Welcome to Part 1136 of the Soulful Spike Society Main Thread! We are fabulous. You know it, we know it, and soon everyone will know it! Why? Because, we are not hiding our light which shines brightest in our essays, analyses and fiction. And we are most fierce (but breathtakingly respectful of one another at all times) when discussing open topic subjects about which we are passionate. There's a good chance you'll be able to handle our incredible groovyness if you read these, be excellent to each other and avoid raining on our parade by posting spoilers only in this place or by hiding them under the shell of the ghost button in the tag bar of the posting screen. You want glitz? You want glam? We've got your bling, right here where you'll find legen-wait for it-dary, scintillating conversation about all things televisionary. ;D Go, visit and join in the stupendousness that is our love for TV. Come on, everyone, let's get our Liberace on, embrace the flamboyance that is Us and post!!! Star Trek Inspirational Posters

He certainly does fill the eye... S'cubies. I'm having a not-too-sucky weekend. Husband and I went to the Winter Sawdust Festival (I got a new purse from Proppe Leather) and had lunch out. Today I was able to get Aged Mum's shopping done before it started raining. Poor Husband will have to drive to Altadena in the rain, but he gets to sit in a bar and discuss Dracula with his Mythie buddies after he drops off the groceries, so he's not terribly heartbroken. I just ordered my birthday magazine subscription ( Somerset Life), because they were having a special that runs out on the 23rd including free shipping on the upcoming issue. That won't be included in the sub, due to ordering deadlines or something. So I went ahead and got it and the subscription in the same order. Doing wash, making lists of what needs cleaning up for RSWP on Friday. I am not looking forward to that, as Bestest Buddy won't be there to keep me from going all vengeance on Ratbag. On the other hand, maybe Ratbag won't come. We'll just keep hope alive.

I have a cousin who was a teenager when Liberace was in his heyday. My mom told me she had a huge crush on him, pics and posters up on the wall, the whole bit!

my day involved very nearly winning a computer game a lot, and renaming all the tracks I ripped off my new CDs because the computer moved all the names down one track. excitement! ... also, the music was the kind of incredibly dodgy 100 hits party thing that results in me now owning tracks by Ant&Dec and The Cheeky Girls. *facepalm* I only bought it cause I decided to pay for all the music I listen to regular anyway, and this way I get many of them and a bunch of random other stuff. it's just... very random.

Julia, facebook always flummoxes me
On the other hand, CAPTCHA is an AD? Lame, proboards, really really lame.

I'm betting Erin or Shan or Vlad will have to do it for you. Might involve a re-set.

You should get an email with directions to reset. Sorry sweetie. I have resorted to putting all my passwords in my cell phone because I have CRS so bad.

All this talk about gaslighting has made me wonder about a habit I have now and if it was caused by the amount of gaslighting, teasing and just plain negativeness I was raised with. I have the complete inability to accept honest praise of my talents. I seem to want people to pick apart what I do because I really don't believe that I'm receiving an honest opinion unless it's a negative one. It seems to me that this might be a side effect of being raised in an environment where the only opinions that were ever expressed were negative ones and if I got upset about it I was told I need to calm down, toughen up or take a joke, but there was never a positive opinion offered after that either. Just makes me think. P.S. Congrats Dr. Queen Erin! I think it is so cool that you got your doctorate in something your passionate about! And as for accepting or denying friend requests, I never feel I have to justify my choices. If it is someone I don't want privy to information about my life I just deny it and move on. SPRING SAID:My two cents on the gaslighting discussion: - I think anyone who is trying to tell you what you are (or should be) thinking or feeling, is "gaslighting."
- I think the perps are just as likely female as male. But I think the intended victims are almost always female.
- When people are trying to get you to doubt the accuracy of your own perceptions, it's because they are afraid of being accurately perceived.
(dang nested quotes!) Had to copy this and add a big EEEEETAHH! I miss Matthew. Dang real life.
