“People? Will find out? Caroline, don’t be silly. We both know you could vanish off the face of the earth and not a soul would notice you were gone.” He’s very effective at the whole sound-calm-and-casually-almost-friendly-as-you-say-scary-shit thing, isn’t he?
Oh, cool! We’re getting a bit of background on why Caroline is special – biologically. An explanation for why Echo could have self-created perhaps? She’s “special” with “amazing potential” that he wants to see how far it will go. So, he was running her as an experiment from the beginning. Now, to find out at what point in time Adelle and Caroline (or perhaps it was Echo?) set up their plan to take down the Dollhouse!
Interesting take on his role of protecting her.
Ha! Victor and his “no, actually I could probably get over it”.
But of course they’re gonna go back and try to help.
So, now that the tracking thing is out of Mellie, does that mean she’ll stay Mellie forever? Did that also remove the “upload and download personalities” hardware? Ah, but of course now they can do that without the chair, so it doesn’t really matter. Oy! At least they told her about the implant and that it wasn’t real.
“Maybe Echo and Caroline are not getting along.” ;D
Boyd is so determined. Does he want them all at Rossum to finish his plan?
Walk in the front door, “we have something Rossum wants”.
Smiley face “press enter”. It’s like Alice in Wonderland! “Eat me” or “drink me” and you don’t know what the hell might happen if you do.
“No matter who I am, no matter who they put in my head, I always remember you. That never changes. But if I turn evil? Shoot me.” Ha! “Seriously wound me, then. Just . . . try to stay away from the junk.” Haaaaa!
Topher!! Topher!! So who is in Topher’s body? Boyd? Did he do something?
Oh! Bad-head-guy is in Saunders, yes? Or Saunders too? Is he still in Boyd, or not? In Boyd and Saunders and now Topher too?
Clyde! Clyde is actually the bad guy perhaps? And Boyd/other guy is maybe actually the good guy? Or both are bad?
Complex! **forces self to just sit and let it unfold, not try to guess it all**
This actor is so good at being Topher. So Sierra!Priya and Topher!in!Victor know that Boyd is involved in some way – “he’s working for Rossum”.
Caroline is going to save, not the world, but the “deserving few”. Oh! Oh! So, they wanted to know how to control having personalities in them – how to forge your own new self or keep hold of yourself? So that when the world goes all apocalyptical the top dogs of Rossum can hang on when everyone else is subsumed? But, Victor and Priya are showing signs of being able to hold on to stuff too. Maybe it happens to more people than they think, eh?
OK, I’m thinking Topher is actually still Topher, he just made a copy. And Boyd and the other Head Guy are both bad and the other Clyde inside the Attic was put there because that copy wasn't sufficiently evil, maybe? Now, watch me change my mind again in another couple of minutes.
We’ve been betrayed! By my best man-friend! (Heee! And he still has a sort of crush on Boyd – wanting his autograph.)
Oh, Topher. “Hopefully, Victor and Sierra came back, fired it up and are on their way here with reinforcements. Go team!” Oh, Topher. **face-palm**
Everything is in there – it’s all inside Echo!Caroline.
That’s what Boyd was looking for, the tech to wipe and imprint anyone anywhere. But to destroy it or use it or what?
“It doesn’t work!?”
“Well, good!”
Mass production? That is NOT good!
“They’re gong to weaponize my tech.”
Oh, don’t listen to Boyd! “All you have to do is fix one of them.”
“Why am I here, Paul?”
“I guess . . . I couldn’t let you go.”
“That’s very sweet.” (It’s really not, is it?) “I don’t believe you. I’m not real.”
Oooooh! The Mellie program is also a sleeper assassin! That Adelle can control! Maybe
that’s why she’s there!
“A team of engineers couldn’t do that. But you, Topher Brink, did it in ten minutes.” (Ah. This is why you wanted him here, isn’t it? And should you be talking this way, ‘cuz he’ll know you were in on everything. Or do you not care at this point if he figures it out?) “I’m glad I chose you.” Eeeep! It’s scary time now! And here is Echo!! Eeeeep! OH and here is Clyde!in!Saunders!! EEeeep!!
“You’re here because you’re my family. I love you guys.” Ok. Didn’t see that one coming.
Yay! Smart Mellie!
Everyone’s had to sacrifice. Everyone’s had to grow. “I pushed you and you pushed right back.”
“Well, Boyd. You’re right! I’m the tin man, she’s the lion, and you’re the head of the lollipop guild
who’s a traitor!”
“I wanted you all with me. Except for Paul. There’s always one relative you can live without. And frankly, I never understood what you saw in him.”
They can choose. Be the destroyers or the destroyed.
“You’re spectacularly insane.” ;D
Her unique physiology, they’re going to “harvest” it, so they can be like her. Yep! I was right! (At least about that bit. I mean, it doesn't actually make that much sense, but I'm going with it, I'm going with it.)
Damn. Boyd remembered Mellie’s sleeper program too.
“Go ahead and shoot. I’m sure I’ll be far more talkative with my brains splattered all over Topher.” Damn, Adelle, I still adore you.
Damn! He had a tape of her voice! (I was sooooo hoping he would have not known/remembered about Mellie and then Adelle would get Mellie in a room with all the baddies and turned her loose. But that would be too easy for our heroes, I guess.)
See – another example of elements of other personalities being remembered thru the programming. See, I think Boyd’s folks are wrong that Caroline is completely unique. There are smaller examples in all sorts of people. Who’s to say that anyone, if imprinted long enough, with enough experiences, would begin to bring them together more?
Oh, CRAP!! Mellie!!!
Spinal fluid extraction? Really? **goes back to ignoring the science and just enjoying the kick-ass action and story**
Victor and Sierra! Topher’s back-up plan for the win!!
“Do me a favor. Call us whatever you want, just not family.”
“I did all this. I’m the one who brings about the thought-pocalypse.”
“Thought-pocalypse?”
“Is brain-pocalypse better? I figure, if I’m responsible for the end of the world, I get to name it.”
Army of one! Are you still me? ‘Cuz I could use someone to help shoulder the guilt. Heee!
Yeah, I knew it was still Clyde. The giving in and drop of gun was too easy, too quick.
Oh, crap! CRAP!! Paul doesn’t know about Boyd yet. Adelle triggered Mellie, to him. Nooooooooooo!!
“I have 20 houses with bodies waiting for me.” Damn. (Excellent fight, by the way.)
Should have killed Whiskey, Echo. And Poor Paul, finally catching a clue.
OMG!!!! Topher with the gun and then Boyd.
Oh, wow. “Did I fall asleep?” “For a little while.” Eeeeeep!!
Now what? They program Boyd to dismantle the Rossum system for them? Oh, god. Use him as a human delayed fuse? Well, I can’t decide if that is more or less disturbing than my plan.
“I try to be my best.” You should have given him a timeframe of how long to wait before pulling the pin. Or perhaps a bit of you was kind of OK with going boom.
I’m not so sure you saved the world. I think you should have built a plan that was more sure you got all the tech, everywhere it might have been sent to by Rossum headquarters. And yeah, looks like you didn’t get it all.
I think my equally disturbing plan of programming Boyd to stay in charge but be your puppet while you use him to get all the tech back and destroy it and wipe the records, etc. would have been a better plan.
I mean, I understand the appeal of "make it all go boom", but it's not that simple.
