So, everybody's busybusybusy, I suppose.
Best go join you in productivity, then.
JUlia, all I can think is "my new mattress pad is so extra squooshy, I should just take the day off and enjoy it."

Yes, quiet! I guess the summer has us all busy outdoors and such. The girls are keeping me very busy, PLUS, I finally did hear and I have a contract and I plan to start back part time at the University on June 1. Tons of yardwork to do . . . when the house was on stilts last summer for exensive foundation repair, they had to take out ALL my flower beds. I plan to slowly replace. Will be a lot of work.

Quiet lately. Hope everyone is doing well. I am officially over-done, and am having a tough time getting through the day without long rest periods spent staring at nothing. I'm hoping that I get through June without being so over-booked, although rumor has it we'll be away at least one weekend for another memorial service. Julia, supposedly washing my hair right now, but look where I am.

Went to Foster Parent Banquet. Was completely surprised to win the "Rookie of the Year" award from Children Services!! Whoda thunk it? An award with the word "rookie" in it, AFTER my retirement. : Hope you are all well - Erin, I must check out Holmes on Homes . . . Have Mem Day plans, and am making plans for a busy summer. Congratulations on the award!!! I too love the irony of you as a retiree being awarded for being a rookie. But not at all surprised that you are winning awards left and right, all willy-nilly.

Sequel to: Iron Man, Iron Man 2 Thor Captain America: The First Avenger and the Hulk movie with the xover tag scene, I forget which one All of those featured SHIELD agents, Coulson and Fury mostly, the title characters were established in their own movies, Black Widow turned up in Iron Man 2 and Hawkeye was in Thor. ... the movie. ... eponymous movies sound a lot like fanfic summaries... The Avengers, officially Marvel's The Avengers, is known as Marvel Avengers Assemble in Britain, because when we say Avengers we mean the TV series with the leather catsuits, not the comic series. I like watching Marvel comics movies because no matter how wildly they change the comics canon I wouldn't know. I don't read Marvel. This makes it a much more relaxing experience than watching DC movies, which invariably mangle the source text or interact with it in other dodgy ways. And since I read DC for decades I unfortunately care about it. So I have Opinions about DC movies that are unrelated to their virtues as movies. Marvel movies however just have to entertain me on their own merits, cause I never met any of those guys before. And I still haven't seen it, because I have to finish two more assignments by Friday. Why do the best movies come out in essay rush times? All year I have nothing much to do, then essay time comes and boom, Stuff! I do however probably know who dies and what made people LOL and what the coolest action set pieces are about, because spoiler avoidance gets difficult after the first few weeks. But it'll still be awesome to watch. As soon as I finish 2500 words my grades for the year hang on. I keep running across people squabbling about whether this is in the same verse as the Edward Norton "Hulk" or not, although it seems as if everyone thinks Mark Ruffalo is the best Bruce Danner since Bill Bixby. Julia, which is high praise, I think Interestingly, since Ruffalo did the motion capture work for the scenes involving the Hulk, he's actually the first person ever to play both Banner and the Other Guy, as Ruffalo's Banner called his alter ego. And I completely agree with all those who say his was the best movie version of the Hulk, period.

The Wednesday movie review guy on KUOW was kvetching about the motion capture stuff as opposed to Ferrignoization; he said it made the Hulk less interesting for some reason which I couldn't quite follow but sounded a lot like "whine, whine, whine all this technology is depriving me of cheese, squeek." I want to see it but I want to see it in the daytime before school gets out. Julia, and Sam says that if I ask nice they can turn down the sound some.

Actually, for a change I did not have an issue with the sound. And Carolyn said the same was true for her when she saw it in Chicago. So, kudos to whatever company did the sound.

I realize now why I haven't been able to do much in the organization business of my second bedroom. Every time I start going through those papers I grow unbearably sad. So the progress will be made slowly because I can't stand it any other way.

Diane: So, I've officially registered to graduate (in absentia). And by the end of the summer, I should have a shiny parchment for my imaginary office wall.
