her that others would get her in trouble if they knew. Hmmmmm.
Some people are not ready to wake up.
A bad thing is coming, a storm, and they have to wake up.
**shivers**
It’s not you, I managed to fall for someone else. Ha! A nice revenge. Gonna fight fair? Yeah, I wouldn’t count on him fighting fair.
And she gets him. Over and over.
Nicely creepy to see one of her paintings right behind her.
Oh my. Boyd takes charge. **gets just a little bit hot over take-charge-let’s-get-rid-of-the-body-Boyd** Is that so wrong of me? And since she’s supposed to “marry” him, well, they both can just disappear “together”, can’t they?
“You had a moral dilemma. Your first. And it didn’t go well.”
Yes, it’s definite. I love Boyd.
Oh, crap. They’re putting her back?
Because, while she wasn’t “broken” before, she is now?
Nooooooooo!!
“Are we happy here?”
And, for once, Topher has to say he doesn’t know, doesn’t know what’s going on inside their heads. That must kill him.
Oh, interesting! “If you wake me up again, put me back to where I was a year ago.” This is the hook that’s gotten them other actives – wipe this, delete this.
Now Boyd is helping Echo, too? So, will Boyd and Ballard eventually work together with her?
And what an awesome final image – breaking the previous pattern of isolation and false calm with each in their own pod. Now two are sharing one and the top doesn’t slide down and one is still sitting outside, reading. Three have woken up!
