Today I installed a program update to our antivirus and after that the browsers won't open, Firefox or IE. So I'm running a full Malwarebytes scan because it's all I can think to do, and I'm at the library with Kitty. I haven't been able to reach our PC repair guy yet either. This is so not good. I can't get a break, I just can't. I'm on the edge of a panic attack and I feel like throwing up. It's not just the computer, it's all the stress, and everybody depending on me all the time. i need a hug, please please? Girl, you need to stand up and tell everyone around you that you're at the breaking point and need help! It does no one any good if you crater. Trust me on this, I've been there--cratering and all! Oddly enough, things still manage to get done somehow. Good advice, although I myself have no compunction against faking a collapse, a managment technique of middle-aged women honored in the breach (not just women, though, see "I'm comin' Elizabeth!") Julia, seriously considering the necessity of not doin' nothin today

One of my long-term fannish ethnographic interests has been the way Jason Momoa is perceived by the Conan fandom as represented by various geekoid comment threads: one thing which is most marked is how the people complaining about him being "too small" and, uh, insufficiently masculine have shut the heck up since Game of Thrones premiered. Now most of the negative chatter is a continuation of how bad a director Marcus Nispel is, something I have no opinion of since I've seen nothing he's made. Julia, "too small" heh: they need to see the pics of him with his wife, her ex husband and his step-daughter (Lisa Bonet, Lenny Kravitz, Zoe Kravitz: all tiny, tiny people, so small JM looks as if he's standing too close to the camera even when he's behind them. *snerk* They better never be photographed with Alexander Skarsgard. They'll look like pygmies.

I think the virus was the 'danger Will Robinson'-type 'your computer is infected' virus. I kept running this program called CrapCleaner and AVG Spysweeper. Then I let it sit for a week, and managed to load up a copy of Norton which seems to have solved the problem and I don't notice anything missing or wonky - so far. Stupid computers. I hope you can beat yours into submission soon.

OMG, I am tired!
The little guys did pretty well for a first day in a new house. They were having trouble getting to sleep, but I think they have managed to do so.
They are real bundles of energy, and are quite competitive with each other about toys and such (most oft-repeated phrase of the day: "He won't share!!"). But mostly, they got along well and had fun.
Did I mention I was tired?

Did I mention I was tired? Well you're not exactly used to having teacup humans running around your place. It takes some getting used to. You'll adapt and have wonderful times with them. Good on you!

Oddly enough, things still manage to get done somehow. I did. I have. It never works, unless Emily steps in, and she's got school plus her TA prep work, so not really an option. It just means I have even more to do later. Also Paul's got another nasty coughy cold coming on, and it's been wicked hot and sticky, so neither of us is getting enough sleep. Still no computer, I'm supposed to call after we get home from the library (Yorba Linda this time) and see if it's ready yet. FYI, if anybody heard about a brushfire in Brea, it's several miles north and east of us above Carbon Canyon and last I heard was moving farther north into LA County. So we've got a smoky smell and a bit of ash, but we're otherwise safe.
