Good morning Vietnam! I mean evening, Scubieville! It's Super Bowl Sunday. 2/1/2015 - the numbers add up to an 11 day!! 1111venty11!! Woo hoo! Also Part 1154 = 11. What's it all mean? I have no idea. But numbers are groovy! And so are the S'cubies! Links we like to use to help you move about the place: Our website chock full of touchdowns and extra points and essays, analyses and amazing fiction. If you're looking for a bit of debate on religion, politics, and other touchy topics, push on over to our forbidden topics section. Be nice - no name calling, pshawing of opinions or deflating of balls, or you'll be called for a foul. Or a fowl. Not that there is anything wrong with fowls. I love a good duck. And oranges. WE love us some TV (no - really!). Check out what's on the sidelines in our I Love, Love, LOVE TV threadPlease read the rules, play nice and don't post spoilers anywhere but here or beneath the ghost button, which we hope to have back in operating order soon. In the meantime, if you don't wish to visit the spoiler thread, please be nice and GIVE AMPLE WARNING WITH CAPS AND BOLDING ahead of the spoiler you wish to post. (Thanks Onjel for letting me copy these last 2 sentences verbatim! lol) Enjoy your time on the field. Come back soon!

OMG, first!!! Thanks for starting the new part, Karen. Sorry to hear of the heartbreak, and I would give you all kinds of sage advice, except I'm guessing you already know the drill. And you're already doing something I've always found cathartic: watching some Buffy! Life is busy and crazy, but fairly good. I need to finish prepping my old house for sale, which is taking forever. Sat night - well really, early Sun morning, 2PM - I went into Roxy's room to look for something, only to discover the "lump" that was Roxy was really stuffed animals and pillows. She turned out to be outside - down the block - sneaking a cigarette, but it made for a wild night for me. She would make great Slayer.

Been a few years since I've done a new part. I can't remember so much of how to do it. Buffy is always my 'go to' distraction. But I did have a 6 month secret fling with no string with a guy almost 20 years my junior which helped get me over the separation anxiety, you could call it, and now I'm just dating a sweet local guy. Not sure where it's going, but we're taking it slow and are mostly friends for now. Mostly I'm concentrating on work - lot of changes there, the grandson and golf. Good luck selling the house. Don't forget to bury St. Joseph upsidedown facing the house to sell it easier. Ah Roxy the slayer. She's quite the handful. I have no suggestions for girl raising. Sounds like she needs a job or something to keep her busy. Any places she could learn to groom horses or maybe work at a vets? I dunno. She will be ok - likes to push on the boundaries a bit. Hang in there, Spring. I have a snow day today. It's dang beautiful out and I'd be out soaking up the sunshine if it wasn't so bitterly cold. Sitting by the window with the cat will have to do.

Thanks for the reminder about St Joseph!!
Roxy is only 15, and most places won't hire her. She's in a sport (wrestling) and stays pretty busy . . . but there's always room for boundary-pushing, when it comes to Roxy.
I am getting a 7 yr old boy for 6 days - temporary respite needed, starting tomorrow. He was described as "hyper, plays rough, will hit." Yay? I think we will be OK. The girls laughed at the idea of a 7 yr old trying to intimidate them in any way.
I wish we could get this board going again, but with the proliferation of other social media like FB and Twitter and such, I'm not sure we could make it happen, even if "another Buffy" type show got everyone interested on that level.
Sometimes I wonder what Patti would have done, if she had been with us all these years . . . what she might have come up with, to keep the board going.

I have some good news to share - Kitty's been accepted for transfer to Cal State Fullerton as a Computer Science major, starting this fall.
*general hugs all 'round* I read, and I think about all of you.

As you all know, my grandson, Charlie has had health problems practically since birth. While the Eos issues have mostly faded since he entered his teens we're now facing newer and potentially much more serious problems. He seems to have mitochondrial disease problems that have been extremely difficult to diagnose. However, his blood pressure is extremely low and he's been passing out, usually after rising from a seated or prone position. Yesterday he went for an EEG and the results are abnormal. Next week he's going for an MRI and hopefully we'll know the cause of his seizures and all the other problems.
His father is useless to the point of endangering him. When Charlie had an episode Rod told him not to disclose the fact to his mother--his excuse being that Charlie would be forbidden to play la crosse!
Beth is livid that Rod could be so stupid. Mercifully, Charlie is learning not to listen to such imbecility and told her anyway.
There's more, but I don't think I want to explain the extreme depths of this man's depravity. Suffice to say lawyers have been called and court dates are being set. Can you spare a positive thought in our direction or maybe a good vibe or two?

I don't blame Beth for being livid. Thank God Charlie had more sense than his dad. Knowing Charlie's health problems, to tell him NOT to report an episode . . . UGH. Best wishes to all, especially Charlie.

Thank you for the new part, Karen. I just spaced...absolutely no excuse.
As for re-energizing: you're right, Spring. I don't know of anything that might draw people back. I personally don't post much because my life is really quite boring. I don't even post on Facebook that much. But I love checking in here and seeing how people are doing...there's a lot more space to talk here that other social media don't really provide.
One thing I do miss is talking about shows I watch with you guys. I haven't found a substitute for that...

One thing I do miss is talking about shows I watch with you guys. I haven't found a substitute for that... The only thing that might revive this place is if we did really great, timely reviews of some show that was going to be as great and popular and long-running as Buffy - and we did some things to generate traffic to the reviews. But it is nearly impossible to imagine that happening.
I do agree that there is "more space to talk" here, and I don't find that my ventures into FB or Twitter have been as fulfilling. I mean, here we were really able to discuss in depth, and to get to know one another.
For some reason I was thinking of Patti quite a lot the last few days, and did something I hadn't done in ages - looked over our first "where is Patti?" thread. It still had the power to bring me to tears. Though it was a terrible day, it was also one of our finest hours as a board, and something I can't imagine repeating in quite the same way on popular social media.
