Anybody read that Christian Bale, without press or fanfare, has visited the hospitalized survivors of the Aurora shooting? That a classy man is.

My sincerest thanks to everyone who tried to help me win Feast Hall tickets. Sadly, I lost . I had only 15 "LIKES". The winner had a staggering 250. Sorry I didn't help; it was over by the time I read your request. Julia, per usual Same here, sorry Diane. Roxanne and I plan to be here for PR tomorrow - we have to go to Parkersburg again, but don't expect any delays in Coolville . . . so we should get home in time.

My DVR didn't record it, but luckily it was available On Demand. Liz was visiting on Saturday I forced tortured invited her to watch it with me. ;D I will make every attempt to watch it live next week. I forced Liz to watch something when she visited me, too. True Blood maybe? Did you have a nice visit? Is anyone watching Falling Skies? SS loves his aliens and skittery things. Ah yes, the torture. Good times. I returned the favor by boring sharing with Michelle what I knew about permaculture and intentional communities and tiny houses and other such green things. All in all, we had a lovely visit. With Karen, I believe it was Falling Skies and the Torchwood special. woe is me I've been wondering whether falling skies was still on. It seemed rather intriguing but I haven't heard a lot of talk about it.

Bob and I leave for vacation on the 10th. We're roadtripping from Houston to Mt Ida, AZ because he wishes to scatter his wife's ashes there.
Then we'll be heading northeast to Maine. We're passing through Memphis and Nashville on the way. I was hoping to catch Sue and maybe meet up but she hasn't been on the board. We'll also be going through Virginia, W Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, NJ, NY, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
We'll be swinging by Atlanta on the way back so the route will also include North Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, and Alabama.
Are there any other S'cubies along the route? We'd love to stop by for a bit of a visit. Since we have no real schedule--other than making DragonCon over Labor Day weekend, we don't mind making little adjustments to the itinerary if it means getting to see you.

Unconventional materials challenge FTW!
Ok, so we need to use stuff from a candy store!!! And we're supposed to make a new look ....
So, should our theme be the Candy Land game, or Willy Wonka? ;D

Willy Wonka is the expected response. I say we go Candy Land!
So, that means we need to make a still bodice, sort of like the board of the board game. And then a flowy skirt made of multi multi multi colored ropes of licorice or other string candy. And for a hat? Well of course we'll use a giant gummy bear!
Ohh!! And we'll stud hemline with a whole bunch of the little tokens that you move around the board game and make a purse out of the cards from the game!

Well, I finally here . . . this time, it was a massive storm passing through that delayed me.
The elder girl has lessons in Parkersburg from 5 - 7, every Thurs night. Parkersburg in about 50 minutes away, so it shouldn't give me problems with PR . . . except two weeks in a row we've run into delays getting home.
Sigh.
