Welcome to the Soulful Spike Society Main Thread Part 1143. What can I say? We're smart, tough, and insightful. If I do say so myself.
We've got more insights that you can throw a bolt of lightening at. Take TV, for instance. In our I Love, Love, LOVE TV thread we've got all sorts of insightful discussion. And if that wasn't enough? We've even show threads for Torchwood, Doctor Who, Dollhouse, and the ongoing Whedon 'fest that is the S3.
Want some smart fic, pics, or reviews? Check out the The S3 Website!
We will get tough (grr! argh!) about spoilers on the main board. Spoilers belong in the Spoiled Souls thread; if you want to talk about casting spoilers, the little ghosty button above is for you and if you want to talk about a show that just aired, please mark in BIG LETTERS.
Finally, we've got smart insights about tough subjects in our Open Topics Thread. Your opinion might not mesh with someone else's, but we strive for a sane discussion.
Wait! Where are you going? I was going to make espresso!

Like the recycling of new parts. Very ecological and all.
Lola, thanks for kind words on my design. I liked what you were doing with yours but did you finish it? I thought it sounded very tailor-y and forward looking.

Up at 4:50AM as per usual.
Did laundry.
Walked to market and back again with two bags of groceries.
Put away various and sundry stuff around the house.
Dragooned Elder Daughter into helping me wash the kitchen floor.
Forgot to eat breakfast. Remembered while waiting for half the kitchen floor to dry. Moved table and chairs, started washing other half of floor, remembered that I still hadn't eaten breakfast.
Unfortunately, all access to food was blocked by wet floor, kitchen table, chairs, etc etc etc... Finally managed to weasel into the fridge for some bread and cheese around 10AM, while waiting for floor to dry.
Yes, I'm an idiot. Fortunately I had had some tea, and a sample bit of pastry when I got my tea lemonade at Starbucks, but still, I'm an idiot.
Anne, can't multitask without a diagrammed project list anymore either and sometimes not even then

Yeah, what she says. *Hugs Julia, gently, just on general principles* I think a general, all around hug might be in order. *hug* One of my cousins and her husband live in Aurora, about a mile away from the theater. They're shaken up, but luckily none of my relatives were there.

I read the news today, oh boy... Julia, so very not happy Colorado news like that just gives me a shudder; I mean, that was my childhood home, and twice in a decade these horrible things have happened.

Sorry I missed Project Runway. I was delayed in Coolville, OH, on my way home from Parkersburg, WV. Next week, players, if you're willin'! from the Dayton area. It's three years this Mon, so I am going to the cemetery this weekend, and visiting my MIL with the girls and my sis.

Okay, it's not like I had enough for the queen, but while cleaning out all the extraneous fabric I found 6 1/2 yards of lovely black linen. I also found all my leftover trim, of which there's a LOT.
So naturally I tripped my way over to the north side of town to visit my seamstress.
By August 9th her majesty will have a new, summer-weight gown.
Yes, I AM an idiot. Why do you ask?

No you are NOT an idiot. Don't make me come over there and fish-smack you. I, on the other hand, just bought two more costume books. I didn't need them, they just completed parts of the collection, and I'm not even doing costume stuff anymore anyway so I had no excuse at all.
