So "Grimm" starts this Friday at 8 pm central on NBC.
It has the fairy-tale thing in common with Once Upon A Time but I think the approach is quite different.
I found some of the comments on TV Guide interesting re OUAT -- a lot of "I liked it a lot more than I thought I would."
I'm going to recommend it and hope some of the rest of you watch it.

Much!! Good S'cubie thoughts needed for my friend and co-worker who is having thyroid cancer surgery today. She has been very upbeat about it all, and has an excellent head and neck surgeon doing the surgery. Vibes comin' her way. Vibes sent!

I liked OUAT - fun to see how all the fairytale stories come together in one magical land and it will be cool seeing them in their "now" timelines as the worlds collide. And the visuals were great! Even simple things like the clock suddenly moving again? Very cool. Also looking forward to Grimm.

The living room TV crashed last night. One third of the screen has gone bad. I was near tears, but the Bobman put me in the car and we drove to Beast Buy. Result? A 60" internet ready LCD wonder with wifi and all kinds of new bells and whistles--and $300 off the price between an ongoing sale and the fact that the box was open plus another $100 off because the delivery is free. And he paid for half. Delivery tomorrow afternoon and Geek Squad is going to install. Did I mention that he paid for half? Awwww! What a great guy!

Project Runway time ...
I like that they actually did a different twist - instead of "you must make a new look" it's "here's money and time - do what you will to improve your looks". Cool!
Josh Josh Josh. Your problem is always doing TOO MUCH - pull it back, dude. Pull it back.
Kimberly is losing her grip, Anya is going all I'm-calm-and-giving-up, and Viktor ... I worry about Viktor rethinking his collection! It was the best one before - will he overwork it? And I loved his print before! Don't get rid of it!

Runway time!
Kimberly ... I love her colors (I know some don't, but I think they're pretty!). I like how she's adjusted the high-cut back of that first top to be softer and more polished looking than it did in the last ep. Little short jacket on the pink dress is very nice and the flowy dress is very pretty. Oooh, love the white top and pants! Don't like the shoes she chose and some of the middle pants/tops were kind of "meh" to me, but overall I like the colors and "vibe" to the collection. And I still love that long black dress at the end.
Josh ... First purple dress is very lovely (and SIMPLE in cut/construction - YAY!) But the print dress thing next with ... is that a leather vest? No. Then nice black pants, cool top and jacket - good! Then horrible green skirt and ugh print top. OMH horrible green shorts with very cool top. Then the cool jacket w/ungood pants and print tom, then black dress less ugh than before but still not good then modifications of the horrible dress-jumpsuit to make the most of the cool neckline-plastic stuff and to minimize the horrible jumpsuit-back thing, so overall ... ? Uneven, with some real dreck in there.

Runway continues - Woot!
Viktor ... Gorgeous opening dress - love that print! Next top is pretty, with the black and the sheer and the leather skirt w/zips. Oh, yay, the blouse w/glass is still in, but I preferred it w/the tuxedo jacket look from before. Another pretty pretty print dress and then the black and sheet, short and then long. Hmmm. I wanted more of the print from before - I'm wishing he'd put in less of the black. Oooooh, the print in a long gorgeous dress!! Oh! there's the print pants/glass blouse/jacket! Good! And he put the white jacket w/simple black pants and shirt. Hopefully judges like it, although I thought it was very very pretty with the long dress before. Nice show, Viktor!
Anya ... Finally we see that gorgeous print in her first dress - and I like the lightness of the shoulder straps - metal, I think? Thin chain? Then the pretty brown dress from last week (although I hate the longer flippy back hem). Simple bathing suit, but at least not as horrible as the one last week and the cover-up for it this time is at least pretty (all optical print and swirly). Another wide-leg halter top pant-suit (yawn) - and it looks a bit sloppy. And now a very sloppy/floppy oddly shaped short sack dress that looks kind of sad? What the heck, Anya? Another halter top long flowy dress - although the pattern is very pretty. Long tan halter top thing is OK, but then it's over gold hot pants with a big showy belt? WTF, Anya? Then a simple (and somewhat floppy shorts and top). Oooooh! Then an actually very cool dress w/cool pattern in rich color and interesting loose wide cowl collar that exposes a lovely gold that looks gorgeous with the color of the dress! Pretty! Then another long balloony halter-sort-of top . . . Hmmmm. Some good bits but too much repeat and some were odd.

Judging! For Kimberly, they like the changes / adjustments she made to keep the "herness" but make it more streamlined-urban-modern-sexy, etc.
Josh, they think he did edit himself? Really? They love the shorts? I do agree that he uses interesting materials and I too loved the first dress.
Viktor, they love the print and the tailoring and the polish. They didn't care for the transparency so much. (I wish he hadn't done so many of those, I will admit.)
Anya: They like the easy vibe, the flow. But they note the lack of construction, the identical neckline. They love the first dress (which was gorgeous). Not everyone is in a print all the time. Ooooh, they mention the brown dress (with the gold inner collar - it was very pretty).
So the winner is .... Anya? Really? Huh. Well, I wouldn't have picked her, although she did have some very nice pieces.

Still up to eyeballs with work and foster kids. And going to Columbus tomorrow to set up retirement at the end of the calendar year. Only a couple of people here at work know. I plan to tell the boss AFTER I set it in motion, because that is just the sort of crazy, fun, trusting relationship I have with my boss. Once I retire, there are going to be a few changes around here, so GET READY!That's right! I'm going to be crazy retired lady with too much time on her hands, hanging around your posting board. But seriously, I do hope for more S'cubie time, and to set up a schedule to finish my BtVS reviews . . . not sure anyone still cares all that much about them, but I would like to get through them.I may even dump my psuedonym. I'll dump it on the posting board, anyhow. For my reviews, I think it would just confuse people to start writing them under a different name - they have gotten known (to the extent that they are known) as "Spring Summers'" reviews, I think. I still care about them. Yayness! Good luck with the retirement process.

This week I have had my microwave break, dithered for three days trying to go buy a new microwave, bought a new microwave all on my owns yaaays, realised I didn't know what to do with the old microwave cause it can't go in the bin, got my employee to drive us to the recycle center and got rid of the old microwave. And had vegan pizza at the Pulse cafe to celebrate.
Also I went to the Bollywood dancing class. Even though I've missed all semester because it's now the night before lessons and I can only go if I've finished my homework. I was bad at it, but I'm used to this.
Next I have college reading that I should have been doing all week, or I have the latest Terry Pratchett. ... hmmmm...
