Plumber is here. Plumber is finding more problems. he can get the leak fixed, replace the too-small kitchen outflow pipe, and we'll deal with replacing the too-small washer outflow pipe later. I am still keeping hope alive that I'll be able to use the sink and the washer by tonight, but that hope is fading.

Plumber looked at the washer setup after he finished the repairs; he thinks he'd have to rip the laundry hall floor out to get at the pipes. So he said not to worry, it'll be fine even if it's 1½" instead of the proper 2", it's good plastic pipe and may just need to be cleaned out eventually. We have his card, he guarantees the work for a year. $1200, whimper... But it's done, and I just did a load of towels. Tomorrow I'll start the rest of the wash, and the daughters can finish it while I'm out running away from home my Saturday errands.

OH, stunning!! STUNNING!! I love love love the colors in the skirt - so flowy and beautiful!! Earings were the perfect final touch. This is so very very Godspell!! Brava, brava, brava to you all!! Excellent job! Bob and I were out yesterday and missed PR. Caught up today. Spring, I love this interpretation. The colors and the design really say Godspell and the whole period perfectly. I thought all the contestants except Mondo forgot that this is a 60s musical and it's biblical. You and Mondo remembered. You and Mondo win.

Thanks from Roxanne and me for the compliments on the "Godspell" design, all.
Onjel, the show isn't as good as it used to be, but drop on in just for the fun of helping design if you get a chance - the same invite to all of you! The more, the merrier!
The older girl was trying to help too, but got disillusioned by how we weren't seriously trying to make the most beautiful gown ever, and I wasn't actually competing with anyone, and there was no prize other than glory.
She did choose the crown, though, and had some fun.
We saw "Journey 2" tonight - it was quite fun. There were some amazing special effects.

Full copper re-pipes, all around! Thanks. I needed that. Bob's taking his granddaughter to the movies today. I'm not going because I believe each of us needs family time apart from the SO. Still, I'd prefer he postpone this once because the weather is on the far side of extremely yucky. I understand that he won't. Seven year olds don't understand why Grandpa isn't there when he said he would be. LATER: Grandpa outing postponed until tomorrow. Me? I'm going to take a nap.

One week into pediatric rotation. Got a URI/cold on Wednesday. This morning I woke up with conjunctivitis/pink eye and blepharitis/infected eyelid. I wonder what's next.
Have to wear a patch over my eye today. I don't think you really appreciate depth perception until you don't have it anymore.

Not everyone has a son who went directly from dropping Happy Meal toys down the sink to trimming a full manly beard in about a year and a half; the hall bathroom has had a hard life. I have had a strenuous day, myself, starting yesterday when I took a fall and came down in a weird position with the palm of my right hand on top of a thorny plum twig and my left arm rigid so I didn't whack myself with a shovel. Then this morning I got a specially long cow-checking treck, then went out to lunch with Anna and Bailey and shopped hard, including an extra four-block-walk downtown. All of it in drenching rain, at the standard Western Washington median, mean, and modal temperature of 45F. I still need to go out ans shut Ian and Sylvia away, and pray hard that tomorrow will be less horrible. Julia, my bruises are bruised.

Today is the 19th day in a row of no sun. This February must be the dreariest month ever. It's not that we don't need the rain--we do. Desperately. It's just that it would be nice to remember what the sun looks like.
Well, at least there don't seem to be any violent storms on the horizon today. Just dreary.

Julia, actually slept more than six hours last night, so things look less dismal

It's just that it would be nice to remember what the sun looks like. Well, at least there don't seem to be any violent storms on the horizon today. Just dreary. I had almost two hours of sun starting when I got up at 7:30 and ending a couple of minutes ago, and it was really nice. Don't expect more of it today, though, and wish I was rising fifty instead of sixty, back then I'd have been ready to go out at *;30, and not risk another soaking. Spring's coming; I'd have had photos of crocuses last week except for the fact that the slugs are eating them as soon as they open, dammit. Julia, the sun's moved almost 30 degrees north since the winter solstice; the trees on the hill are like a big protractor

Julia, actually slept more than six hours last night, so things look less dismal Sun's come out. So yes, much less dismal. My allergies are quieter than they've been for weeks. Reorganized jewelry box and cleaned off coffee table. Bob's taking his granddaughter to the movies so the house is quiet.
