So, now Claire's sorry now. That's a switch...or just part of a plan between her and Locke to get Kate on their side? Sawyer came clean about Whidmore. Miles and John. 'Who's Sawyer?' Who indeed. He HAS been hunting down Sawyer. Anthony Cooper. Do we know this name?FUCK....surprise! It's female. Kate. Ooooo.....He llikes. Annnnnddd...we're back on the island. And Sawyer is .....hungry. "Let them fight it out." "We're taking the sub." Going down? LOL! Oooo...Richard's backstory. Yep. that would be Locke's father - who is invited to John & Helen;s wedding in one month. Will Det. James appear to bust / kill him at the nuptials? or will it be time to lay aside his Mirrorworld vengence? I'm loving these Sideways stories. Some may be dismayed at all the open parts of the Sideways lives but I'm really, really fascinated by the possibilities. leftylady

Huh. I 'll bet Miles' talent is particularly useful in homicide investigations.CHARLOTTE!!!! Of COURSE! his parents and hers were friends on the island..*fans self* Still the voracious reader. and she's looking for something else. Found his Sawyer book. well, hell, that was abrupt and short. <======whoosh! Kate's dress? Sayid is all dead inside. And there's the Crazy Claire attack. Well, he caught her attention without quite slapping her upside the head with a rifle. ....This airplane looks a lot better off than it really should. did it get translated down to the gournd intact like that, or what? Oooh! drag marks! Which lead to a huge-ass pile of bodies. This I did not see coming. I thought the plane had sorta gone on without them. What is Liz Lemon doing on the island? Yes, Miles is still with his father in the alt-life. Facts not yet in evidence: in this life - is his father still a scientist (working at the museum anyway)? Did he ever go to the Island with Dharma, which we know from Roger Linus exists here too? Were Miles and Charlotte born on the island as before? For that matter, does Miles still possess his dead-talking skills? leftylady

I'm loving the constants and the variables in the Sideways stories. Clues to connections, yes - but am wary of assumptions of offscreen characters' attributes in this life.
Loved the obligatory Looking Glass World mirrors scene and how James smashed his. Are we to take the mirrors as symbolic of the relationship between original story and this one? or just a continuing motif?
"Recon" - reconnaissance and re-conning the con for our resident con man. Conman's wife. Lies and truth. Who to believe? Lot to think about.
**Smoke Monster Locke says Sawyer is the "best liar" but he tells Widmore and Smokey the truth. **Locke tells the band of folowes part of the truth - but not the whole truth. He comes clean with liar Sawyer. **Is "crazy mother" the truth for Locke? or just another lie to manipulate Kate? I'm not going to speculate on Smokey's real mom until I know for sure. **Is Claire truthful when apologizing to Kate? I don;t trust the new Island Crazy Lady - after Locke talked to her in priviate.....
LA Det. Ford is a bad liar - **Conman's Wife saw right thru his ruse. Then he tells her the truth but she won't believe him. Charlotte wants the truth about his being a cop. And he finally drops the line and tells her. **Miles doesn't buy his trip to Palm Springs.
(probably more I'm missing)

Mirror world - is it an alternate reality or something else?
I saw a post after "LA X" about something Faraday said after finding Jughead about creating a cataclysm - needing it to be strong enough to force a re-set. If not strong enough, the timeline would split in 2, both real., and run separately until eventually rejoining and resolving.
hmmmmm....... The bomb didn't go off unitl Juliet hit it - too weak to work? caused the split? destined to rejoin per Daniel?
I wish I know the episode and the exact quote.

I was all - what is wrong with you Ms. Lemon? You don't know what you're missing. Sawyer was pointing his gun at you and everything. Seriously! How can you not feel the power of Sawyer's mighty gun? (I tell you, in a Sawyer ep the penis puns/metaphors just don't stop. Heeee! And now I'm watching the movie ad and even the line "release the Kraken" sounds smutty to me now. I am 12 years old, I swear! ;D) LOL, in a recent SPN episode, Sam was asking Dean why he wasn't going out to hit the bars on Valentine's Day, since there's lots of lonely desperate women out ("unattached drifter's Christmas"), and he said something like, "Dude, it's Valentine's Day--aren't you going to 'unleash the Krakken'?" ;D Because in my world, yes, it all does lead back to SPN.

Does Claire know the REAL reason why Kate claimed Aaron as her son? That the convict used her son for pure selfishness? If so, then she would have a good reason to go after Kate.

I first read this episode title as "Retcon" which is actually very different from "Recon" Teaser Ah. getting back to Sawyer...who's taken up residence in Claire's Lair? Oh and there's Jin. Sawyer *really* wants off the island; Jin *really* wants to find Sun. Sawyer gives his word to support Jin. I smell conflict. Claire's Lair is quite an impressive structure from the outside. NotLocke's Band of Buggered. Ooh, Sawyer gives Kate the cold shoulder. Maybe that will make her stop her wishywashyness Back in LA. Sawyer's a cop. In a bad B movie.

Part I
Back on the island.
Kate and Claire.
Can Kate please explain the circumstances behind taking Aaron? I mean it's not like Aaron was cruelly ripped from Claire's hands.
NotLocke lies about the being the Smoke Monster.
Kate is trying to figure out Claire. She's as perplexed as the rest of us.
Back in LA
Calling for Anthony Cooper.
Alternate Sawyer storyline is loosing me.
Back on the Island.
NotLocke's Band of Buggered.
NotLocke hasn't revealed all the details of his plan.
When lying doesn't work, NotLocke tells the truth.
They're convinced that they're protecting the island from me, when all I want to do is leave. Perhaps they're protecting the rest of the world from you Mr. NotLockeSmokeMonster.
Ah, the other Kayak.
So Sawyer was shooting at...himself?
Oh, right the other passengers on the Ajeera flight.

Part II
Back in LA
Charlotte! Still an archeologist.
I got to the point in my life where I could become a criminal or a cop, and I chose cop. So the alternate verse is about the road not taken.
I'm guessing that his parents were still conned and killed in this reality, he just made a different choice?
Watership Down Sawyer's still a reader.
Yep.
Back on the Hydra Station.
The cage. The dress. Good times.
Back on the main island.
Kate and Sayid. And Claire. Attacked by crazy on all sides.
NOW NotLocke tells her the truth. Geez.
Back on the Hydra Station.
Where are all the other passengers?
Tracks into the brush.
OMG, they're all dead. The Smoke Monster killed them?
OMG, A new character! Dammit.

Part III
Back in LA.
Have we seen this guy before?
Pretty pointed mentioning of flight 815.
What was Sawyer doing in Australia?
Back on the Hydra Station.
So it was the Smoke Monster, yes?
Trust me. God's got nothing to do with it.
Back on the main island.
NotLocke and Kate.
What is NotLocke's game here, or is he just trying to foment chaos?
Have you ever had an enemy? Some one that you needed to hate? Some one powerful?
Blah blah blah manipulation cakes. But Kate's not buying it.
Back on the Hydra Station.
Sawyer answers many questions. See how it's done?
Yeah, we got plenty of guns.
Dammit, another faction. And they all came on the same plane?
Is your name even Zoe? Is yours Sawyer?
Take me to your leader. *snorfle*
