Progress is: big meeting on Wednesday this week for to apply for mortgage and pay money. I have arranged this meeting. I booked a room. And I have all the bits of paper, which required going to the bank today, and also two photocopy places. at this point I could theoretically just decide to not buy the place, but the other night I got woke up at three in the morning by people trying to visit someone who did not appear to be there (or possibly live here at all), and they responded to this setback by emptying the foam fire extinguishers all over the hall. Both of them. Making sure to get the doors. and soak everything. And then there were noises from the underneath car park and then in the proper awake time morning the neighbour flats had a fire alarm. none of which is actually unusual in this building. plus one of my neighbours only owns 3 albums, which is a marked improvement on the one who moved out who only liked one song, but includes some total misery music. and another neighbour plays the boom boom music at high volumes and is not amenable to suggestions of turning it down. and this too is pretty much as per usual here. so I'm pretty sure I want to move out, I've spent a year looking for a place so I know what's out there, so this flat is the best flat and I wants it. I'll just see if it works out. Crossing all my appendages for you, becca! Same here, becca. Yes, it sure sounds like it is time to move.

Hey, has anyone heard from Julia? I know her husband was scheduled for back surgery in November; I don't think she's posted since way before Thanksgiving. She's on Facebook.
She got on a while ago, and made an attempt to friend S'cubies . . . I ALMOST rejected her friend request because she is going by "Julie" and at first I couldn't figure out who it was, and thought it might be one of those spammers. But then I noticed we had mutual friends. I asked Sara about her, and she told me it was Julia.
So I'm guessing that either you got a request and didn't realize who it was, or she didn't "see you" out there in Facebook land.
I don't want to put her full first and last on this public board, but if you want to friend her and can't figure out who she is or can't find her on FB, let me know - IM here or on FB.
ANYHOW - she's well and her hubby got through the surgery OK.

Hi all and a belated Happy New Year! Seems like everyone is watching Buffy. Including me. Have been away for much longer than I realized. I can't say I've been busy, more like vegetating. It's getting too hard to sew because I can't stand up to do the ironing any more. I'm sad about that, but I'm starting a new project to see if I can come up with workarounds. Meantime. The Daughter bought a house and got married. The Son has a wonderful new girlfriend but lost his dog to (mostly) old age. The Oldest Grandson had a car wreck and has sustained back injuries to rival mine--and he's only 24. His attitude is good as possible, but it has to be hard for him. He's home with Mom for now until it either gets better or doesn't. Oldest granddaughter has her two babies now and plans to get married some time this year. Didn't we used to do that in the reverse order? Younger Granddaughter is deep into Nerdville. She's gearing up for another costume competition. Younger Grandson is also moving into the land of cosplay. We're encouraging him to experiment on fabrications since they interest him so much. Bob and I plan another cruise. I'm mostly scooter-bound outside the house, but the freedom it offers is worth it. We're still doing Queen Victoria and Mr. Brown. One of our friends has built me a mobile throne. Right now we're still in the breaking in (or rather down!) stage. I have photos, but can't seem to find a way to upload them. Try using the "Add Attachment" button (top right on the screen, when you are writing a post), to upload a photo. Sue and I tried it (see a few pages back, where she upload a pic of her "Joss signed" book). It works well and is easy.
Thanks for the update . . . sounds like all is going well, mostly.

First the bridal party, next the parents and in-lieu of parents and finally all the bride's decendants. Beautiful bride . . . and love your dress. It rained heavily that day. My hair collapsed, my dress got soaked and I felt like a drowned rat. Beth & co. had brought everything to the country clubhouse earlier in the day and did all their getting ready in the locker room--together with copious amounts of wine to cheer them along. Maddie got very deer-in-the-headlights when she realized she was doing makeup and hair for the entire party!

I've been watching a lot of Buffy lately. My DVR picks it ups. It just never gets old, does it? Like a comfortable pair of sexy shoes. Have a great 2015! See you on the flip side! Great to see you, Karen!
How goes it?
Hi Spring! *hugs* Not bad. Waiting for golf weather.

Hi S'cubies!! Hugs and love. Miss you guys. Felt like I was in a fog all last year but doing better now. So.. what's shakin? I see Sue has something we all just turned green with envy from seeing. Such an awesome awesome present and to a most deserving fan. btw - that yogurt maker is still going strong - use it once a week and think of you. KAREN! What was the fog about? (if you care to share?) My kids are really really pushing at us to do a non-inflammatory diet (Whole30, I think is the name). I know it's a leave off all sugar, flour and dairy. Not sure I'll survive but I had a horrible cold right after Christmas and lived on tea and scrambled eggs and (other than the cold) felt soooooo much better in other ways -- then I went back and ate every junk food I could get my hands on and .... blech. So, I need to give it a try. Also, because the pulmonologist is asking if want to try a low dose of steroids re my lungs. They reduce inflammation so really, it makes more sense to try to control inflammation by eliminating stuff from my diet rather than adding a medication with all of it's nasty side effects! How are the boys? and the grandbaby? (not such a baby anymore, I think). Men? Hi Sue. The fog was from the breakup with the bf which hit me probably harder than the divorce. I felt we were matched up perfectly. But what do I know? lol But I'm better now. Moving on and such. He still has some stuff here at the house he needs to get before I post it all on Craig's List. lol The diet will probably be the best thing you could do for yourself. Check out the book - Breaking the Vicious Cycle. While it is for IBS and issues like that, it is also anti-inflammatory and I found the diet doable. Just have to find the 'goodies' you can eat that will keep you going. Honey is allowable because it bypasses the adrenal function. Altho you won't hear that from dieticians. I never found it to mess with my blood sugar like fake sugar and high fructose, etc. Flour is the hardest part to leave out of your diet. I make pancakes and other stuff w/almond 'flour', which is basically just ground almonds. They taste awesome w/blueberries in them. They are my 'go to' snack. That book is the reason I make my own yogurt. It's a big part of the healing. Anyway. Good luck! We all want you around for the duration.

OMG !! I missed the disappearing website. Was it horrible as I imagine it would be? Thanks for doing the heavy lifting, Erin. I've been a bad technopagan. YES -- BEYOND HORRID. (( Oh, and my grandson is 7 now. He's almost as tall as me! I don't know why, all he eats is pizza and chicken nuggets, chips and salsa. And that's not an exaggeration! lol He's a sweetheart. I don't see him as much as I'd like since my son's divorce, tho.

I just went thru season 6 and started season 7. Not to raise up old discussions but it sure sounded like Spike wanted to be the VAMPIRE he used to be and the demon just decided to (mis)interpret "make me what I was." Also, first thing he did with the soul was try to scratch it out. But, make, JM with the curly hair looked so young! Saw Michelle Tractenburg on an NCIS:LA ep recently and did NOT recognize her or her voice. Willow's hair was almost orange. Show holds up very very well. Yes.. Season 6 has been on FX. Agree about Spike. Getting his soul 'accidentally', that it. Oh and yes - he was very pretty with the blonde curly hair - and young. Almost like getting 'reborn' - throwback to early seasons Buffy.

Spring - How is Roxanne's foot? Go her on the wrestling. sounds like "Mandy" really is testing your resolve. Hi, Sue. Roxy's foot is a lot better. She is off the crutches and cleared to wrestle again if the foot is bandaged and taped. She is trying to rush it, and I'm trying to slow her down . . . our usual dynamic. Mandy is something else. She told me two days ago that she had "something important to ask me when we had some time alone," and then when we did, she asked: "Do you want to adopt me?" Now, she KNOWS I do, as I have told her this a million times, so it went like this: ME: Yes. MANDY: I knew you were going to say that, so I have another question for you: WHY do you want to adopt me? ME: Because I love you. MANDY: I knew you were going to say that, too, so I have another question: WHY do you LOVE me? ME: Because you are a great kid, you have lived with me for over a year and I've grown to love you, and I want to help you grow up and watch you do it. MANDY: OK. ME: So . . . I've answered your questions then? MANDY: Yes. And that was the end of that. So who knows what will happen. I just take it day by day. She is such an ANGRY kid, it is challenging. Yesterday, she got mad when I asked her what time she was going to take her shower (I was just trying to sketch out how the evening was going to go), and she angrily replied: "It's none of your business!! My hygiene is MY OWN BUSINESS!!" When I expressed confusion at the response, and said that I was just figuring out the evening because Roxy and I had to shower too, she would have NONE of it, and pouted for a while. She has actually gotten better with her level of anger, but she is SUCH a tinder box. She is angry and she also probably doesn't feel 'worthy' of love. I don't envy you this challenge, but you are up to it!! How to explain 'love' and the why for feeling it to someone so damaged and not quite getting it. I don't know. Maybe tell her that when you think of her your heart sings, or something that will help her understand. :/ *hugs*
