Onj: LOVE IT! (If you can add a fountain of free-flowing dark chocolate, even better!) Sorry I've not been around much. I've got the Slayage conference in less than a month, and am trying to hammer out my paper, a roundtable presentation, all while working on a new novel and a non-fiction book about Dollhouse. Sadly, none of these things pay. Oh well. I'm feeling downright lazy, right about now. . .. ;-) You are wonder woman. Seriously. Good on ya and I love that you are writing so much! I'm working on that chocolate thingy, but the best I've been able to do about getting different foods is to go fishing and catch some ocean fish, lol. The sad part of it is all that fine work will be wiped out very shortly for the next alpha test phase. But, I fully intend to name a whole hero after you and then have a real Erinland with multiples and stuff. I can't wait for this game to go public. Miss you!

Does anyone remember the map of Erinland we had lo, those many years ago? You mean this one? Without the additional picture of The Master and the poster format? I don't have the original, I don't think. I can check though.

Eventually I'll get to watching it and you'll be off the hook. Hey Liz, Stanford baseball is coming to town this weekend to play Vandy in a "super-regional". These locations are only determined at the last minute based on who wins and their won/loss records. What the poor Cardinal fans don't know (really, how many are going to fly cross country for baseball games --- maybe some of the parents?) is that the entire city is/will be SWAMPED with Country Music Fans. 80,000 sold out tickets I think. I'm not sure where they will even house the team -- Vandy dorms? and the ESPN crew.

I didn't pay it much mind when I was there, but then again the baseball coach hated the Band and we never played at their games.

Off to San Antonio today. Tomorrow we're participating in a photoshoot and Saturday assisting in a beginner's sewing class for would-be costumers. Have fun. Ah, life, the wheel goes round and round and if you are stuck to an outside spoke like old bubble-gum, well, then you are going to go up and down AND round and round: AC broken internet broken AC fixed (temporarily, need to replace 25 year old system) internet fixed (well, with my desktop plugged straight into the modem so Jim will have to fix running it thru the wireless router when he gets home storms (spring in Nashville) tourists (summer in nashville) kids coming to visit. Blaine met Nathan F and Topher from Dollhouse at his LA show on Tuesday. Jim traveling. Still have random guy houseguest (although replacing AC might force his hand) there's your update.

Blaine met Nathan F and Topher from Dollhouse at his LA show on Tuesday. Jim traveling. Still have random guy houseguest (although replacing AC might force his hand) there's your update. Ha, sounds like my day!
While driving the 12 yr old (she just turned 12!) to her summer camp this morning, my oil light came on, but that just meant I was due for an oil change. But suddenly, my tire light came on, meaning at least one of my tires was getting low (no flat), then my gasoline light came on. So I was suddenly driving down the road with three yellow warning lights on my dash - none of which was critical, but which unnerved me.
When I got home, I had a letter from the state of Ohio, saying there was an error in my 2012 tax returns, and I needed to go online to find out how much I owed and pay ASAP to avoid penalties and assessments and possibly lethal injection, which you may have heard, is no fun in Ohio. It has to do with how school taxes are assessed, a pain in the butt method in my school district that requires separate reporting . . . anyhow, I do my taxes on line, and apparently screwed it up in 2012, and they just now noticed. Yes, it took them over a year to tell me about it, but I have one week to respond.
I tried to go online, but my internet was out, as was my cable. Yet Time Warner said there was nothing wrong . . . the guy asked if I was using wireless, maybe it was a router problem. Yes, maybe it's my router, when the cable is out too? ACCKK!!! Eventually, it became true that nothing was wrong - I think it was related to the major road work going on a block away.
Have had an amazing week, month, and year. I could write a book.
Watching these girls has been a real adventure.
Today, I took the 14 yr old to the orthodontist . . . yowza. The orthodontist doesn't take Medicaid, and I can't put her on my insurance until I adopt her, which is probably many months away. So I have to pay and hope that Children Services will reimburse . . . OR I have to drive her 80 miles to Columbus, to the nearest place that will take Medicaid. I don't think that's a reasonable expectation, given that I have two other kids to take care of, and visits could be very frequent at first. And she can't really wait any longer. Her jaw pain is sometimes so bad she won't eat chewy or hard stuff for several days.
And how wonderful is that? Yes, people on Medicaid can really afford reliable cars and gasoline to go to Columbus all the time.
Sigh.

Wow, your guys' days sound just like the way our hospital service has been going this week. Is it a full moon? New moon? Also, my Not Grandma (actually my mom's cousin's wife's mother, she used to call me "my friend" ) died last weekend and the funeral was yesterday. Couldn't get away because I'm on service and we were already stretched thin as it was.

So, to review: sometimes the bubblegum is on the OUTSIDE of the spoke and doesn't just go up and down and round and round but also gets crushed under the wheel, possibly up against a newly asphalted road that is covered in dead possum?
Ah, life.
(truly, both AC is a gift from the gods, and, as we all know it really is becoming very difficult to live without internet)
To cleanse your palate, here is Jon Oliver regarding Net Neutrality:
brilliant!
Even, better but linking to it I discovered that a lot of stuff from his new show is on YouTube. Since we don't get HBO that's a lovely discovery!
