Some costume repair underway, but mostly laundry. The Gray Ball is three weeks away and I'm just not getting much done. Inertia, I don't mind you so much except for the...y'know...guilt. I am going to try to ship your aigrets Sunday, maybe, I'm having trouble getting Franklin to do anything at all. Julia, drowning in unfinished business. Um, aigrets? Diane *senior moment?*

The 16 yr old LOVES to do nails. Before she came to my house, I rarely had anything but clear nailpolish on. Now, they regularly look - well, all kinds of ways. Here is the latest:

Ulp. We have a new (used) car. It's another Matrix, 2005, 73K miles, white, way too much electrically controlled stuff, but that's how they all come these days. It has a moonroof. A moonroof. Eeep. It was listed at 11,999, which we paid, plus taxes and so forth and a 4-year warranty which, I am assured, is good at our local mechanic came out to $15K and change. So, within our budget with something left over to pay for the probably horrific increase in our insurance. I drove Amazon home, Paul is going to drive the new one home with a detour to Yoshinoya. I'm going to call our insurance as soon as Paul gets home with the new car and its paperwork. They're probably closed today, but at least I can find out when to call tomorrow. Well, at least we have two cars again. I'm not driving the new one until Paul has time to check out all the widgets (electrically controlled mirrors ) so he can show me how they all work. Too complicated, I have enough trouble driving as it is. But we have a new Matrix.

I am going to try to ship your aigrets Sunday, maybe, I'm having trouble getting Franklin to do anything at all. Julia, drowning in unfinished business. Um, aigrets? Diane *senior moment?*Or ostrich tips- white ones which I should have mailed last summer except for things going wrong one thing after the other. Which I wrote yesterday before I found a dead chicken (Sylvia, my first hen, who has had nothing but problems from the time she started laying, and who developed a fatal taste for plastic) and also before I had ANOTHER crown fall off, this one on an intact build-up, so I superglued it back in 2012: One Damned Thing After Another Julia, just in from a two hour marathon of chore-doing.

Brrrrr. There is frost on the grass and ice on the car windows. The far back yard thermometer says it was 30° out there at 6AM. Effete West-coasters, I know, I know... The Slayage of the Usefuls has commenced for the day. At 7AM, I called A 3 and got our insurance switched to cover the new car. I'm supposed to be getting temporary proof of insurance in the email shortly. Ain't technology grand? Also and too I ran the weekly spyware scan, which required installing a new version . But it came up clean, so all's well in that quarter. After the family leaves for the Aquarium, I'll run the monthly maintenance, which takes at least 3 hours and requires that I be here part of the time to start each section. Since I have my car back, however, I can run errands while the defrag is doing its thing. Perhaps I'll check a few thrift shops. I have some quests... Or perhaps I'll sort through that (ancestral sewing) box of broken jewelry and beads and wire and etc that Aged Mum gave me. There's some intriguing-looking stuff in there. Happy Hogsmass Eve, Happy New Year, Happy whateverelse celebratory you celebrate. And the insurance email is here. We're properly covered, one less worry to worry about.
