Coach Locke and the tale of the Human Reproductive System. Benry?! Benry at the school?! European history. Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!! "Jacob had a thing for numbers." Heeeee!! Hmmmm. How much manipulation did Jacob supposedly do just by giving the kid a pencil or whatever? Protect the island from nothing. Hmmmm. "It will be perfectly fine without you." So, FLocke can only leave the island with someone else? Why do I think it can't be that easy/simple.

So he's a teacher. Excellent. That fits his personality, some.
BEN IS A TEACHER THERE?!?!?! FUCK, OF COURSE HE TEACHES HISTORY!
<==========Whoosh!
Meanwhile back at the creepy ass cave..
Jacob was the one who writed them.
Each of the ones that Jacob touched.
and numerical values assigned to each one of them, but only the Oceanic Six were numbers that survived. Wait, was Kate there?
Sawyer as the next Jacob, but in Smokey's hands. Wait, Locke was not an Oceanic Six.
three choices..
get off the island and never look back.. but where will the narnia wardrobe take them now?
"Ready to go home?" "Hell yes"
Why do I think that this may collapse the two worlds together in an awkward way?

Locke's very bad, no good, day. Oh! But he's engaged to what's her name! So, there's a big difference between island!Locke and Not!Island!Locke. Also? His dad? Hmmmm! Was he really at a conference and was lying to Boone on the plane? Or is he lying to what's her name. Destiny! Destiny! No escaping, not for me!!OMG, is that smokey's point of view!? HI-larious!! Richard in a sack. Oh my. I'd put Richard in my sack any day. *Guffawed in passing*

How did I totally miss the part where Helen said she and Locke could elope to Vegas with "my parents and your dad" (emphasis mine)? Suggesting that in the non-crash 'verse Locke either had a great foster father or that his bio dad isn't a totally heartless bastard? And if his bio dad wasn't a THB, does that mean he never crossed paths with Sawyer's parents?

Also, there was one shot in particular of the mysterious blond kid that made me wonder if he was actually Aaron--something about his eyes immediately reminded me of Claire.

How refreshing to see AU Locke living a happy life, despite being wheelchair-bound. Of course, if he's getting along with his father, then who caused him to lose the use of his legs?
Loved Benry the History Teacher!
Why doesn't Sawyer care even for Kate anymore? (I don't care for Kate, but I thought he did)
I didn't see Kate's name in the cave - wonder if she'll end up making some significant choice between a "claimed" Sawyer and Jack...Would the conflict between Smokey and Jacob represent Faith and Reason, Evil and Good, or both?
No idea how the writers will resolve even a quarter of all the hanging plot threads. At least tonight's ep was better than last week.
How was Claire "claimed" - I don't remember her being shot or injured, just the Christian-figure leading her away.
Still no Vincent sighting. And not enough of Richard, who has much better sense than Sawyer, though that's not surprising.

Some answers they gave us this week: Jacob is truly dead. His body turned to white ash (opposite of the black ash of Smokey). Flocke (why are you calling him that, Matthew?) used to be a man. And now he is trapped in Locke's body. One rule (of the game?) is that Smokey/Locke can't kill. Jacob had a thing for numbers. That is all. All of the people with a line through their name are dead. Kate wasn't on the list that we could see. Smokey is afraid of the little blonde boy. (Aaron?)

Period. Because he couldn't kill Jacob directly - had to have Ben do it for him. And he didn't kill Richard, although it looked like he did. Another explanation could be that he couldn't kill Jacob (only) and also couldn't kill Sawyer - who is to be Jacob's replacement. We did see Smokey kill Jacob's guards, so unless they were already dead (!), he did kill. So...why could Sawyer see the kid, but Richard couldn't?

Killing the guards is why I questioned the "can't" kill. And -- what is the significance of the title "The Substitute." Locke is the substitute for the smoke monster? Sawyer is supposed to be the substitute for Jacob? But Smokey didn't like Jacob so he is recruiting Sawyer for something else -- something to do with helping him to get off the island. Also, it's one thing to be switching back and forth between island Jack and non-crash Jack, etc but the real island Locke is dead so we seem to be switching between S.M. Locke and non-crash Locke. A bit different.

How refreshing to see AU Locke living a happy life, despite being wheelchair-bound. Of course, if he's getting along with his father, then who caused him to lose the use of his legs? Yes! And I'm glad they showed us thru the ep that really any suckiness of his life tended to be due to his own actions, his own dissatisfaction. So, once he makes up him mind to stop thinking his life sucks, then he can see it really doesn't suck. I think Sawyer is going thru a bit of a depression right now. Not unsurprisingly, of course, but it is causing him to do perhaps unwise things. Like follow FLocke. ;D I want to know this too. Once she had the baby, for example, was she vulnerable to being taken over by Smokey or some other Island Element?
I Must Have More Pretty Richard!

And I call him FLocke because he's "FakeLocke", but I don't know if that's the same reason that Matthew does. I think the little blond kid is Jacob growing up again. If for no other reason than because I think it would be awesome. ;D

Yay, a Locke/NotLocke Episode!
Teaser
In LA.
Oh, equipment malfunction. And sprinklers. It goes from bad to worse.
So Helen and Lock are happily engaged in this reality. And his dad appears to be a decent enough guy. This version of Locke is a lot more self confident than the original flavor.
Locke was at a conference in Australia.
Who knows, maybe it's destiny.
Back on the island. Cool. Smoke Monster Cam.
Dude, poor Richard, all strung up in a tree like that and frightened out of his wits.
Time to talk. Is that a promise?
