Up to nine chickens; the four today are not a permanent bunch, two hens to go in with Ian and Sylvia soon, and two young roosters whose fates are less fixed: I expect to keep one of them and put him with te broody hens and then use him to breed to Ian's daughters next year, but they're both "splash" coleration (as is Ian) and... probably not? Did I mention I cracked at least one rib Saturday? I have a sort of reverse-ranbow of broken blood vessals between my fifth and sixth rib , sort of a reverse rainbow of pain. Bah, humbug. Julia, working too hard lately, that's what it is. Yikes! Be careful and go see a doctor! (Or have you?) My boss cracked a rib coughing, and then it punctured his lung. Not a thing to mess with at our age, dear. The kind of injury you mention is almost always connected with low bone density and not much muscle development, not problems I'm troubled by (else I would have broken my hips any number of times in the years you've known me). Julia, made of rubber and springs

Does anyone have Onjel's phone number? Hoping Julia feeling better. Nothing much new in this part of the world. Still no rain. Still much Bobgoodness. Looked at a condo in my complex that is up for sale. It's larger than mine, very reasonably priced and... might be big enough for two... ...someday... Yay for Bobgoodness! Oprah says give it 18 months. I think 3 months you get a good handle on what they are all about. Have you met his family/friends yet? Friends, some. Family, yes. Like the second week. Also attended his daughter's college graduation. He's met all my family except the father and the son. He's also met my BFF Deb and had dinner with the two of us twice. I get a love note every morning on my phone.

I get to take the day off, for values of day off which includes laundry, cleaning, and food for birds, beasts and humans. But no power tools and no leaning over, glory hallelujah. Julia, hurty. Get better quickly. Broken ribs are so miserable. Diane, huggy (gently)

Lovely interview with Stephen Colbert today on Fresh Air with Terry Gross (NPR).
He gave a shout out to Northwestern. I so LOVE hearing him when he is NOT in character.

Haven't heard from her yet but I think she will show up in time for dinner.

I just watched "Lie to Me" again yesterday. Still an excellent episode. I regard it as the first time Buffy realizes the importance of her calling and begins to regard it as something more than a crimp in her social life.

They have been showing reruns on both LOGO channel (rather randomly) and also Oxygen (in order) but just a few weeks ago started from episode 1 on TNCK which is Teen Nickelodeon, which I think is a great match. I hope lots and lots of teens get the next general of Buffy fans hooked. 15 years from the first ep isn't it? Back in January?

And Liz has arrived. She is doing one more study/refresher. Has 9 hours of testing tomorrow from 8-5 pm.
Then maybe she will do some osteopathic med on me -- we'll see.

What about the ep lead you to this conclusion? Her talk with Giles at the end?

I have some news about fostering . . . I put it in Admin. It's nothing much, and not very "revealing." I just feel like I need to be extra protective on this topic.

Julia, unfortunately, neither me dropping things nor gravity are effected by my needing not to bend over.

Swear to God, I almost did a bona fide spittake when I saw this answer to an age-old question; as it was I nearly choked on the iced tea I was drinking: Shirt can be purchased here.

I don't think Kendra is in "Lie to Me." That's the one with Ford and getting locked in the basement with all the vampire wannabees and she threatens Drusilla to get Spike to let them all go.
