Thanks, everyS'cubie. I suspect part of my depression was worrying about how I would fail Aged Mum this time. As it turned out, I don't think she was able to find anything to complain about, although by tomorrow's daily call, who knows what she'll have thought of... Also I am sad because Leverage has officially been cancelled (no, haven't watched tonight's, we deferred to Younger Daughter and watched Dr Who). That's my two favorite shows gone as of next month when Fringe ends. Oh well, that's what all those DVDs are for, right? It was a pleasant day, and I hope the same for all of you and yours. PS I mentioned to BiL that Elder Daughter and I are both on prozac for the depression and stress - and he gave us a whole speech on how Ratbag was on prozac once and it gave her anxiety attacks and depression and she couldn't sleep at all at all and they got her back off it right quick. My Ratbag sister, most extra specially special snowflake of all the flurry.

Heh. Younger Daughter has started watching Firefly. After that, I'm going to push the Nero Wolfe DVDs.
NF looks so young.

I'm running on empty, yet need to go out and take care of animals and other aspects of reality.
Got some goodies from the larger family- a shepherd's crook and manure shovel, f'rinstance, a ton of random chicken decorative items such as would show up at yard sales in the Napa Valley; a TJ's gift card so as to be able to buy the GOOD coffee this week.
Got my son over the mountains and back in not-horrible driving conditions, although he missed an exit for the shorter way to Snoqualmie pass and ended up stopped for avalanche control for forty minutes or so. I miss him terribly but that's the deal of raising kids to be independent adults, they go away to follow their own paths.
I'm feeling virtuous about having the second load of laundry in, but I doubt the sheep agrees, best get up and feed him, no?

The Bobman has a cold. Being the Bobman, he doesn't do it in the exactly normal way, but is sniffy enough to qualify as, in fact, a cold. We slept in, breakfasted (lunched) too late for actual breakfast, shopped in The Container Store and took him to his Doctor's appointment. Very nice VA facility here in Houston. His cholestoral and blood sugar are too high, but I think it's a result of a week on an All You Can Eat ship followed by a How Much Butter Can You Put On This Christmast dinner.
Blood work to be redone in two weeks.
Sushi for dinner Then Dr Who Nice.

Merry, merry everyone! Thought you might enjoy this: The Twelve Days of BuffyI love reading about the various gifts people received. Life is rich and full. A Celtic broach? A manure shovel? And both probably gave the receiver the same amount of happiness. Me, I was gifted some sock monkey ornament pajamas and I'm rocking them right now.

I also got a new small camera, a Panasonic Lumix that has a Leica lens, and more importantly has not been contaminated by tiny flecks of hay dust that look like soap bubbles floating across any telephoto shots. Julia, the shepherd's crook is the real prize what with the darned sheep and all.

Fuzzy socks, sweat pants, tank top and flannel shirt. Perfect for a lazy day of staying in and doing nothing much. Really need to eat something though.

So, what's the challenge tonight? Ready to wear ... take it to the next level with a "wow" factor ... at a retail price point of $500-$700.
Hmmm. So, a dress would probably be easier to hit the price point on, but I'm feeling tempted by separates - pants and a jacket? Or a dress with a coat? Pants with a coat?
Bright colors? Or black with a bright color - like a pure emerald green? Or maybe smoky muted colors ...
Hmmmm.

OK, I think a long, swirly skirt in smoky colors, with a simple wrap-top in black - separates. And then a cool, snappy trench-coat in a bright, true emerald green. And the coat has some sharp touches that make it really cutting edge!

Uli meet Elie, Elie meet Uli. :-D
So far, none of these outfits are blowing me away ... I think I need to see the final products.
All from love! Not from fear!

Runway!
Anthony Ryan - I do like this. The dress shape is simple enough to carry the prints. Nice touch of color on the shoulders.
Joshua - The color is gorgeous. The front is pretty - the side view is a bit too floppy/droopy, but not horrible. The back? Disaster!
Emilio - I like this one too. The color is lovely and the banding is nice and sharp. Is it too simple, like he worries about? Possibly.
Ivy - Gorgeous print, like the bodice, the skirt seems a bit simplistic/unformed.
Uli - I really like this one. White on white patterns are tough, but this looks really lovely. The shape is very nice and the way she used the patterns on the bodice are cool/clean but also interesting.
Time to post before the judges have their say...

Judging! Winner is Anthony Ryan. Well, that's OK, I guess. That was a nice dress. But I really liked Uli's best! Ah well.
And they bounce Ivy. Once again boring is a greater sin than tacky/taste/needs editing.
