Post Office bad. Nice people five blocks due east, on the other hand, they rock. Post Awful tracking said my package had been delivered. Not here, it hadn't. I was making notes so I could call and ream out express my disappointment with the delivery supervisor tomorrow, when the phone rang. The nice people who got my package had taken the time to track down our number and call me. So we drove over and collected the package. We get their mail, they get our mail, we get mail from other addresses, all on a regular basis. Same number, same direction, street beginning with the same letter, what's the diff? Your Postal Service, proudly run by illiterate monkeys. I had UPS do that with both contact lenses and insulin last summer about this time, and an angry replacement USPS driver come up the driveway demanding to know where I hid my mailbox (which has been in the same place for about 20 years). The problem is nobody's taught to read maps anymore. I am busy, or at least should be, best go do things, eh?

Hi! I changed the format to more closely resemble the old one. Spring, the posts should be alternating between gray and white. Will look tomorrow for our original theme. I got the logo back though so it at least looks like home. On my monitor it comes up taupe rather than gray, but it's very pleasant to view. I'm still unhappy with a number of things about this upgrade ( not the least having such issues as trying to find my previous post) but the look of the place is beginning to feel more familiar and I love having the logo back. Question. On the ribbon below the logo are "Home, Help, Search, Calendar, Members, Profile and Messages. My profile has the number 1 on it. What does that "1" mean? Diane: That is a notification thing. It means one person has replied to a post of yours.

Yes, I had a "1" on my profile and when I clicked on "Profile" the 1 showed on the Notifications tab. When I went to notifications, I was notified that someone had quoted/replied to me, I think. I'm not sure what all it will "notify" us about, but I guess we will see.

eating ready meals and easy microwave food while being just one person is kind of awkward. Like, the potato omelette thing says it serves 20. It means when chopped up to be fiddly party food things, but still. As a main meal it serves 4. But once I heat it, I eat it. Same like the 4 pack of quorn franks. they cook in the packet, so I can't just have two and keep two. So then I eat giant meals. But I don't usually remember to eat three times a day, so maybe it averages out? *pokes belly* okay, not exactly. I'm bored and I still need a plan for all time scales ranging from next half hour to rest of my life. I have plans for the rest of my life but they tend to involve The Avengers and moving in with Tony Stark so now I need plans that don't involve changing universes. It's kind of hard to think of what to do with an English degree that was really really boring to get for the last couple of years. Maybe ten years of studying is more studying than I want to do? Or maybe I'm just bored of everything at the moment. I'd like to study space colony design for beginners. And then start a practice colony. We'd try to live like we were a space colony, only when things went wrong we could tweak the design and have another go. Or I'd open a Quest Tavern, which would be like the place adventure parties go at the start of adventures, where the locals would be trying to recruit people to achieve tasks. Only the tasks would be like weeding the garden or help with the shopping or something. Like a community notice board and volunteer coordination center, but more interesting. And the Quest Tavern would serve vegan food, including vegan pizza and vegan ice cream. Also have games to play and themed game nights and TVs that would play things that are not sports. Or there could be a superhero team. One set of volunteers, whole world of problems to fix. Or I could find people that are already doing stuff and go help them. Except I wouldn't be much help, so it's more fun imagining I contribute to the planning phase of these other things. It's annoying, I can't think of problems small enough I could be the solution to them. Or solutions small enough I could apply them to my problems. I mean I've been trying to move to Norwich for half a decade and I'm still not there, so my ability to achieve is kind of limited. Blah. but this is all what I've been thinking of since I handed in my last bit of work. Oh, I posted my dissertation on Dreamwidth: Amy Screams, The Doctor Yells: Gender in Moffat's Doctor Who beccaelizabeth.dreamwidth.org/2624054.htmlin case anyone is interested from here. I still haven't had like a letter to say I passed everything yet. The computer says so but it hasn't added everything up and told me I have a degree. I'd quite like having a letter that says I have a degree. I'm bored and stuck and trying to think of plans big enough and small enough at once. ... need a TARDIS plan, bigger on the inside...

I like the change much better now that Onjel was able to adjust the site closer to the original. I have discovered Zentangle today and I am fighting a losing battle to keep it from eating my brain. I have never been a doodler before, but the pattern tessalation and seeming contradiction between random and purposefulness really does make for an interesting meditation.

My apologies but I was not able to work on the board formatting today. Definitely will start looking to see if our old template is saved somewhere. I'm glad everyone is more comfortable with the current look though. :) I could not stand the all gray. Made my eyes buggy.

Good God, we are absolutely drenched here! I'm going to begin sinking into the mud in the backyard if it gets much worse. Endless rain, and tons of it, and more expected the next two days. There's some flooding in some areas near here, but not in town yet, at this point. Everything is just so soaked and damp, all the time. I'm starting to have problems with silverfish - those little insects that love the wetness -- and can't seem to get rid of the ants this year. My yard looks awful, because who can mow a constantly soaked lawn? We are supposed to get a little bit of a break this weekend - here's hoping.

Haven't been able to find our old template identified as such. I'm pretty sure the old coding has been saved, but I'm not tech-savvy enough to implement it. Any ideas anyone?

Two are fine and one seems to make a game of musical packages.

Spent the morning at the gym. Probably spend the afternoon out in the yard. HUGE thunder and lightening storm last night. Got a teenager coming over to do the majority of the real work but I find they need constant supervision and oversight. Going on vacation next couple of weeks so will be gone then as well. Looking forward to fall TV, though. Looks like lots (almost too many and too derivative) of sci-fi/fantasy type stuff. It may be hard to separate out the wheat and the chaff. Still enjoying "ARROW" as it moves at a good clip and occasionally confounds expectations (and boy howdy the naked abs). There is casting news there for Angel/Firefly fans. There is also casting news for NCIS fans of the somebody's leaving sort.
