Had a fun day. Was downtown eating lunch at The Local, an Irish bar, when the Australia vs. Germany game was starting. Folks were attentive, but relatively calm, unlike at Brits, just up the street. As we were leaving for our concert, we could hear them whooping and hollering like mad. During the World Cup, Brits always turns their roof-top lawn bowling area into a big viewing space. I said to my fellow-concert goer "Australia must be doing well" and I guess I was right, eh? Oh, but did I say concert? Because, yes, I was not watching the game, I was off to see the Count Basie Orchestra!! And damn, did they swing. Swing, I tell ya!!! Bill Hughes may not have the best memory for names of songs or players nowadays, but when he gets them going on the music? Rocks. The. House. And Carmen Bradford? Can still punch you right in the heart with "I'd rather drink muddy water". ;D And tonight I want to try to catch up with Dr Who, even as True Blood returns and the Tony's are on. Oy! Oy, I say!!!

If any of my fellow Glee folks are here, I believe Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele will be performing at the Tonys in just a few minutes...

And I am soooooooo far behind in my viewing it's not funny.

Sounds like taping it was a good idea then. ;D Well, I've managed to watch Dr Who and True Blood, so maybe I'll tackle Treme and leave the Tony's for another day. I mean, why not continue the whole being behind thing, since I've gotten so good at it. **facepalm**

Well, well, is that going to make the "she's popular I hate her" folks shut up about whether the young lady can act or what?
Julia, probably not...

Julia-
I didn't get to watch much of the Tonys, nor did I DVR it. To whom are you referring in the previous 2 posts?

Did I say that Tom has leased an apartment in Chicago? About 4 miles north of his sisters', larger and for less rent (location, location, location).
He and Allie drove down yesterday. He'll spend the week tying things up at the office, packing up his current apartment into a one way rental truck and heading back.
Not sure if Allison will hang around to help him drive truck (well, keep him company more likely) or try to catch a SW flight mid-week.
She will be meeting with some VU folks who we know thru both Vanderbilt med school and church who are involved with a medical missions outpost in Mozambique. Her Portuguese skills (?) are coveted.
