Quiet day. Hope all is well with all. Had hired help in, did a bunch of running around, photographed chickens, been cold all day. Julia, cold is not my friend.

Watched the pilot for Once Upon a Time.
Really enjoyed it -- time went fast. Lots of fairly complicated backstory to set in place but they did a good job. Curious to see how it pans out.
I'd say great potential here, glad to hear ep. 3 is even better (per Matt Rousch at TV Guide).
Nice alternative to the cop, medical, lawyer and procedural shows.
Wonder how the ratings will be?
In case you missed it they are repeating the Pilot this Sunday prior to episode 2. 6 central and 7 central on ABC.

Watched the finale of "Top Chef, Just Desserts." Feel as if I should take an extra dose of insulin now.
Julia, eek.

The living room TV crashed last night. One third of the screen has gone bad. I was near tears, but the Bobman put me in the car and we drove to Beast Buy. Result? A 60" internet ready LCD wonder with wifi and all kinds of new bells and whistles--and $300 off the price between an ongoing sale and the fact that the box was open plus another $100 off because the delivery is free.
And he paid for half.
Delivery tomorrow afternoon and Geek Squad is going to install.
Did I mention that he paid for half?

Much!! Good S'cubie thoughts needed for my friend and co-worker who is having thyroid cancer surgery today. She has been very upbeat about it all, and has an excellent head and neck surgeon doing the surgery. Vibes comin' her way.

Still up to eyeballs with work and foster kids. And going to Columbus tomorrow to set up retirement at the end of the calendar year. Only a couple of people here at work know. I plan to tell the boss AFTER I set it in motion, because that is just the sort of crazy, fun, trusting relationship I have with my boss. Once I retire, there are going to be a few changes around here, so GET READY!That's right! I'm going to be crazy retired lady with too much time on her hands, hanging around your posting board. But seriously, I do hope for more S'cubie time, and to set up a schedule to finish my BtVS reviews . . . not sure anyone still cares all that much about them, but I would like to get through them. I may even dump my psuedonym. I'll dump it on the posting board, anyhow. For my reviews, I think it would just confuse people to start writing them under a different name - they have gotten known (to the extent that they are known) as "Spring Summers'" reviews, I think.

I still care. I bet a lot of other people do too. Also much envy of the retiredness. As for changing your name, well kiddo, I've know you by "Spring" for nearly 10 years. Changing that may be a bit of an issue for me, but if you really insist upon it--then Mary you shall be.

Julia, having been assigned a stupid editting job this morning, as well. Indeed I have. Beast Buy called him today and told him that they couldn't deliver the tv until NEXT Friday. Woe be unto them. Apart from the Wrath of Diane (which he does his level best to avoid and Beast ought to as well) there was the problem in the store of dealing with a 6'2" red-headed man who doesn't like to see his lady disappointed. There was, I believe, some mention that there are other stores that sell TVs. There was a reference to one in particular that advertises same-day delivery (free). There was a subtle comment about the state of the economy and an observation that business in general is down and the lack of customers in the store indicated that Beast was feeling it too... Uh, should I mention that the TV is now re-scheduled to be delivered tomorrow? A Bob among men? Yes, I think so. I really do.
