Runway! Woot!
Guest judge Stacey Bendet looks awesome! Very retro-fabulous.
Danielle - I like it. Colors are nice, interesting contrasting textures. Maybe not "steal the show" standout look, but good.
Fallene - the skirt does look fab on the runway; knockout use of color. The top is ... well, it's a top. The leash belting is nicely done. She's right that it's not as awesome as it could have been. But I do really like that skirt!
Anthony RA - Damn. That birdseed dress is really nice. I love the collar effect with the sunflower seeds! (Skirts too short, but they all are always, so I've almost given up complaining about that.)
Bert - You disappoint me, dude. Boring and yet also with the pink stuff that just is just slightly off the mark.
Julie - So glad she took off the sleeves!! It moves a bit better than I thought it would - thanks to the belting and the way it's rolled/molded on her. I waffle on the back that she loves so much. At some angles I like it, at some angles, not so much.
Anya - Damn! She does have a killer model, for one thing. But also - I am amazed she pulled that top off! Looks really good, too. The skirt is, well, a skirt. Nice looking yes. All together a nice, chic look.
Bryce - Hmmm. In some ways it's actually kind of perky cute. But, it goes over the line into costumey, for sure. Too bouncy skirt with the midrif baring top with all the glued on stuff, and the bright color? Hmmmm.
Kimberly - Looks a bit dull when it first comes out, but I actually do like the blue cording stuff on the bodice when they show it close up. Is that enough, though? Definitely an interesting and different way to go!
Josh - Like the top, the colors and shape and the belting is very nice. The skirt is, like so many of the others, a skirt. Works just fine and shows off the top. Again, is it enough?
Viktor - OK, the shape is your basic tube/column dress, but I love the way he's layered the materials and the color is lovely!! A very very pretty, pulled together look!
Cecilia - Similar to the seed dress in shape/concept, in a way, and I do like the use and combination of the colors, but somehow not as impressive to me as the seed dress. Pretty, yes, but more obviously "stuff glued on en masse", I guess.
Olivier - Pretty! The materials make the shape a bit bulky, but I still really like it. I like the fleecy top (very clever to combine the simplicity of shape with the roughness of the fleece) and the color shading of the material on the skirt. I can't help thinking the eyebrows were a mistake, though.
Becky - Well, it's colorful. I mean, it's a cute dress, in a way. Not very sophisticated in either design or execution, perhaps, but peppy.
Laura - OK, that is actually rather nice. Simple at first glance, more sophisticated when you look closer, with the braiding up top and layers of material in the skirt. Especially when you consider she scrapped the first outfit and started over.
Joshua - Again. It's colorful! And actually, that was the best way to deal with that extreme top. Pair it with a black flirty skirt and severe hair. Not sure I care for the make-up and it still is a bit over-the-top.
Now to post before I watch the judging! ;D

They're snarky, but they aren't mean-spirited. Uh. Yet. HA! True. Yet.

And now the judging ... Bryce they hate. Well, you could see that one coming. "I don' know how many times we have had this tissue dress." **snicker**
Anthony Ryan - They love the seed dress. Yay!
Oliver - They love it! Yay!! Very editorial. Thank you, Michael K for saying the eyebrows are not good.
Josh - They have issues with the umbrella stuff. Too much "normal" material. In conventional ways. Yeah, I can see it as a reason to object. Not terrible, but just OK.
Joshua - OMG, they love it? Well, I'm surprised. But they do say the makeup is too much. On the other hand, I guess I do agree that the shapes are fun and different.
Fallene - Not exciting. OMG, they don't like the colors in the skirt? But I agree the shape is not good. Not interesting.
Huh. Well a surprise or two in the judging, but also some very good comments. And now for the winner and loser. Olivier wins! Coolio!
OMG, they kept Bryce "napkin dress"? OY!!
Ahem. Back to judging.
An poor lil' Josh is out, just when he was on the verge of finding "the girl he's been waiting for" - i.e. Joshua.

Once again I agree with Heidi, and we lose. Bert needs to be careful next week: the judges have, in the past, kathwumped people who got uncooperative when immune. Julia, it wasn't just ugly, it was SILLY.

Remember when I said that the load size adjustment on my washer was broken? It was stuck at the largest size, so at least I could use it, but it was wasting water. I spent all of Wednesday morning last waiting for a repair guy to look at it (he ran very late), paid a $50 deposit and was assured that the washer would still work, but he had to order parts. This morning, I combined loads as much as possible, started the first one, and... the washer is now stuck on the smallest size. So I added several buckets of water, because it was too late to divide into two smaller loads, and hastily subdivided the rest of the wash, including wet towels, which can't sit all weekend. I'll have to rush back when it gets to the rinse cycle and add more water, and the same for a second rinse cycle to make sure I get all the soap out, and the rest of the laundry will take twice as long because it'll be many small loads instead of three large ones. I can't really wait to do laundry, because I have no idea how long it'll take for the repair company to get the parts in, get around to calling me, and make an appointment at a time I can SPEND ALL DAY SITTING AROUND WAITING. Yes, I'm a SAHM, but I do have to drive daughters hither and yon next week; some things cannot easily be done by bus. Of course we're having a very hot week, and we're being urged to conserve electricity, and I have to run double the number of washer loads. Of course. I don't know where the nearest laundromat is, probably Fullerton, but I don't have time to drive out there anyway. It's shop for Aged Mum and spend all day Sunday working for Aged Mum weekend, I'm exhausted already. Not to mention that the newspaper hasn't arrived this morning (so I had to call) and the Post Awful has lost another of my mailorders. Somebody there keeps logging my packages from Amazon in as delivered when they aren't, so I have to call several times. I finally sent an email to whatever bot reads them at the USPS website, which probably won't do any good either, but at least I was able to, um, express my displeasure. Politely. Edit: The paper finally arrived. And fifteen minutes later, the replacement paper arrived. This is how it works; if I hadn't called, I'd still be waiting, but since I waited until after the deadline and then called, just as I'm supposed to, I got two newspapers.

This is why I like Sears: they show up when they say they will show up, and they have all the parts that are likely to cause the problem as described on the truck when they get here: this may be regional, though. Julia, about 90% ready to tell the day to go completely away and leave me alone: too much walking on pavement yeaterday, way too much standing on pavement, and my hips and knees are screaming at me.

Julia, about 90% ready to tell the day to go completely away and leave me alone: too much walking on pavement yeaterday, way too much standing on pavement, and my hips and knees are screaming at me. I suspect it is regional - our refrigerator came from Sears, and they were late, rude, and did a poor job of levelling it, so much so that I made them come back and clean up their mess. Don't even get me started on the Starving Students moving company... However. I drove all the way to Beads Beads down in Orange, which was (a) still very much in business and (b) had the beads I wanted, in lots of colors. I bought the colors I needed plus a few others for future reference, although in retrospect I should've got more shades of green. There's always next time. Then I drove back with a detour east into Yorba Linda, so lots and lots of driving including spending fifteen minutes at a railroad crossing waiting for a freight train to pass, and pass, and pass, and pass... at least the crossing on the way back was just a passenger express.

Grab your babies and your beadwork because I'll be putting a new part up very soon since I'm lazy and am just recycling an old part.
MAKE HASTE, PINCH IT OFF, SMOKE 'EM IF YOU GOT 'EM......
