Spring, if you don't ship it, don't read it! There are things in there that your eyes will never be able to unread! ;D You got a fic? Is there a link?

We're all not here, eh?
Was Glee last night actually the worst single episode of TV ever made? (I'm quoting, I was watching Olberman while it was on). TLo are never recapping it again, and there's disgust all over my lj friends list.
Julia, I stopped watching last year because of extreme not-caring and autotune ennui.

Haven't watched it yet, I'll let you know what the Husband says. Me, I only watch it because he wants somebody to burble at (not that he ever accords me the same courtesies, sigh), and it's like watching a slow-motion train wreck. There's something horribly fascinating about something that bad. Himself is still making excuses, but then, he watches not only American Idol, but also The Voice, so his taste is highly suspect. Ick. I found a recap. If it isn't the single worst hour of TV ever, it sounds like it's well up in the running.

I thought it was awful right out of the box. Tried to stick around for the music but the simple dreadfulness was too much to take.

Today I felt pretty good working in the clinic. Today I feel like I don't know anything. Sigh.
I've been rewatching all the star treks on netflix. Just finished watching ST:TNG, and I was struck by there being a lot more continuity than I remembered there being. Of course, that made all the general non-continuity stand out all the more. But still: interesting. I have this working hypothesis about the television making a shift from favoring episodic to storyarcing formats around the late 80s-90s, progressing up to the 2000s where strong storyarcs are favored, inspired by the progressive development of VHS, DVDs, DVRs, and digital media. Would make an interesting research topic.
Also, food porn:

Been in Chicago. Busy catching up.
Clicked on Huffington (don't go there much anymore) and clicked on a story about letters sent to Stewart and Colbert threatening biological attacks on Senators.
LOL comment:
"Jon and Stephen must be relieved that the FBI is only probing the letters, not their recipients."
hahaha

Allie had a phone interview yesterday and has been asked back for a face to face. It's next Tuesday as she will be in Nashville from Th to Mon. Actually, she had 2 interviews yesterday so it's looking like a wise decision to get her butt up to NYC.
fingers crossed

Actually, "seriality" used to not be considered a good thing, being associated very strongly with soap opera, which, as with anything that has a large female audience, can often be looked at by programmers, creators, and executives, as low-quality. But, starting with the 70s/80s quality programming drama, such as St. Elsewhere, Hill Street Blues, etc, it started becoming more mainstream. And, of course, you can see an excellent example of it in Twin Peaks, which required a high degree of investment to work out what was going on. And, of course, Buffy was given a great deal of credit for melding horror/soap-melodrama/and comedy, as well as employee "memory" and "seriality." Robert Thompson's Television's Second Golden Age talks about that quite a bit (although it was published in 1997, so he doesn't talk Buffy).

Sometimes a little paranoia is a good thing.
Just got a call from an attorney (whose name I promptly forgot but who I will call "Bill") asking for a copy of a paper file (I'm going to call the claimant "Juana") scheduled for hearing on the 29th. Juana's case is a remote hearing to be held in the Rio Grand Valley in McAllen Texas.
I told him I'd copied the file and sent it out FedEx earlier this week and it should arrive today. I also told him a copy had gone to the Rio Grande Valley office where the hearing would be held. If he didn't get the file he could copy theirs and it would take less time than to copy it again and send it to him.
I checked the FedEx record and asked him if he was a member of the "Johnson" law firm, which was where I sent the file. He wasnt. I got panicky. Sending a paper file to the wrong firm is a violation of all kinds of regulations and I'd be subject to an assortement of unpleasant disciplinary measures. The database indicated a third firm--which he was also not a part of.
He recited an address I'd never heard before. Now near panic I pulled out the file. On the very first page was a fee agreement from the "Johnson" firm. Right behind it was an Appointment of Representative also from the "Johnson" firm. Both were dated February 7, 2012. There was also a letter of withdrawal from the previous representative--non of whom have anything to do with "Bill" whatsoever.
I'm SO glad I keep detailed records.
If my buddy "Bill" has any claim to this case he'd better come up with some convincing paperwork. He did apologize and say he was going to do some further research. In the meantime, I'm going topour myself a cup of coffee and forget the whole matter.
