OK, rewatch of epitaph 1 before watching this one. There's still a lot that doesn't make sense. Here's to seeing whether this episode can clarify. 2020, Nevada-California border. These 3, still on the run. Lost, but not gone. Neuropolis. Did Topher name it that? Board members looking for new bodies to imprint. Oh hey, Ballard. Yeah, the tech got out of control. Topher trying to heal the world. Awww...Priya and Tony's kid. The gang's created a scene of domestic bliss...Oh, this must be Safe Haven. Talking about a giant reset button. Tony/Victor...is leading a Mad Max army? Eh? Priya and Tony's relationship problems Echo and Ballard's relationship problems Ooh, Dollhouse has been rebuilt. Alpha!!! A stable and not psychotic Alpha!!! Ah, Topher created a nest out of one of the doll's pods. Bennett's lecture. Every action effects our neural topography. We literally become what we do, not what we've done or what we will do. We are best defined by our actions in the moment. Ballard as Echo's last imprint. I bet she's going to enjoy herself tonight.

Despite an incredibly shakey start, this show turned out to be quite interesting. That being said, I'm not really inspired to buy the DVDs or rewatch it anytime soon. Joss continues to display a talent for storytelling and finding talent. Enver Gjokaj and Dichen Lachman were a pleasant surprise. I'll be following their careers with great interest, as well as the other core actors (except, see below). Eliza Dushku, on the other hand, was disappointing. I was greatly anticipating watching her carry her own show, but in the end she definitely turned out to be the weakest link. I find myself not caring much at all about where her career goes from here. I commend Joss et al for diving into the murky waters of body horror and sexual politics, but clearly there's a long way to go, both amongst the audience and cast/crew, in really fully exploring these issues. And again, the next time Joss wants to create a show, he should seriously forget about Fox and go to HBO, Showtime, or even AMC.
