On a scale of 1 to 10 this doesn't even merit decimals but .... sigh ... managed to leave 2 bags of groceries behind at the store 5 miles away (I don't know, maybe I can do it in a 20 min round trip, 25 tops). But that's not the point. Left the house at 7:30 for 2 doc appts followed by 7 other errands and arrived home at 2 pm to find groceries left behind. Best guess is that they started loading one cart and then as I emptied mine and pushed it forward they started loading into mine and nobody noticed the 2nd cart. If that's my worst problem .... Probably wouldn't but me so much if I didn't have tomorrow planned out from 8 am until 10 pm (really, morning events, afternoon, event and 2 evening events with Jim). Not my kind of day. So I shall have to gird up my loins and drive back out later, maybe after the evening rush clears. Off to count all the good things in my life. Sorry for the suckage, Sue.

Couldn't decide whether to be re-annoyed when the girl at the front desk told me that her manager told her that she should have gotten my address and they would have DELIVERED them. Well, good to know for next time. (I did get my 5% senior discount on $200 bucks worth of groceries -- plus a lot of coupons and buy one get one free. Haven't shopped like that in ages and ages what with it just being the 2 of us and Jim gone so much.) Tomorrow it's: cardio/lung workout followed by shoulder P.T. follwed by hair appt. Home briefly. Then pick Jim up to attend a reception at Opryland being thrown by whatever org he is teaching for on Friday then back to Vandy for a choral concert he's interested in. Neither event lights me up but I like to occassionally say yes to stuff so I can say no to other stuff. The central plot of ARROW was a bit ho-hum but I enjoyed the character development of peripheral characters. Did I mention that John Barrowman is a recurring character? Now if they will just hire JM -- preferably as another dark action hero, maybe a recurring mentor?

She's a cutie! And so is Moses. Glad you are well. Are you still in the Cincy area? Yes, still in West Chester. How are you doing? I'm hanging in there. I retired earlier this year, and I now have two foster daughters, ages 16 and 12. I've had them for almost 1.5 yrs now. After I lost my son, I realized that I missed him terribly, and I could do nothing about that. But I also missed just plain being a Mom, and I could do something about that. So I have. As I told one of my son's friends, Vince was always big into recycling. I think he'd be all for it. It's quite challenging, but the girls are great.

Apropos of nothing, I thought I'd share this, because it made me grin; it's a Sherlock vid, to the tune of "Something There" from Beauty and the Beast. Really, anything that features Mycroft as Cogsworth is a win for me. Brava!! That is divine! "He's no Prince Charming..." HA! Heh. Glad you enjoyed it!

Friend Deb came over this afternoon to use our table to cut out a skirt she's making. Vietnamese for dinner but my tummy too dicey for solid food. Vietnam makes a very nice broth. Add some rice and a few veg and it's tolerable.
So tired.

Today is not starting out auspiciously. In the immortal words of Rachel Maddow, I have pudding brain today. After a night in which I woke up at hourly intervals, I opened the washer to put in the towels, and discovered a load of wash from Tuesday. I'm washing it over again, because I'm sure it's gone smelly. I only hope that it's been dry enough here to prevent mildew. I knew Kitty had had more pajamas in the wash, but she said pooh pooh, that's all there were. Today I have to drive to the DMV in Fullerton to renew my license. The form says all I need to do is get a new photo and thumbprint and pay the fee. The question is, do I trust the DMV? I am also rather depressed that I have to change my haircolor from brown to grey, but tempus fugit and all that. Too bad they won't let me put "calico", which is a much more apt description. Gah. Off for my tea date withn old friend I recently reconnected with. This woman has lived 20 mi s from me for the last 4 years, but we had stopped speaking our senior year in highschool, almost 18 years ago. She was my best friend for my early high school career. We were inseperable. I spent almost as much time at her house as I did my own. I even called her parents Ma and Ta-Ta. It's kind of nice to get reacquainted after all these years. Have a great day S'cubies!

I return triumphant from the hunt. I left early so I could pick up the catfood from the vet on my way to Fullerton, made my way through the road construction, and got to the DMV twenty minutes before my appointment. So I took my paperwork and my copy of Unseen Academicals and got in the proper line. The DMV staff were being efficient today; I was back in my car at about the time of my appointment. So I took advantage of running early and detoured to Barnes & Noble, which had all three magazines I've been looking for, before I went to TJs. TJs has got brandy beans and liqueur cherries back in. Emily is ecstatic. For someone who doesn't like drinking alcohol, she sure loves liquor-filled chocolates and brandied fruit and rum balls... Anyway, the groceries are put away, Emily kept the laundry going, and I'm about to walk up to the shopping center. So far, so good. Anne, exercising cautious optimism

I walked around the shopping center. I even remembered the stuff Aged Mum wants from the drugstore, and got it.
I completed the next step in the Japanese journal project and cleaned up after.
Still exercising cautious optimism...

Late to the party tonight ... what's our challenge ... Ooooh! Be inspired by a photo and turn it into a fashion design. Coolio!
Now to go find an inspiring photo to create a fashion headline!
Whoa! What the heck is up with photobucket? It's like it won't even let me in!
