Welcome to Part 1145 of the Soulful Spike Society [/center] It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure the basics are still the same: 1. Read and follow the rules.2. If you want to talk about stuff that's verboten on the main board, go here and chat to your heart's content. 3. Don't post spoilers anywhere but here. 4. Check out the great reviews and essays on the S3 home page.On with the posting!

Also: everybody here does know that TLo put up the Aufter's decoy Fashion Week collection every Monday, right? Gunnar, Venn, Elena. As far as I know, those don't even get put up on the Lifetime website, and are not aired anywhere, so this isn't by any stretch of the imagination a spoiler. So, what do you think those collections say about the designer's possibility of making a career as a real-life fashion designer? Julia, another Monday, another set of ways that things can go wrong, wrong, wrong

No, the thing is that PR is still airing when Fashion Week happens, and to keep the actual final three from being spoiled, all of the designers whose Auf episodes are still to be aired design and show collections in the publically viewable show; the final three are later viewed by the judges (in another secure location, I think) and judged. TV is magic that way; the footage is edited so it looks as if only the winners are judged at Fashion Week, and the decoy collections are not shown publically but often end up getting jobs for the losers. Julia, and that comes uncomfortably close to accusing me of fibbing, which I'm not in the mood to cherish.

I didn't really like any of these collections - Gunnar's was just plain ugly (mostly), I couldn't believe Venn's collection (is the same dress over and over a collection?), and Elena's also suffered somewhat from "doing the same thing over and over" syndrome. If I had to pick from one of these, I would go with Elena's. If I had to pick the worst, I would have to go with Venn. Hopefully the "non-decoy" collections will be better.

Warehouse 13 was quite the cliffhanger. Artie went all Dark Willow. I dunno, I think maybe I'm burned out on the show, it seems like work to watch it. But I'll wait and see if they can pull this one out of the hole they've dug. Also and too, Younger Daughter is twenty today. Twenty. 20. How the heck did that happen?

Julia, watched the episode of TOS Saturday where she's a secretary with a flip hairdo and a pink and orange minidress.

You know how I'm in perpetual worry mode? Yeah, well, I have good reason. Phone rings at 5:55 AM, that's usually not a good thing. So, phone rings, I grab it, worrying about Aged Mum, and get staticky noises and thumping. I keep saying "Hello", and after what seems like several minutes, a voice responds. It's the Husband. He was calling from the 91/57 interchange; he'd got into a fender-bender. He thinks a tire blew. He says he's fine, but the car is pretty messed up. I don't know more than that yet, but he's going to call me again in a little bit, after he hears from the auto club. I did a fast shower and dress and got the wash going, so I'm ready to go down there and collect him if necessary. I think I can do without a car this week, if he drives me in the evening for Aged Mum (and our) shopping, but it's going to be awkward. Also, I am not going to believe he's okay until I see him, phone call or no phone call. Good vibes would be much appreciated.

Update: I drove to the collision center in Fullerton/Anaheim and collected the Husband and his belongings. The car may be totalled; it's dented and bent and one of the windows is broken and the fenders are ripped off. He thinks what happened is that he lost control, probably when a tire blew, spun out, was hit by several other cars and a truck and hit a wall before he was able to regain control and get to the shoulder.
At some point in the next day or so, we'll know if the car is fixable or if it's declared as totalled and we'll have to replace it. But at least the Husband isn't badly damaged, although he's starting to ache.
