Did the doc tell you about swoozling out your mouth with salt water? Also, don't allow the socket to dry out. EDIT: Oh, I see Spring already told you that. Yeah, I must start with the swoozling right after breakfast. At least the mysterious swollen insect bite/sting on my opposite side eyelid is no longer painful: I went through most of yesterday feeling as if I'd been kicked by a horse on both sides of my face. Julia, eating is not much fun, still, and the fun part of diabetes is that *I must eat* Can you make yourself a diabetic-friendly smoothie? My first day after an extraction usually means not just the sore socket but also a near useless jaw at the anesthetic injection sites. Chewing? Not an option. Smoothies got me through the first day or so.

Quiet day, here. I am up two shelves and have all but two...no, three... no four of my BtVS Jossverseaction figures/sets on one shelf; one of the unhung is the 12" Willow that Sam got me for Christmas, the other three are Lorne and Wesley (AtS s4) and Malcolm Reynolds. All of the Trek stuff that was spread all over the house is on shelves now, too, which is also much better. My jaw is much better, and we're having shrimp creole for dinner, so yay for that, too. Julia, now if the damned snow would just go away, things would be copacetic. We got 1.55" of rain overnight according to the rain gauge, and it may freeze tonight. Of course Paul put in the baby tomato plants today, but he's got them protected. I am envious of shelves and space for shelves...I went out to breakfast, and got another pretty box at Joann's - since yesterday they'd got some new ones in, so it's a similar Oriental-ish pattern (same artist) but in blues and greens instead of reds. It'll replace two of the plastic bins holding collage stuff, once I get some more clear plastic envelopes, or maybe I'll just go with file folders. I've moved everything from the pretty plastic boxes that I can't open anymore into less pretty but openable ones. Stupid arthritic hands. Then Paul and I went to the art supply store for another drawing pad for Katherine (I got two this time, so she won't run out) and See's on the way home for Aged Mum's candy. At least when she calls (I wonder if Useless BiL actually showed up, or even called) I can fend off another OMG THE WORLD IS RUNNING OUT OF CHOCOLATE freakout. Paul's here with the takeout, I'd better go be useful. This is only 79 inches of wall mounted glass shelves. To get more shelves I have to pull out the crappy ones that came with the house and build a desk with a set of shelves both behind the computer and at the back of the knee hole. And these were not sufficient even for all my action figures, which is just sad. (all the trek ones are together for the first time though. Julia, woke up w/my face hurting but it's better after a little verticality and swozzling. However, it's just above freezing, and snowing so were stuck here for a while.

Julia My problem is that I can't put my art dolls and collage projects and so forth out in the family areas because they scare The Husband. So they all have to fit in my little 8x10' "studio", along with books and tools and supplies and the sewing cabinet, if I want them out where I can look at them. Again I say, We had a little frost, on top of the shelter Paul built for the baby tomatoes and in the grass, but no hail. The snow level looks pretty low from here. Went walkies to the market. Decided that what I really, really want is a chocolate donut, so I bought one at the Ralphs bakery. Which is bad, but better than buying a whole box of them, yes? My packrat tendencies pay off again - Emily found some vintage-style small glass bottles/bud vases in the Isabella catalog. I got down the boxes of vintage and vintage style bottles and vials I've been collecting in hopes of using them some day, and let her take her pick. Emily is happy, and and some of my stuff is being used instead of taking up storage space. Win-win. She's gone outside to pick some flowers from the yard. I'm going to reorganize the vintage bottles and tins, so with any luck I'll be able to find what I want without looking in two rooms, two boxes and several drawers next time.

This is the cutest little video a friend of mine shared on facebook. I don't know where it originated - a guy was sharing it on FB, but I don't know where he got it, then my friend linked it, etc . . . It is very short (25 secs). The baby just "talks and talks." Click the pic to see it:

Howdy! Cloudy and cold Sunday. Watching golf match play finals (In Tuscon - they had snow on the ground this morning - high of 47!). Desert golf is so interesting to watch. Bright green fairways carved out of the desert. Target golf. Doing laundry (does it ever end?). I need to sort through my warm weather clothes soon, but not today. Chatting with Lew, who stayed over the weekend - they don't have internet at home. Always interesting conversation with that kid. Everything from fermenting food to the state of the union. Undecorating my Christmas tree. I think keeping it up may be jinxing things. We had snow yesterday and they are predicting some for this week. It's just that the lights are so comforting when I come home at night to a dark house. Soon - golf, tho! So time for it to come down! I rewatched Julie/Julia last night. I need to try out the recipe for Boeuf Bourguignon - 'patting the beef dry before browning it'. It's the recipe (according to the movie) that sold the publishers on Julia Child's cookbook. "Yum." Luke Donald on the tee - all in black. He's hot...... as is his game.

She kills me with the intense eye contact, hand gestures . . . she evens says "mamma" in there somewhere, so I think she's trying to get something across. Vince did some babbling of course, but I don't remember it being this continuous. Also, I remember that I could usually understand him, when no one else could. The contractor came by and dropped off the drywall. GULP. So big changes happening this week, as far as covering up the holes in the walls, and Vince's drawings in the smaller room goes. Piano is stll here. Everyone who comes by to see it likes it, and ends up saying they "wish they could take it," but gets put off by the size and weight. We are having a gorgeous day.

You folks in KS stay safe.
We had a tornado touch down in Nashville Thursday night. East side of town (other side from me). Minimal damage for a tornado.
Looks like another round of bad stuff starting in OK and headed here in the AM.
Carolyn's plane took off on time and was due to Chicago at 5. Just got a text that Chicago weather so bad that they had to land to refuel in Peoria and are waiting for permission to proceed to ORD.

It's cloudy here, but nothing bad coming down. No wind. May be low visibility problems, but not thunderstorms or snow.

Thawing. And the grass is taller than it was before the snow, so good for the grass.
Julia, except I need to get somebody to cut it, of course.

Also, watching the red carpet coverage and so far nothing really wows me, except for Helen Mirren looking even better than the last time I saw her, which makes me suspect some serious magical powers.
Julia, hoping we can all put this absurd weather out of our minds and go on as if we were not embarrassed by it

Although less so by the opener and their "banter."
