"Good review. I liked your corporate America insights.
I was sad, though, that you called the plot "thin and unconvincing" or somthing like that. I though the plot was meant to be a parody (sort of like that ad clip at the beginning.) I thought that ME was doing a dash of "The Zeppo"'s skewed perspective and throwing in a bit of "Nine to Five" parody. How else could you possibly explain the chopsticks!"
I also have to admit that I really like this episode -- the opening Wolfram and Heart advert parody helped to fill the void where Wesley's "previously on Angel..." used to be. The opener is a great spin on the convention of the flashback -- and the opening sequence with Harmony getting ready for work demonstrates some really great directing and camera work.

Yep - I liked the episode a lot also. It was "filler" in the sense of not being an episode that moved the Season arc along much, plot-wise. But it wasn't inconsequential to the Season's themes - far from it. I don't know if I buy into the skewed perspective thoughts that have been discussed - I'd have to rewatch. The ep is from Harmony's POV, but to me, that is different than a skewed perspective. It is definitely Zeppo-like in its focus on one character who the others undervalue. Love the mention of "Nine to Five," aria. Hadn't thought of it, though I love that movie.

Nan, I also hope you're wrong/think you might not be with your "that 'ship has sailed" insight. As logistically difficult as it will be to deal with B/S now that B is no longer in the picture, this 'ship was too important to just throw away. B/S was the most important 'ship either participant was ever involved in, and (ultimately) the most positive for both. I personally would love to see Spike discover new abilities (teleporting, anyone?) rather than shanshu. Going back to being "Joe Normal" seems like a drag after vamp speed, strength and immortality.

Hello,
I'll make this sort...
"Harm's Way" was great fun! Totally enjoyed every minute. Had know idea "Angel" could be that hilarious.
Imo, the comedy stylings of this young actress is on point and when it comes to this show, it's just what the doctor ordered.
Charles and Wesley aren't half bad either, come tah think of it. Those quick quips they throw around on Spike's behalf also takes away some of the heavy. Anyhoo, loved Harm's Way, just wished I taped it.

Great review, Nan. I was impressed that you made something so great out of something so apparantly light-weight.
I agree that The Ship has sailed. I hadn't really understood the metaphore until I read your review. After last week's episode I am gald of it.
I also liked your thoughts abot corporate America. We have talked before about the seaon being about corporate America. My only thought was that this episode dealt with the problems caused by nepotism. I am looking forward to seeing more Harmony in other episodes.
