Welcome to Part 1131 of the Soulful Spike Society [/center] Because it made me laugh: You know the routine: 1. Read and follow the rules.2. If you want to talk about stuff that's verboten on the main board, go here and chat to your heart's content. 3. Don't post spoilers anywhere but here. 4. Check out the great reviews and essays on the S3 home page. And that does it. So start with the posting already!

I'm sure you could if you put your mind to it. I have faith in you. Faith has faith in you. ;D Happy to hear about new little boychildren and that someone else thinks of Vince. That does bring teary comforts. Also like hearing about nice goats (goats?) that eat rose clippings. Good that nasty post office finally delivered much-needed book, although it would have been better without the aggro. Goodish bad news or baddish good news: The daughter's plans to move to Cali go forward apace. She's throwing herself a farewell party on the 14th. Now if she'd only make an effort to begin paying back some of the (sh*tload of) money she owes me. Well, at least there will be shoes. (Translation: Visited Zappos and dropped $300+) Things can never bee TOO wrong if there are shoes.

Thanks for the new part, Sara! I was going to try and get back here yesterday, but what with Zak's ultrasound and my trip to the far court, I couldn't do it. Very appreciated!

I've been sooo busy! And I have two widdle boys coming over on Thursday. Yowza. I had a nice experience on Sunday - I heard from a friend of my son's, a young woman. She sent me a nice email telling me she had been thinking of Vince, how much he had meant to her, and that she had found some pictures he drew for her. She asked if I wanted them. I was really touched, and after a good cry, I wrote her back that I really appreciated her offer, but it would mean a lot to me if she kept the pictures. I asked her to send me copies if she had a scanner or copy machine easily available to her. I hope I get to see the drawings, but mostly, I am glad to hear from one more person who is keeping Vince in his or her heart.

Zak update: He got his appetite back after the ER visit and it has persisted, thankfully. Still doesn't want to drink from his bowls, but I found he will drink if I include water with his food. Looks gross, but it seems to do the trick. A little broth and some enticing food bits will get him to drink a whole bowl, so there's no danger of him becoming dehydrated. His vet is pleased with that trick, too. Ultrasound showed no free fluid in his abdomen. His spleen (something they were worried about), liver, kidneys and prostate all look good. However, he has a mass on his right adrenal gland that may just be a growth typical (yet damaging) for the gland or a cancerous mass. No way to know unless the gland is removed and biopsied. *sigh* So, we had a chest x-ray done, because if there is cancer in the lungs no surgery. His x-rays were clear. Yay! Called his doc, who spoke with the internal medicine vet and got all the reports faxed to his office and the doc wants to wait a bit. I'm not sure if that's because Zak is an older dog or if he wants to see how aggressive the growth is. We're going to take Zak in to discuss it in person. The good part is that this looks like it can be fixed if it's not cancer and may be even if it is. The bad part is that not doing so plays havoc with Zak's blood pressure and causes some dementia and anxiety. It may cause his heart to race. So, something probably should be done. The cost, oy, is huge! Oh well. If Zak has a good chance of surviving surgery, it will be a small price to pay. Anyway, he's pretty chipper (unless he's going out to go do his business, which he seems to not want to do-another issue that no one can get to the bottom of, so to speak). He's on Miralax once a day for that issue. And, he has new food that is less fibrous and more digestible. Good thing mom and I are healthy cuz he takes more care than the two family humans combined. ;D

Help is here! Hired help that is! I'm busy today and tomorrow trying to get ahead of stuff, which is a sham and and illusion but at least I'm trying, right?
Julia, I seriously hate the month of July.

I've been hearing some good things about it, but I've also heard that it's kind of generic, too. I'd be very interested in hearing what you think about it.
