Daughters both back on US soil. Carolyn should be home by now. Allie boarded for flight from Chicago to Nashville. Pick up at midnight, nearly.
3 weeks from now she'll be driving back up for another wedding.
Northwestern is undefeated. Vanderbilt is undefeated. Grab your babies and beadwork

Grab your babies and beadwork Shall we hit them with fruits and various meats, or do I need to rev up Mr Bolty? I haven't enacted vengeance, uh, justice on anybody lately, and I'm dying for a good smite...

Something woke me around 3AM. Then the wind picked up, and there was thunder and wind and what sounded like rain, for the next several hours. Unfortunately, if there was any rain, very little of it reached the ground, or the rain gauge. I feel so cheated... Also the cats are sneaking around with their tails down, and they haven't finished their breakfasts. Any time Patches doesn't finish her food, she's very upset. Also Patches left a humongous hairball in the unlit den for me to clean up. Fortunately, I smelled it (catfood) before I trod in it. Bare feet + hairball is not a happy combination. ETA: Kitty is not feeling well, best guess is she's coming down with a cold. So of course Emily had to butt in and complain that she didn't sleep well last night (welcome to the club, none of us did), she's not feeling well, where's the sympathy, etc etc etc... She's 22, and she's still doing the "look at me look at meeeeeee" crap. I'm just waiting for Paul to start complaining that he doesn't feel well either, his glands are swollen, he needs to be waited on, etc etc etc... I am so tired of this family I could just smite the lot of them. Except maybe Kitty, who actually is sick. Although not too sick, I see, to play on the PC and watch DVDs.

I didn't say good morning?
Good morning!
I must go get work done but am having one of those mornings when the pills are fighting it out and I need to sit still until they reach truce.
Julia, nobody ever wins...

For you... <snips and gathers all the lovely wet men>
Thank you so much, Sara!! Well, I simply must get all these poor dears out of their uncomfortable wet clothes and into each other my nice warm and non-damp bedroom. Because it's just the right thing to do! I'm compassionate like that. ;D

LOLA: Happy B-day!! RACHAEL: Sorry to hear you are still waiting on the little guy, but it won't be long now! ALL: Have read and caught up but even this long weekend doesn't catch me up to where I need to be with work and home chores! Did have time to go to a Labor Day celebration at a friend's house, where I spent an interesting hour or so talking to a 96 yr old lady. She was a smart lady who still had all her faculties - such an interesting person. Her name was Osie. She claimed it was a very common name in Texas in the early 1900s. Her middle name was Texas. She said her sister's middle name was Kentuckianne (at least I think that was the spelling)- her dad was from Texas, her mom from Kentucky.
