Haha! Thanks, Sara. My FAVORITE Onion offering. "Not only do Americans have most of Tuesday morning to contend with, but all of Tuesday afternoon and then Tuesday night," National Labor Relations Board spokesman David Prynn said. "If our calculations are correct, there is a chance we are in effect closer to last weekend than the one coming up." Added Prynn: "Fuck."

Good Tuesday news. The groundhogs in our area have been snowed in, so no seeing of their shadows is expected today. Yay! An early Spring! ETA: Plus....LOST is on tonight.

Morning S'cubies! I seemed to set of a cascade last night Wedding Squees: We think we've found my engagement ring... We're going to go to a jeweler to see if we can find something similar before we order this one, just because I've never tried a ring in that style before, but it is simple and elegant and I like the fact that it is a ruby and not a diamond. Not to mention the tension setting will catch on my knitting less than a prong setting would have. To go with it, These will probably be our bands, or at least something very similar. All three are titanium, which we like because we both seem to be developing nickel allergies and white gold is out and we don't want a soft metal, so there goes silver and neither of us like yellow gold. We've got most of the ceremony planned, it will have a ring exchange and a handfasting. I plan on weaving the cord that will bind our hands together. No attendants, Jason and I will both enter from opposite sides, he won't be waiting at the altar. He'll most likely be wearing a pair of khakis and a natural or cream colored linen shirt that will be the same fabric as my over dress. I'll be in a white linen underdress with long "angel" sleeves which will also be off the shoulder loose and flowing with red trim along the neckline and sleeves that will match the handties. Over it will be a sleeve less over dress that is high waisted (think something like Italian Ren), but the skirt will be split so you can see the underdress. My hair will probably be down, although I may look into an herbal wreath, but even then it will probably still be down. I'll be carrying a chalice instead of a bouquet and we will both be barefoot. I think I've found a stationary suite I like for both the invitations and ceremony programs. It involves fabric and ribbon and my sewing machine. There may even be paper involved It looks like we're going to skip all the "traditional" reception games, no bouquet toss, no garter, no dj, but if people want to bring music and dance that's ok, no formal toasts. We may have a Quaker friendship circle before or immediately after the ceremony (we're not sure yet) where anyone who wants to say something nice can. We will however be asking all our friends to bring their favorite games (board or field). Jason and I can think of nothing that is more us than to have all our nearest and dearest playing and laughing and having a good time with us. So all the fun stuff said, here is my wedding whines: Still waiting for the doofuses at various city/state institutes to answer the phone or check their email so that I can pin down a location. My first two choices are Dad's house and Rich's house but the size of our guest list just makes it impossible. With an anticipated 75 people they are just to small. If I had my way we would find a way to cut that list in half, but we just can''t seem to be able to do it. So instead we're looking into a city park near Rich's house (like 2 miles from it) which has a gorgeous old tower that would make a great back drop for photos and a pavilion in case of rain, or the state park near my dad's house that has the advantage of a lake our guests could swim in, seeing as the handfasting will be smack dab in the middle of August, hiking trails and gorgeous woods and of course it's VT so everyplace has mountains. The only thing that has me kind of upset is I really want to have our pictures taken at my mothers bench, which is in my Dad's backyard and in front of Jan's plaque in Montpelier, the day of the ceremony. Unfortunately no matter where we have the ceremony, I can't think of a way to do that which doesn't involve more than an hours travel for 2 pictures. Sigh. I'll figure something out. That sounds wonderful. I'm so excited for you!!!

Yeah, I had heard that. But I prefer to believe in my local groundhogs......for sanity's sake. In other words. Phil can bite me.

Watched 2 eps of early AtS this morning, the one in which we lose Doyle the Hero and the other one in which we gain Wesley, the Rogue Demon Hunter and get to hear Cordy say "What's a rogue demon?" Back to work.

Watched 2 eps of early AtS this morning, the one in which we lose Doyle the Hero and the other one in which we gain Wesley, the Rogue Demon Hunter and get to hear Cordy say "What's a rogue demon?" Back to work. Ah. Excellent Angel eps. ETA (from Heroes):
CORDELIA: Doyle, I didn't mean it like that. I'm sorry. I'm just... I feel kind of hopeless with him down there doing the non-profit brooding. It's not like he has a heart. How could it be so broken?
DOYLE: I guess seeing Buffy again just got him where he lives.
CORDELIA: That's all very sad, but we live here too.
DOYLE: I'll talk to him.
CORDELIA: (excited) Maybe if we get him a costume!
DOYLE: A costume?
CORDELIA: Well, the guy is a bona fide hero, would it kill him to put on some tights and a cape and garner us a little free publicity?
DOYLE: I don't see Angel putting on some tights... Oh, now I do, and it's *really* disturbing.

Mars and a Colorful Lunar Fog Bow Credit & Copyright: Wally Pacholka (AstroPics.com, TWAN) Explanation: [/b] Even from the top of a volcanic crater, this vista was unusual. For one reason, Mars was dazzlingly bright two weeks ago, when this picture was taken, as it was nearing its brightest time of the entire year. Mars, on the far upper left, is the brightest object in the above picture. The brightness of the red planet peaked last week near when Mars reached opposition, the time when Earth and Mars are closest together in their orbits. Arching across the lower part of the image is a rare lunar fog bow. Unlike a more commonly seen rainbow, which is created by sunlight reflected prismatically by falling rain, this fog bow was created by moonlight reflected by the small water drops that compose fog. Although most fog bows appear white, all of the colors of the rainbow were somehow visible here. The above image was taken from high atop Haleakala, a huge volcano in Hawaii, USA. [/quote] Oh, is gorgeous! Julia, and I am n a new page so we can see it again, yay!

Good Tuesday news. The groundhogs in our area have been snowed in, so no seeing of their shadows is expected today. Yay! An early Spring! ETA: Plus....LOST is on tonight. Ground fog at dawn here; only groundhogs hovering at an altitude of about 35ft could see their shadows on the surface of the fog. Julia, oh, dear.
