I wish you could send some of that rain down here, we need it. We only got enough to make the oily streets slippery, but not even enough to measure. I don't think Paul is tapering off from the election, I think he's wallowing. Anyway, he's already doing little doodles in anticipation of 2014 and 2016. Gah.The wash is in progress, I did my morning walk to the market, and I have hopes of at least getting the covers glued onto my journals today. Update, some time later... Covers are glued, books are sitting under the thesaurus and the big dictionary, two each respectively, with a brick on top of each book. Next, the stitching patterns and the colors of thread. I'm thinking of going with the simpler patterns this time, just because I'm tired and might mess up the fancy ones. There's a new one I want to try anyway, where the binding threads cross over the spine of the journal. Should be interesting. Not nearly as much as I wish I could send it. We had well over forty days with only a trace of rain in the middle, ending about a month ago, and we are still about 20% over average for the year. I'm at three loads of laundry done, chicken treats cooked up and distributed (they get brown rice with calcium, vitamin D, and oil twice a week, and until all their feathers have grown back, also lentils for protein) hay for the sheep and chickens distributed, and various other stuff. OH- and I trimmed my bangs, washed my hair, and am sitting here for a few moments until my hair is dry enough to get it arranged so as to not be cold or look silly in public, so we can go to TJ's as we are out of catfood and have to redistribute our retail warfare around the chicken show and somebody coming who was hired to clean off the back porch. Franklin called in sick today because he was in too much pain to get there, so we're working on a very narrow travel timetable. Julia, my life is an endless round of... something. Something unlike fun. And mud, lots and lots of mud. and good vibes as per usual. The journals are finished, and the glue on the binding threads is drying (it's just to secure the ends inside the binding). I put everything away except the glue and the clothespins, and tomorrow I'll doublecheck to make sure everything is stuck down good and proper. I've got the Sarasa pens to go with the journals, I've got some mathoms for my cousin from Aged Mum, and I've probably got a box the right size, and I'm ahead of schedule. Whoopee go me. Next, sewing new buttons on my new batik tops; they come with big ugly white buttons, so I always replace them. Then it's back to the damnblasted™ bead embroidery, again. It sits there on the work tray, sneering at me, daring me to start sewing beads onto the base... Elder Daughter is off all next week, so I'm going to get her to help pick stuff up and vacuum, because I'm, like, a month overdue on that.

All new corsets came with little ribbon loops, I suppose to add garters to. Well since they are mainly for outside wear I put "D" rings into them. I can dangle purses or pouches, I can decorate. I'm pleased. Then I made the queen a fur muff. Also pleased. Also sewed frogs onto queen's new winter cape so I don't get sick at Dickens. Very busy today.

Finished emergency medicine rotation today. Am headed back to Wyoming. I'm currently in O'Fallon, IL. Fun fact, this is the town where my mom's cousins (including the one in Wyoming) grew up. Exam taking got botched, my computer got kicked off wifi 2/3rds of the way through but the clock kept running. Spent about half an hour working with the proctor trying to fix it; finally accessed exam on proctor's computer with the time almost run out, so I answered as many questions as I could before it shut down, but there were still a bunch I never got to, and I didn't get to review anything. Proctor called DCOM about it, but I didn't hear back about it today. So, I guess that mess will be sorting itself out next week.

Word from San Antonio is the little great granddaughter is in hospital, sick with pneumonia, but is now improving. Asking for good thoughts that improvement continues.

Beth says she's calming down, crying less and generally improving. Please keep the S'cubie vibes coming.

(A favorite saying of one of my sisters.) So sorry. Hope it gets straightened out quickly and easily.

Diane: Healing vibes for the little one, with extra sparkles in her favorite colors. I hope she bounces right back. She's adorable, by the way.
Hugs for you, because I can guess how worried you must be.

So, I didn't comment on the Runway, but winner and loser is ... Anthony Ryan won. I would totally have picked Emilio's. That was a gorgeous gorgeous floaty piece of art. A true "breath of fresh air" as one of them said.
And they bounce Andre and keep Joshua. I would have flipped them the other way, based just on the outfits from this episode. Ah well, that's life, eh? This is one of the episodes where I feel completely clueless about fashion. I didn't like--or understand--Emilio's outfit. The more he explained it, the more I understood, but...I didn't care for it. And I am fine with who was bounced. He was on my last nerve. As another contestant said, he is more of a character than a designer, and his biggest character trait was "quirky." Quirky is fine, quirky is wonderful, as a matter of fact, but anyone who purposely tries to cultivate quirky so as to be endearing? I detest. I am over Zooey Deshanel for just that reason. I am sorry you didn't have time to design something Spring! It was a fun challenge! I like that they are doing some new challenges this season.

Oh, and for those of you (if there are any on this board) that have a Wii and wifi, there is a new Youtube channel you can add to your Wii channels. If you have a Youtube account, you set up favorites and playlists and watch them right on your TV. I have been having fun with it.

These are great! I went to school with a guy named Farhang Farhangfar. Edit: I just googled him to make sure I didn't imagine him, and ayup, he's real. He lives in Texas now.

I bought a dutch oven (no jokes please) recently. I have perusing recipes for something tasty and filling to make as it gets colder, and several mentioned a dutch oven. I think I'm going to try a pot roast as my first attempt!
Jeez I'm chatty today.
